I've actually been testing the XC-116 in three Immo's, a comparison with Ekowool. So far with my ribbon builds it takes a while to break it in, wicks too fast and stays in the sweet zone too short a time after I open them up. I've been increasing the amount of wick and this seems to help. But Ekowool has better saturation and far less flow. To that extent it seems a better choice for this device. But the call's still out spaceman. My tests have been limited to .5x.1 TEMCO ribbon on 2mm 4/5 and 5/6 winds, rather high resistance, because of this issue. Cotton in these winds, outstanding.

If you're going to build straight wire, I'd love your input on any micro's you build with XC-132!

Thanks for the comeback.

Happy Holidays! Good luck.

The issue there is finding properly heat treated XC-132, as I don't trust SnG's process. I prefer to buy from rba supplies because they treat it at 1200°F for 12 hours (per manufacturer's instructions I believe) , however they don't yet carry it.

I would agree there is a difference in the process. However, I'm not yet able to comment on any differences with any confidence because I haven't yet processed enough material from SnG. Also I'm trying to be a little careful too with test bias. I purchased a substantial inventory of the XC-132 product from good ol' Marty before the belly-up and had little time for cross-comparison. The remainder I had I recently lost in transit from a build demo at a S FL B&M. Almost all the testing for the BTV product was done on the original PT1 tanks, mostly because I have so many of them. The differences in airflow to the latter two cross-bar versions and similar Mini's is significant. So I've had to struggle with sorting out the flow differences, and there are. As you may surmise we have no truly scientific way to gauge flow-rate through one of these puppies. It' subjective. Consequently I've had some doubts.

I've spoken with Jeremy and continue these conversations regarding when he will commit some inventory to this excellent product. Hope one of you beats me to the punch with a confirmation. I am very eager to evaluate his eventual supply. And then, I'll have a better perspective from which to speak to the issue of apparent wicking flow between the two preparation methods. For the moment, and very subjectively, vapor production would seem to be slightly diminished between what SnG produces and what I received from BTV. However, I see no compromise in flavor. Again, supplies from SnG I would boil for a minimum of 45 minutes, yes 45 minutes, to begin to restore the malleability I have seen in alternate product. Without this it is impossible to thread.

That's the sum up spaceman. Hope it helps. And I wish us all good luck that we have the opportunity to try this product. I believe it makes a world of difference in ease of use, utility and vaping results for both flavor and vapor. It is, in my estimation, the game changer insofar as clearomizers are concerned. What could contribute substantially to making avid vapers and builders out of newb's practically overnight if made more available and slightly more affordable.

And I gotta tell ya spaceman, I am really down with that.

Happy Holidays.

:)
