So I'm at the Bon Jovi concert at the Verizon center in DC. I made it through the entire event, vaping when I felt like it. During the very last song a security guard grabs me (not a good idea) and yells that I "can't do that here" and "it's against the rules in the gym". I say "sorry, It's not smoking but I'll stop" and put it away, not wanting to make a scene. The funny thing is, the whole place is filled with "smoke" from smoke machines... Everyone in there was vaping for 3 hours. I also looked for some "rules" for DC or the verizon center to see if they did, in fact, make it against the rules to vape in there but couldn't find anything.

I don't feel the need to vape it up everywhere just because there is no rule against it. I smoked for years and never had a problem going outside or not smoking around other people. It just seems silly that thousands of people breathed PG for hours but somehow I'm the bad guy with the E-Cig. Oh, and it was an Ego C twist with a vivi nova tank, not exactly a cigalike.

PS, the concert sucked except for "Wanted dead or alive".

I get that at concerts all the time.
The worst one- I went to go see Heart in Vagas a few months ago. I was vaping, just rocking out, everyone is having one hell of a time. This huge security guard comes up to me(now, when I say huge..really big. I'm practically a midget) and says, "Miss, you need to put that away." Me- "Sir, this isn't a cigarette, and it's odorless..It doesn't seem to be bothering anyone." Him-*grabs my e-cig(Bad, bad idea)* "Miss, please co-operate. Swing by the office after the concert is over to receive your device" I was ......, ranted a bit and ended up getting it back. Like you said..there's no rules stating otherwise.

I think the nonvaper logic here, apart from a power tripping rent-a-cop, is that smoking bans are really in place to try to make you stop smoking, not for general public health. That being said they don't want you to have any kind of tobacco or nicotine anywhere. Why do you think delta is now tobacco free on their flights? Because snus really annoys a passenger five rows behind you?

My two teenage children treated me to a concert last summer: Loverboy, Pat Benatar, and Journey. I had my Provari and Altsmoke BB on a lanyard, both carrying cartotanks. Before going thru the security check, I asked one of the security people if I could use my "vaporizers" inside, showing them both to her. She said they would be fine. But again, this was an outdoor concert.

I'm planning on going to see Muse later this month in an indoor facility, and am concerned about bringing my devices in there. I have since acquired a couple of gripper box mods (Smoktech VV Gripper and an Ovale V8), and am planning on sneaking these in and stealth vaping during the show.

I'm still a little concerned that they still might be confiscated if seen by security. I might pick up one of the $12 Smoktech Grippers, that way if it gets taken, I'm not out that much money. Pretty nice little stealth PV for the money. Would be nice for the cinema, too.

I applaud you who are brave enough to vape in public. I made a video about this and some of the older vapers told me I should probably just go out to the smoking areas. I want to stomp my feet and say, "but I'm not a smoker!"

I hear ya! I would add "and don't want to be forced to be exposed to second hand smoke!"

After posting that, I went to Got Vapes to get the direct link and it must have been on sale the last time I looked at it. It's now listed at $16, still not a bad price. Mad Vapes has it too for the same price.

Wow, you probably felt like you were in elementary school again, eh?
