Question for those in the know, could the coins and metal body of the rx200 complete a circuit and cause a battery inside the mod to vent through the ground before the loose batteries themselves vent?

Either way this guy is clearly carrying loose batteries in his pocket like a ..........

I'll put on my armchair quarterback outfit and go out on a limb here and say the loose batteries to change to mod case short causing the mods batteries to burn but leaving the loose batteries intact didn't happen and couldn't happen. *tosses ball .... touchdown!* waits for official investigators review of the facts...

I'm a teacher and it's been my experience that approximately one in ten families do not have the internet (in line with the statistics). Perhaps a few are Luddites, but generally speaking most are low income families. Low income people smoke and low income people wish to quit as well. All I'm saying (again) is that everyone who buys high drain batteries should be warned of the hazards. It's really kind of a no-brainer, as far as I'm concerned.

I live in a poor neighborhood and I have dealt with poor people. These people are not going to buy a $100 box mod, $20 batteries, $40 tank and the liguid. These people don't own cars, wear used clothes and can barely afford to smoke generic cigarettes. Internet is cheaper than owning a cell phone if they don't have internet they just don't want it. Just for reference; my local cable company (buckeye broadband) offers internet access for $20 a month, no contract.

Well then you're exactly the guy to answer the question. Why present yourself as just someone "winging it"?

Then not possible?

FDA BOC
Hey I'm always winging it haha. I really don't see how Eddie, a short of the pocket carried batteries against the mod body passes current through the mod body metal and back to the pocket batteries. However for a short internal to the mod, something has to short across the internal batteries positive and negative connections and I don't see how the external short circuit could do that.

See that's the stuff I don't get about electricity and I'm pretty capable. Metal body attached to ground, ground attached to battery holster yet none of that external charge would make it to the batteries in the mod? Confuses me like two-way switches....

It's like birds on a power line, doesn't hurt them unless they complete the circuit by contacting two lines.

Makes sense. Figured that after reading your post a few times.

My next theory is that possibly one of the cells wasn't "married" to the other two ....

FDA BOC

Who knows what happened, I doubt un-married batteries would do it. Reason being is most mods these days are constantly monitoring each cell's voltage and won't fire if the voltage is too far from each other. I know for a fact that Joyetech's boards do. It's pretty darn hard to get a well built regulated mod to vent cells. My vapor flask lite won't fire above 50 watts with my mxjo because it detects voltage sag and stops firing.

Very true. Totally a mech thing. 5 batteries,3 in mod,2 loose in pocket with change. The batteries that appear to have been in the mod either have clear wraps or no wraps or wraps damaged in incident. Maybe loose batteries in my pocket guy removed the wraps on his batteries?

That could easily short on the contacts in the rx200. Without a wrap it's only mm separating +&-

Well, most mods aren't $100. You can get many for $10-40, Same goes for tanks and batteries. My cheapest internet where I live is $60 per month and you might want a computer to go with that, add, at least, $300. You can vape for less money than you can smoke, even generics. And just because you're one of "these people," as you put it, doesn't mean you don't care about your health.

Most regulated mods where I live are $100, batteries go for around $10 each and a sub-ohm tank cost around $40. I live in city with a population of 280,000. You can get a tablet for around $100 these days and plenty of places have free wi-fi, including libraries. Btw "these people" refers to people making less than 20,000 a year or on assisted living, not race, color or gender.

There are no acceptable regulated mods to buy at all...where I live!

I order them...when I want it. My most expensive was 50$ around. Last one I buyed, because...I am going exclusively to mechanical in the future. Lasts 4ever with some effort!

And I am taking care of my batteries...with the highest level of attention possible.

No reason to keep going around in circles, but for whatever reason, 1 in 10 in the US don't have the internet. Also most of the pipe bombs, from what I have seen are cheap mechs.

Sent from my LG-K550 using Tapatalk
So you're saying 90% of all other people are the resources and your 1 in 10 only needs to ask 1 of the other 9 to do a Google search or borrow their tablet/phone/PC.

Let alone the fact that other than college students who will just go to their local Wendy's/McDonald's/library for free WiFi, most of these people would have little to no interest in E-cigs.

Unless you can express quantitatively and fairly accurately, the connection between your 1 in 10 and ecig usage, there's absolutely no significance in your assertion in conjunction with ecig battery education or lack thereof.

ETA; Furthermore, once again... not one article or news story outlines any data about the user of an exploded ecig suggesting they were sans Internet capabilities.

This is changing.

Mechs are phasing out.

It used to be only an ego issue.

Then mechs took center stage.

Next phase will be largely regulated devices again.

Strange how the model thats popular with the hipster/ younger/ image conscious crowd always seem to be center stage, innit?

Im seeing a pattern develop.
