Well, I wonder if there are any differences between the XvoStick clones sold by fasttech and 3Fvape, or do you think they are both the same and manufactured by the same Chinese company?

There is a difference in price:

fasttech: $ 46.25

3Fvape: $ 51.99

Tough one to answer.

I know one person who believes (somewhat facetiously) that ALL of the Chinese manufacturers are co-located, sharing the same stuff but with different branding.

Me? I do not know.

I'm going with a no on that. Too many differences in machining. I have wondered though if one does the reverse engineering and sells the CNC specs to the others, lol! Because sometimes it seems like 3 or 4 different clones all pop up at once.

I think the FT clone does not have tc. Check that before you order if that's something you want.

Ft's does not say anything about tc and 3f's does have tc

I read somewhere that the FastTech clone does in fact have TC and that there was an error in there description of it on there website.

Of course, that was just what I read somewhere ... I certainly don't know for sure

in the authentic I am using flat tops......with mods flat tops are the safest bet they wil fit...use them in all my mods...samsung 25r or sony vtc4 or 5 are good
I am using Samsung 30q in my clone. Works well. I agree that you only want to use flat top batteries.

Someone on the FT forum asked about TC and FT says that it does have TC. They are really bad on their descriptions.

I have been experimenting with mine to try to solve the "Ohms too high" message that I am getting. Was running it in VW mode with a 1.2ohm coil. I built one that is .89ohm and the message went away. I have another that is 1.07ohm and I get the message. Looks like the chip is not recognizing the 2ohm limit in VW mode so it still is looking for a 1ohm or less coil. My solution is to live with it so I built another .9ohm RBA for it and I will dedicate the 2 of them to this box. Not so easy if you are using pre-build coils. I reported this to 3FVape. Otherwise, this is the best mod I ever owned. Love it.

Makes logical sense...
It does not give me error message till about an hour after vaping on it. Then it is constant. It's not a deal breaker for me it works just fine with error message. And with screen on the bottom I can't see error message anyways...I have to be looking in a mirror when vaping to see it

Mine is consistent. If it is over 1ohm, I get it all the time. Would be better if it was consistent across chips!!

Looks like a nice box mod clone, the main issue that would concern me (other than it being a clone) is battery life. Mine has two 18650's (an Eleaf 100W iStick) & got it for an unbelievable price of $33.95 + $3 shipping, and a genuine device. While I still have an Astro mod that was cloned (my first), haven't purchased clones for 18 or so months. A Kangertech Protank 2 clone is what broke be from purchasing such items. It was said to be an exact (1:1) clone, yet the item was far from it, leaking was a huge issue, so was gurgling, no matter what type of coil installed & even changed the base to an upgraded airflow type one that was on hand, made it worse than better. A $10 lesson learned, since I got it from eBay & paid with PayPal, didn't bother with reporting, one person said they were banned from using PayPal for life over reporting defective 'e-cig' products received.

There seems to be clones of everything nowadays, so when the iStick 100W was released, purchased before many of these are too. It's overkill for me, yet have futureproofed myself for a lifetime (at least the lifetime of the device).

Should you make the purchase, invest in a pair of well rated batteries with a case, the blue Samsung 18650's are very popular at the moment, more so than any battery of it's type on the market. Some eBay suppliers includes a case with a pair. This is the deal that I received from a fast shipping seller, twice. No issues whatsoever with the batteries & both sets are 'married', best practice when using as a set in a box mod.

Finally, you need a decent charger that won't burn your batteries up & has an auto cutoff when charge is complete. This is one that I purchased, intended for it to be a spare to my other (an Efest LUC V2), yet has performed so well that I made it my primary charger, usually 4.25V on the money, whereas the LUC V2 was generating reading of 4.30 when tested. And the cost is much less than when released. $10.90 shipped! This also charges small household rechargeable batteries, like AA, AAA & C batteries & is the seller from whom I purchased from.

Hope this is helpful to you or someone else.

Oh c'mon. It MUST be true. One big room. Little curtains and room divider screens all over the place....... ;)

I think this thread would be better off if moved over to the 'APV Discussion / Temperature Control' forum.

Ya think?

Not a bad idea at all, Flt. Perhaps @SLvapor would like to contact a mod to move it? (If not, that's fine, too.)

So it's exactly the same as the authentic (including no instructions/extras).

I'm a bit disappointed to hear that their reference to a spring loaded pin (on 3F site) was incorrect. The wrench thing is fine (rarely necessary), but spring loaded might have been nice.
The original is like this also. It is because the unit is liquid proof. All spring loaded 510's will seep any liquid therfore it is a fixed sealed pin with a adjustable screw in the top.
