Xtra long batteries

Just wondering how long an xtra long is supposed to last, if their is a standard. I was under the impression they were the longest-lasting and very disappointed. I just got home from a night out and when I left I thought I didn't have to worry-I had a brand new, fully charged xtra long plus 2 regular, fully charged batteries--so after 4 hours ALL of them died!!! I was using them occasionally when I would go "outside" witht the regular smokers who went out to smoke--and occaisonal "stealth" hits now and then inside the bar.

When I was planning my evening, I thought I needn't worry because the new xtra long would last most of the night. Then ALL 3 died.....and right after I referred 3 people toV4L at work yesterday. I am sorry, always had great service, but I think for 17.50 I should be able to receive at least 4-5 hourrs with an xtra long. Is that too much? I believe I used to have regular size that would last that long, and the longer ones would last more. Oh well, live and learn I guess it's time to expand my horizons. The last few batteries I have gotten have been very unreliable compared with older ones, most older outlasting the newer. Am I the only one who notices this? Or do the freebies and sales blind you to poor quality?

I use an XL, the "new" style which has a wider center hole and wider "post holes" and I can sware they last me all day. When I am off, this e cig is never out of my hand, and I use it all day. Maybe you have a defective XL if it is not lasting you all day. I keep two XL's on me but I only use one a day.

I only use the XLs (manual) and I get anywhere from 4-8 hrs off of an XL batt.
IIRC sometime ago they did try a different manufacturer for batts and they were less than stellar. (I'm being kind) However, I do believe they have run through most of these by now for sure. Nevertheless, just as Krazy said, you could've just gotten a defective batt. If you enter a ticket on it v4l will gladly help you.
Out of all of the batts I've bought in almost 2 yrs of vaping I think I've had to RMA maybe only 2 or 3 batts total.

Ms. Kathy there isn't a guaranteed time on any battery because depending on your vaping habits you could get 2 hours to 2 days. Usually get around 246 minutes or so of use from an xl with a wow carto and chain vaping. One of a few things could be the cause... Bad battery, bad charger, you vaped more than you thought, they were left on the charger too long and hurt the cell, or could be something else depending on the type of batt.

Personally would clean the charger, try again, and if the issue persists contact customer service...

Freebies and sales not withstanding, I consistently get all day performance from my batteries. My normal days consist of using 4 XL manual batteries (since I dither about fave flavors, I alternate-vape White Chocolate, Waffle, Wow Peppermint and now Peacemaker all day). I put fresh batts on each cart at 6am and use them all day. Basically chain-vape from the time I get up until I get to school, take one (usually the same batt) to the bathroom a couple of times before planning, chain-vape at planning, then chain-vape on the way home. I vape constantly at home and all on the same four batteries, and don't start getting the dreaded flashing LED until about 6 or 7pm. As a matter of fact, my daughter got married yesterday: I put on my four fresh batts at about 7am - nervous-wreck-chain-vaped all day and all through the dinner and dancing (with plenty of libations!) and am still using the same batts and 9:30 this morning. Ooops - one batt just started blinking. So overall, 24 hours isn't bad or poor quality!
One thing I have noticed: I've got 2 slim chargers. Batts charged on those tend to give up the ghost about an hour, maybe two, earlier than those charged on the old fashioned chargers; so I make sure I rotate batts through the different types of chargers and I seem to have good luck with the batts holding the charge.
I can't really address the new batt vs. old batt issue as I've got a mix of batts - some as old as 8 months, some as new as 3 weeks. In the interest of full disclosure - another batt just gave up now, too - so that's two batts lasting 26 hours.......
I'm sorry you appear to be having problems. Considering the reference to being blind to poor quality based upon sales and freebies, I just wanted to offer a different perspective.
Just my:2c:

I almost exclusively use XL Manuals. Obviously everyone's different, but from my experience, they last fairly long. And I'm a frequent chain, continuous vaper. Two days a week I'm out of my house and in school from 9am to 6pm. I use 2 XL batts all day. That seems pretty good to me. Especially considering I vape the whole way to and from school. That's about a 20min drive each way. I also vape in between all 4 of my classes, 5 minutes each time. And during a long break for lunch and coffee, that's about another 20min. And I usually switch batts long before they're dead.

Firstly, sorry if I sounded a little "testy" last night--I was just annoyed and have been having issues with batteries frequently the last few months. It stinks when out having a good time and keep getting the blink, blink, blink. I never considered it may be a problem with my chargers--they are both pretty old, at least a year. I'll have to check into finding a way to clean them, or trying new ones. If the problem does lie with my charges--I will be very embarrassed at my mentioning any accusations of "poor quality".

I routinely put my batteries on chargers & leave them overnight. Am I killing them? Already I notice my diamond series batteries blinking way earlier than I believe they have a right to.

You have to clean chargers too? Is there no end to this maintenance? It's as bad as housework

8-12 hours hasn't hurt them in any of the tests I've done so far Ms. Katz, but over 18 can. The usb charger especially will overcharge king diamonds and stealths, testing without load had a few of them come off the charger as high 4.28v after 8+ hours. While the extra voltage will allow them to last longer technically on that charge, that high of a voltage is not good for the cell, and will hurt it long term.

Whew, that's good to know!

Hmmm. I don't use the V4L chargers, because I had problems with the old VfL chargers pushing down the centre posts. but also simply because I am not in the US. V4L Slim chargers etc, would require messy adapter set ups, whereas I am using these: KR808D-1 USB charger(no cord) for e-cigarettes - KR808D-1 spare parts Heaven Gifts plugged into OZ USB wall plugs.

Hopefully these are not going to hurt my batteries.

Kathy they have said some good idea's. Older charger's will not hold or produce a great charge, and dirty ones as well. I am using the slim charger for my main use battery, and the original charger for my backup. I have not tested battery life with both, but from what I am seeing, the older charger may last a bit longer.

I use one battery a day and I usually vape all day when I am off, like I said. To break down old vaping habits for you guys I will list how long I vaped about a year ago.

30 minutes to school, non stop vaping
30 minutes back home non stop vaping
25 minutes to work, non stop vaping
1 hour lunch, about 45 minutes of non stop vaping
20 minutes to friends house for a party non stop vaping
and about 3 hours at his house drinking and vaping for about 2 of those hours

And of course where I worked, I could vape and do what I wanted all day basically. So a nine hour shift, I would say 3 or 4 hours total of vaping there as well.

That is on the new style battery and it would die about an hour into my friends house at night.
