No issues yet with the nautilus.

That's because nautilus', contrary to popular opinion, are quite excellent tanks.

Our Kabukes are all 510s, so dunno, hon. I'll get a dribble drop sometimes, but never a leak-leak.

So do I, but what's that got to do with vapin'?

I plan to plate clean one of mine today. If you like, I'll take pics. Of the plate.

*BASH BASH BASH* lol

You've learned well, young Grasshopper. Go then, for there are other worlds than these.

Just sent VA an email, asking if there was a possibility of scrounging or otherwise getting an xvostick with stainless. I guess there is always the pro, but why get a bigger "pocket" mod with a 3500mah 26650 when an LG 18650 has 3000 (if memory serves)?

You are correct, and those batteries have been wonderful for me.

18650 or 26650 is a very personal issue. For my tastes, the 18650 is about as large & heavy as I wish to go. Any more and it would lose out to my Billet Boxes every time. Again though, that's a personal thing, and my tootle puffing style allows me the flexibility of choice.'

Higher wattage vapers would likely be suited better with a 26650.

I guess I could always get some of this

brasso-wading.jpg

Brings back vile memories of polishing brass Army insignia.

We've both got plenty of brass cleaner, but to Kat's point, I'm not comfortable going at the buttons. I'm afraid some might get inside.

So, it's the ONE mod that I'm going for the patina. I even threw a patina wrap on it, just to make it appear like I wanted it that way. I shaved my head, so many moons ago, for similar reasons.

I'd sure love to hear it, West. I'm guessing it's more complicated than a blister pack, but it might be a fun read. ;-)

Naw, not complicated, and it's how I do all my brass buttons when I'm too lazy to remove them. Brings surfaces to fine consistent luster.

Using blue painters tape, cut a few thin strips to mask between and around the buttons. Doesn't have to cover all around the button like you were masking for paint, just enough to keep the pad fibers away from the anodizing where it does show through. Then mask the entire button side of the mod, placing the tape widthwise, not heightwise.

Put a medium (maroon) metal finishing pad on a flat surface. Holding the mod button side to the pad, move it widthwise gently and steadily in a straight line, using very little pressure, the length of the pad and back. Check progress, making sure none of the masking edges are lifting up. Repeat until you like the finish. Can't recall exactly, but the brass should look totally fresh in 6-8 strokes.

One thing to be aware of. The pad will impart its own fine grain to the finish, which will be crossing the deeper circular machine marks of the big button surface. Still will be a vast improvement over tarnish, but if you think you might not like that don't do it by this method. Instead cut a small swatch from the pad and work the buttons with your thumb in a circular motion. Personally, I prefer the more consistent look of the linear method.

Wise man, you.

(stop it. i SAID wise "man")

If anybody wants a dry technique for renewing the brass buttons lemme know. I emphasize if because nobody really seems to want to do it.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pick me! I wanna know! I wanna do it!!!

:D That was some abrupt downshift, Kitty Kat. I could hear your gears grinding from Los Feliz. See, I told you I didn't think anybody really wanted to do it. :p

Oh well. Back to the lonely solace of my untarnished brass buttons.

{cracking UP!!!!!!}

I'll admit that I'm somewhat on the fence. I probably won't, as you had anticipated, but it is rolling around up there (lotsa space for it), and it may just make it's way out, in the form of courage.

So, in all seriousness, THANK YOU, West (I'd have never known or guessed).

De nada, @DPLongo22. BTW, the name's Tim. My avi name sucks; just use it for the sake of continuity with other sites.

Ah - you DO have a name! It's nice to have a name with a... name. :D

Hi Tim. I am Dave/David/whatever, or some other choice names that my kids (and some ex-girlfriends) have for me. :censored:

Dave or David (or DP - it truly matters not) is fine, thank you very much.
