Glad you got the screen replaced!, I was actually thinking after reading your post I cooked a screen on a DNA40 squonker and was going to order a screen but then I thought when will I ever use a DNA30 now? I am hoping I don't break the screen when I fit the evolv in the Xvo clone but you never know!
Yes you might be right on compatability of the screen I may of got lucky (there was an on going discussing over at the VaporFlask clone thread), it's hard to figure out exactly what the clone screens are the part number varies they seem to work between themselves as do the evolv but the part number is the same between the evolv 20,30 and small screen 40s non zif boards.
Here is a SKX DNA clone board (a 40 with the nickel purity menu) they are the only ones i bother saving the rest i just throw away, I replaced the screen after breaking the screen when pulling from the mod!
The only issue with hot air on the evolv boards are the buttons it's to easy to melt them!
I tried using an iron but found it hit and miss the hot air method takes a few seconds. I will have a good look when I actually get time there is always a risk with hot air and frying the board, using an iron I would be able to do without removing the board and less risk. But I don't want to lift any pads or tracks by over heating with a iron!
Anyhow I will work it out when I have time!
I forgot to ask how did you get the switch panel out of the XVO clone it was the only thing I didnt look into when I took it apart quickly?
Well done on getting it all working yes, thats the best part of vapng as a hobby for me the modding!
A pic I took 6 months ago looks like a modders board graveyard
