Yeah I guess diagrammatiks. Seems like having a car that only has idle and floored setting for a throttle in TC mode. I believe you have at least 2 YiHi. So how do you like them? Ever use TC with them?

EDIT: I do like to looks of the SL class though. ;)

I’ve tried it. I don’t really get along with 2 battery mods really. If I’m not vaping at around 35 Watts tc I’m doing 200 so my g, q mini, and paranormal sit on the shelf.

That being said replay and the dna are going to win for ease of use but most people aren’t going to be able to notice a difference between the two chipsets.

Couldn’t tell you about dry hit protection. I’m used to using mechs. I’m checking my cotton every 6 hits ocd style.

Really? Since YiHi does that pulse width thing for temperature control, how is this ever going to give you a very smooth and accurate TC?

The Yihi ADC runs 48kHz 16 bit samples. Faster than CD audio sampling (44.1kHz). My tongue sure can't hear an issue. Believe that's 48x faster than DNA processes. I have DNA chips too but they sit idle since the Yihi is vastly easier to deal with and much more ergonomic to use. To each their own...

As it goes from high power to off, high power to off, etc. This method is never going to give you a smooth and accurate TC. As the temperature is jumping from high to low and back to high again.

Heck Vaping with Vic, he showed in his SL video of him vaping it dry and then he pulled the wick out and it was charred. Exactly what I would expect from PW-TC. I bet the coils also has burnt juice on them too.

You mean those isn't calibrated?

The same make and model of a mod doesn't share all of the exact calibrations. To do this correctly, it must be done on an individual bases. For example, Daniel of DJLsb Vapes usually gives you his calibrations for a given make and model of DNA mod. Yes it should be very close to use for your mod. But a TC aficionado will probably do this anyway regardless whether the manufacture has done it or not.

And as the mod ages, the calibration could change. With DNA you can adjust for this. For YiHi, how? Do you have to hack the firmware and place in new values? Where on Earth do they hide them at? And what good would it do anyway with that PW-TC going on?

I will be doing a review on the SL class next weekend. It will be easier to show along with a screen shot from an oscilloscope than try to explain it by typing on this thread. I will work your question into the review. Thanks for asking this!!!! It's great to know what questions folks have about devices.

The DNA doesn't work that way. They don't have pulse width anything. They use DC instead and vary it depending on which direction it needs to go which you can see everything happening with EScribe's Device Monitor. Or on the DNA color screens, you can see it on the mod's screen. But I already ordered a SL Class and I'll see how well this TC actually works. ;)

ALL TC devices have ADCs that read resistances digitally to feed data INTO the processing unit.

True, but YiHi pulses to try to get to an average temperature. And it doesn't seem very efficient either. As say the SL Class needs 35A to create 100 watts. That is horrible. That is like 50 to 60% efficiency. But we'll see when mine comes in a few days. Bottom line is what does it vape like. ;)

Yihi chipsets are very accurate chipsets.
Odd... I just got my YiHi SXmini SL Class SX485J yesterday and I am not seeing this. Even Daniel of DJLsb Vapes showed how horrible the 100 watts signal looked on the scope. And I am using the same settings I do with my DNA mods on this with the same Crown 1 tank. And sometimes it hits right and sometimes it hits anemic. Switched to bypass my accident (dang tiny joystick) and switched back and the temperature was locked on 716°F (it was not adjustable). I wonder what would have happened to that dual 316L coil if I hit the fire button?

Turning off and back on, no help. I had to remove the battery and put it back. Btw, those are the worst grindy threads I have ever seen. I've seen $15 mods with far better threads. Plus it turns very hard. Feels like the threads are cross threaded. I almost need a wench to take the cap on and off. So this is what people mean by high quality YiHi mods?

Because Yihi makes both mods and chipsets, you are guaranteed a perfectly calibrated unit while some manufactures do a poor job of calibrating DNA chipsets to their mods. I have the ml, mini Q mini, and G classes. They are all very fine mods.
I never met a DNA that didn't work well with the default calibration. Plus it isn't hard to do the calibration yourself either. And there are others like Daniel of DJLsb Vapes who has already done it and you can just use his numbers. And the color screen DNAs has Replay. And TCR, wire type, cold resistance, mod calibration, etc. is all thrown out of the window since it no longer matters. Since the DNA's Replay accounts for everything automatically anyway.

