My plate moves perfectly in my authentic. I actually bought mine because in Chels first video he mentioned it being user serviceable, which it certainly is. I muck around with alot of mobile phones changing screens and chassis. The Xvo is certainly easy in comparison.

Also I see no real need to adjust the 510 connector, if the chip is reading my atty all is good. I have only moved it once and that was just to see how it worked.

I use a Rose V2-S on my Xvo, with a vertical nickel coil flawless fit and does not add too much height. The other tank I use is the Aspire Atlantis V1 0.5ohm coil, with a Kayfun V4 drip tip installed. Both great vapes.

The Kayfun V4 fits nice as well but things start getting a bit heavy with this installed, I am not a fan of of the extra height.

FYI The Silicone Case for the joyetech VT is a perfect fit for the Xvo Stick. The buttons are exposed through the screen cut out. The screen is visible at the bottom and with a little cutting can be made fully visible.

Yes, there's prolly no real need to move/adjust the plate, but I do believe a quick check (once in a while) underneath for any possible vliquid isn't a bad idea.

And the reason for yesterday's fiasco was that it was not reading any atty at all.

@DPLongo22 -- what say you..... shall we turn this info/situation over to the Small Donkey for some Chellian advice?

All our plates moved perfectly too, Hunter. We've had them off, numerous times, for cleaning and what-not (you'll want to do that if you haven't been).

All of the sudden, and out of nowhere, one of Kat's stopped firing yesterday. Tried a bunch of tanks, none fired. So she adjusted the plate a bit.

Upon replacing it, the grub screw just kept going in. It never tightened, and she was paying very close attention to it. The next thing she knew, it was ALL the way in, and lodged itself sideways. The plate became completely immovable (for her).

She was quite upset by it, and understandably so. With all we've been through with these things, at this point we both want them to be absolutely flawless. But sports cars never are.

They're great for people like you, who don't mind mucking around with stuff. For people like us though ("Just PUSH the button!"), there are better options (with even more coming soon).

I LOVE the mod but HATE the attention it requires.

Clean under that plate! Ask your fellow countryman, @vakaion .

Keep the good stuff coming, thanks @hunter.

I concur that the difference between authi & clone is significant. The vape was considerably different too, much more so than I had expected. The clones are fine for $50, but it's definitely a $50 mod, and the only common factor is the body (which is plenty for some people, so it's fine there). It wasn't enough for me though, so mine passed through my hands very quickly (a month maybe, almost untouched).

Unfortunately, we're now in a position of possibly needing support again, and I don't think we're going to want to go through anything again (just a case of battle fatigue). One of our four stopped firing, and then complicated itself when the grub screw turned all the way into the base, and appears to have spun sideways somehow. It's now firmly stuck with no ability to turn the plate.

I was being VERY careful with it, as I was doing it, so it's definitely not a case of "not paying attention". Somehow it wasn't lined up properly, but I've done it enough times to know that it felt perfectly normal. It makes absolutely no sense to me, but I've become somewhat use to such scenarios with the Xvo.

Thankfully, it's not the last of ours, and we're still plenty-well-stocked with Xvo's. I'm now at the point of trying to decide whether to, (a) attempt to turn the plate using brute force (which I can likely do), or (b) selling it off cheap to someone comfortable enough to open it up from the bottom, and resolve it that way.

We're discussing the options, and sitting on it for a week or so. We're feeling no pressure as one of our two favorite vendors recently announced that they're coming out with some new options sometime soon. Knowing them, and the marvelous work they do, it's not out of the question that the Xvo's might get pushed aside (aka "sold") anyway. We're thrilled with the Xvo's (outside of the issues we've had), but part of that is because they're a bigger, stronger version of the unmentioned ("favorite vendor") mod. Depending on what rises from their announcement, well, you know.

As much as I love the Xvo, I'm truly beginning to think it's for people who aren't afraid of opening something up and diving in. It's analogous to sports car in that regard. Just MY opinion, but the more I see, the more I think it might well be an accurate one.

When they're working properly, it's a VERY tough mod to top (for my vaping style, at least). But it definitely requires more than an oil-change-every-3k to keep all cylinders firing.

"Gentlemen, start your engines..."
Who is this favorite vendor and what new mods??? Don't hold out on me, I've got the fever?!?!?!?!

No problems, when I do these repairs I will give the under side of the plate a clean. If it ain't boke don't fix it is my motto. I do like to maintain though. I actually own 5 real sports cars (Datsun 240z's) and yes I love those the same as my Xvo, probably for the same reasons.

That grub screw being stuck under the plate seems to be a bummer, would probably most definitely need to be fixed by unscrewing from the bottom. I would be guessing that some force is going to be required with some pliers.

When I pull mine apart and replace the guts I will post some photo's or create a dismantling guide for it.

Haha I was wondering why I was tagged! I don't follow this thread anymore. :p

Yes, the occasional check for juice build-up underneath is a VERY good idea. It may be leak resistant, but it ain't leak-proof... no matter what they claim.
I'd had the grub screw stuck sideways too once. I managed to wiggle it back into position myself, albeit with a LOT of cursing involved! lol

Regardless... an Xvo is no longer part of my vaping line-up.

Welp, Ms. pokes, it just happens to be BBV (Billet Box Vapor), and since we both own QUITE a few of the precious darlings, we have a feeling (a pretty strong one) that we'll be equally DELIGHTED with whatever they have up their sleeve (which is as of yet, unannounced).

Here ya go! The up to the minute news! :D

a LOT of cursing, eh?

My verbiage yesterday would have shocked and embarrassed a drunken sailor, and only came close to my ordeal once in the snow when I fell off of a chair lift..... and was soon trampled by everyone else getting off that lift. Yes, I swore, and can do with the best of 'em!!!! :D

Oh, and vakaion, I don't know if I feel BETTER that this happened to you, too, or WORSE! Yikes. I did try to wiggle it back, but the thing has a mind of its own.

Tomorrow it will fly into the strong arms of my dear bestie to see what he and a pair of pliers can do.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX fingers for us!

Innokin really needs to make the VTR V2... The VTR was my daily vape for a number of years, I have modified so it will take 22mm atties and also the Aspire Atlantis with a little groove. But recenty bought an Athena 22 ATHENA eNVy 22 vapor kit consists of 75W all in one box mod and EOS40 tank it has not arrived yet but I thought it was worth a try as a back-up device.
Nothing I have seen beats the Xvo for form factor yet though. I do not understand why side by side recessed mods are not more popular. I equate this phenomenom as the "iBeige Revolution". Touch screens only become popular with the beige masses in mobile phones when the iPhone come along, this meant the death of the QWERTY keyboard phone. Much like box mods are popular in the vaping world, with single 18650's this is just not nesassary.
But a box is most likely cheaper to make than a recessed mod, much like a touch screen phone is cheaper to make than a phone with keys.

Funny, I just bought an Athena 22 as well that isn't here yet.

The shame of all this is that the asking price for the Xvostick is not out of line, in fact it's actually reasonable for a DNA40 mod of this quality. The problem (as I see it) is the lack of customer support when situations such as sideways grub screws happen. Case in point I just had one of my DNA40 mods have a problem, still waiting to hear back from the modder & will have to send it to Italy. The only saving grace is that I know he will fix it, it may take some time but I have 100% confidence that it will be taken care of. This mod cost me a bit more than an Xvostick would but if I am paying a premium I expect excellent customer service........I hope you guys can get that Xvostick back up & running, it's too sweet to sell at a major loss.
