Yes sadly the evolv DNA40 doesn't allow you to alter TCR I am sure they could include the feature but they won't as they want to sell DNA200s! The only dna clone boards with the nickel purity option I have seen have been made SXK and as far as I know none of the Xvo clones have SXK dna boards. fasttech seem to selling a clone made by another manufacturer but early reports are they are not SXK boards.

I have 2 or 3 SXK boards but all of them read the resistance incorrectly there is lots and lots of info here on ECF on the tc-beyond-ni200-nickel-purity................ thread and in reality having to use a spreadsheet to calculate the offset is way to much hassle for me! All the SXK boards I have seen have been longer and as the Xvo clone board is exactly the same size as a genuine, I am not even sure one will fit into the clone?

I may look into this as I only vape TC but do not vape NI200 at all!:) but there are a number of considerations I need a SXK board that works correctly (accurate resistance etc) the only way I know to get one is to buy a mod remove the board and fit it in the Xvo clone if it will fit!

It would be great if other modders would explorer the possibilities as has been done with the Vaporflask clones, its all a little somewhat of a lucky dip and rolling the dice! .... you could end up buying multiple clones just to get a decent SXK board right now I am not sure if I can justify the hassle and expense!
SXK sells boards with NP setting, but these are different to the ones they have in their mods. The price for 5 boards incl. shipping is about 125$. If you buy 500 they will be between 8-12$ - depands on the wattage (up to 120W) and the screen. These boards would not fit into The XVO. I wouldn´t buy a SXK board at the moment for this price.

I have 3 SXK Mods with different FW versions. V1 and V2 with the resistance issue work much better than the V3 or the V4 ( Zero Mini ). V3 and V4 tend to go too extream into regulation - if the NP is not high enough it´s more an on and off. The 11% of the Dicodes value TheBloke calculated is not enough imo. F.e. Nife48/52 needs a NP of 52-55 altought the TCR is 0.0041 only. My favorite wire is NiFe52/48 from Kanthal and this wire works perfect on all of my Ni200 optimized boxes ( temp around 330F-350F )

My XVO has an resitance issue too - 0.02-0.04 too high - but runs my NiFe52 satisfying. Maybe one day I will strip my Hcigar and build the Evolv board into the XVO, maybe.;)

Edit: I got my XVO from Focal ( same as 3F ) and the upper body is more anthracite.

FT has the xvo for 43 bucks I think it went down in price? Is it a good buy or does it need a board replacement. It is a cool enclosure I think I would enjoy having one but just checking if there is allot of issues with them.

Read through this thread and then make your choice....with that said maybe I am just lucky but I would not trade mine for anything currently out there in the market place. I went into knowing I might have to trade out the clone chip. My clone chip does everything it should...part of me kinda hopes one of my chips does fail so I can install an evolve chip (just to see if I am missing something)

I've only used mine for a day or two so far but it's been rock solid in WV & TC. I love the form factor & think it's worth the money.

I've been paying attention to all these board swaps & while I've never done one if my mod craps out I think I'll give it a shot.

I would not hesitate to swap out a chip in these clone mods...if it was any other mod I would just trash it.... this is a keeper even if the chip ends up needing replaced

I really like the form factor it has had my attention since the original went on pre-order. I am capable of replacing the board that is not trouble. I want to get another mod here pretty quick as I am a bit paranoid about the fda stuff. You can get a real dna40 device for the same money that is the only thing that has me second guessing it at this point.

I got one from FT about a week ago. I love the way it feels, and the finish on this one is good. Like others here, I went in knowing I would change this board out. The one I have works, but it has the typical issues. The power lock doesn't work, occasional 'new coil' message, I have to hold the up or down button when I change my atty for it to start working ( which then shows the power lock on ), etc. At least it works well enough for me to know I would like to upgrade it.

Has anyone got the DNA board from Sweet Vapes, and can verify it is a good one?

I have the version one from HCIGAR (HB40) and just ordered this one. A well made and reliable authentic. Fantastic price for an authentic but act fast please. Not many left!

Use coupon code ---> VT40DEAL ----> $49.99!!!

KAT! get your paws over their and get the Blue! It's YOU girl! :)

Back to the topic. No doubt the form factor alone on these XVO wanna bees from 3F and FT and others /lol devices are worth at least $50. Hell Box mod builders pay more than this for their "boxes"

You welcome

LOL
hahah

I could get angry or envious but you Americans vapers are just so so so so so fortunate! I paid $160 (£105 I am in the UK) for a VT40 back in the middle of June! I am looking to sell it after only using it for a few weeks until I built my 1st DNA200 1st week in July (yes I have mod addiction!)

I have owned over 150 box mods and the VT40 was way better than crappy Vaporsharks I had and have not to mention the dozen or so I have had to fix for other people.

It has really good build quality and has a DNA40 V5 Gold board with atty lock, the battery cap may be an issue for some and of course as ever the scratcharama flush 510! It has standard evolv 500mAh charging but I would take it over a Vaporshark any day!

I would still take the Xvo evolv clone though I like it too too much !;) [emoji14]

I have a load of take down pics as I needed to fix the screen position if anyone wants to see them;)

Great post and info! I haven't really had the time since the beginning of summer this year to try stuff only a few hours a week for me and no time really to play with pop pop pop clone DNA boards, as bad as evolv 40s have been for me the clones are a crapshoot!

Apologies to anyone I haven't replied to I am using Tapatalk on the water and the signal can be crapola!

Vape on!;)

Great looking Mod! Not many left in my previous post. Average price on the VT40 in the USA is around $100 so this deal is quite rare. I actually like the battery cap way batter than magnets of any flavor. Is that a "Earl" topper and if so, how do you like it?

I always liked the battery cap but just like the M and S class YiHi mods had 5 of them some complained about them but I have never had a problem or used a coin just push and twist!

I really like the erlkonigen and erlpritz I have both genuine ones and a load of clones. They really come into there own with TC vaping.

The one in the PIC is actually a franken erlk mini clone the tip is from steam tuners.gr and the quartz glass is actually a Kayfun kit I got off Fasttech fits almost perfectly. I haven't used them for a few months as the pics were taken back in June.

wow, thats insane. basically...for the price of a board, you get a mod. amazing.
Actually less than the price of a board lol......You can get the Hana One mod for that price too. And the Esquare and 3F has a single cell Esquare looking device for around 60.

Dna40's for everyone this Christmas

Welp, aren't YOU just a sweetie pie! It certainly looks to be a really kool device, SB. Thank you for thinking of me.

Right now tho...... I'm sort of swimming in mods, including a CLOWNSTICK that will be needing a new home.

But, I must say.......
