Received this morning from VapinArt. Recommendations on what I need to check to make sure I have a good model?

CONGRATS, F2V!!!!

I think you're safe, simply with the LE. I haven't seen a clone of that, but there is a way to check the authenticity of an Evolve DNA40 chip. It's documented somewhere in these pages, but I can't remember where. Someone here will know and present...

What do you think of it?

Oh! And I seriously doubt that VapinArt would put their reputation on the line, especially given their other offerings, by substituting a clone for an authentic. They're a pretty reputable company, in my opinion.

Just remember - the return policy is seven days. So put it through it's paces this week. I believe you'll notice any issues immediately, if there are any. The two most common are:

  1. It won't fire at all (which you'll know imediately), and -
  2. Sticky buttons. Again, you'll recognize it quickly. The thing will keep firing when you release the button.
Outside of that, it's quite extraordinary (IMO).

Sorry - I wasn't better at phrasing this - I didn't mean to imply that I was worried it was a "clown". I agree that VapinArt wouldn't sell one as an authentic. I was wondering about the 2 issues you listed. Thank you for that!
Just had it a few minutes and so far am very impressed - y'all weren't kidding about the size - this is incredibly smaller than any of my other mods (with the tank - even). Threw on my Merkava and it is performing wonderfully in TC with a Ti build - no fire issues and no sticky buttons. I am so glad that I waited for the LE - really happy with the SS buttons!

EXCELLENT!

And yeah, the SS just blows the brass away. I often have the two sitting next to each other, loaded for use. The difference is amazing. WELL worth the extra cost, even with the LE impact (which I kind of like). But if you're going to do something, you may as well do it correctly.

Congrats, again. I think you'll be pleased.

Welp my Xvo is currently a shelf decoration and nothing more... :(

Was watching TV when I started noticing an acrid smell, went to pick up the Xvo and it was verrrrrrry hot to touch.
Managed to unscrew the battery cover to stop it firing without burning myself. Battery looks fine (not that I'll use it again after that!), exterior of the Xvo is fine w/no sticky buttons or anything (which is not what I was expecting, the Xvo was firing). I'm assuming something shorted internally.

I'll pull it apart later in the week when I have time, but I'm expecting some melted wiring and/or a charred DNA board. >.<
