So I ordered an xhaler and received it as my first HV mod. So far I pretty much think it rocks, but had a question you guys might be able to help with.

I only seem to be able to use 801 attys on it (which is what I was planning on mostly using). When I try a 901 atty I get a horrible burnt taste almost immediately (using multiple attys, some old, a few completely new and HV juice). I am using the pyramid tea bag mods for the filler, and have a completely filled it along with a few drops directly on the atty. My USB passthrough for the 901 tastes fine using the same setup. Is this due to the 5 volts? Everyone says that's the sweet spot, but for me it just tastes horrible unless I take tiny 1 second puffs. Is there a possibility I'm pushing all 6 volts (the plastic end cap is as tight as I can get it)? The thing heats up incredibly quick, and I currently have a multimeter (old analogue) but I'm not really sure what I should be looking for using it.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

New Batts and are chrged to 7.4 Volts and you are probably really vaping in the 5.3 to5 .6 volts when everything is fully charged...Its hard to find a cart that wicks properly with HV devices, which is why most people prefer to drip... You will notice some difference once your batteries start leveling out, but I am not sure if your cart mods will work so good...I have found the blue foam ot work the best for me with carts but even those require pretty constant refilling...Thanks

I just did some tinkering and it seems that I have to slightly unscrew the atomizer from the connection to allow more air in while inhaling. This helps a TON. Maybe it's just the atomizers I have. Does it hurt to have it slightly unscrewed?

And I definitely did notice that I'm going through juice like crazy in comparison  Dripping on the 901 just hurt with that taste, but maybe it was me being a bit sensitive yesterday also.

Just adding this, wondering if you could tell me how to test the voltage. Do I just set it to the 9V setting and put positive in the middle area and negative on the threads and activate it? Am I looking for DC or AC reading?