Back to my YiHi SXmini SL Class SX485J, I can't even use the YiHi software. As I get an error "The driver installation failed." I looked for help on YiHi website and they are no help. I looked for YiHi forum and that doesn't exist either. The firmware instructions that came with the mod talks about Bluetooth functions, but the YiHi SXmini SL Class SX485J doesn't even have Bluetooth. Is this what people mean by YiHi high quality?

I dunno, I really like my SL Class. Ended up with three of them in the stable.

As for an overall mod rating, I much prefer my SL Class over the LV Mirage. I'm comparing these two mods based on the relative size, the 2x700 capability and they are close in price range. I think the threads on the SL Class are a little janky yes, but it's a much better mod than the LV Mirage. The Mirage feels/looks cheap compared to the SL Class.

I'm not comparing DNA and YiHi chips, I think they are both good quality chipsets, I pretty much always vape in power mode. However, the YiHi does a good job in TC as well once you get your vape dialed in. The YiHi pulses quickly enough that I can't really tell it's doing that unless the wick goes dry. Different strokes for different folks.

Yes, YiHi does need a lot of work on their software for firmware updates and tuning. No doubt about that.

There's another recent thread around here where some of the firmware update issues were discussed. I had to have the battery out of mine for it to install the driver and recognize the device.

The LV Mirage is like LV budget mod. I always stayed away from that one. Making it out of plastic? My DNA mods include:

3 Wismec Reuleaux DNA200/250
5 HCigar DNA133
4 Hotcig DX200
4 LV Triade 200/250C
4 LV Therion BF 75C
2 Paranormal 250C
4 LV Orion
--- And a Think Vape Finder 250C on its way

The vast majority of them cost less than my YiHi SXmini SL Class SX485J and they do vape better. And the SX485J chipset is supposed to have a 94% efficiency. Well most mods I can vape 5 to 7 ml worth of juice from one Samsung 25R 18650 without a problem. Although with this SX485J, I'm on my fourth tankful and it is getting repeatedly 4ml per charge. So this isn't impressive either. I dunno... I'm just not seeing this high quality mod thing. I haven't fired up one of my Heatvape Invader Mini in over 2 years. But it seems to me that vape was even better and so was the threads.

Ok, lol, I guess I can safely put you in the "not a fan" column.

Anybody else having anemic problems in TC with their YiHi SXmini SL Class SX485J? When it happens, the screen turns off when you press the fire button and turns back on when you release. I thought maybe the SL was drawing too much current supplying 25 watts with Samsung 25R cells. So I figured I'd give it a 35A battery (Samsung 30T). Nope, same thing. :(

There is an update out that may fix that. It mentioned something about the screen turning off. Only problem is I can't get the thing to connect to the computer, lol. I'll brace myself. Incoming!!!

Nope. No problem in power or tc with 40Ts. Before or after update.

OMG! If you were able to do the update you need to publish a tutorial, lol. I lost most of my hair just getting the driver installed. Mine has been flawless but I would still like to be able to do more with the SXI.

I’ve done Yihi s/w updates before so I knew it would be an adventure. I googled it and followed someone’s directions on Reddit I think. Basically I had to take the batteries out when the instructions don’t call for their removal.

I will say it took a few times of plugging and unplugging the mod from my laptop b4 it connected to the software but I had the same issue with my DNAs and Vaporesso firmware updates.

Good luck!

You inspired me! I went back in. Ya, I used the same term as if I were re-entering a war zone. It did the update!!!!... battery out. Then I put the battery back in and initialized the software and it actually stayed connected!!!... Holy Crap! The little lock symbols came off of the SXI and Customize options and I figured out how to build a curve in temperature instead of Joules. It's working!!! You can watch the Joules change real time on the mod as the thing works through the curve. It is actually more like replay than conventional TC using this. I won't say it's as accurate until I vape it for awhile but it is definitely working.
