Any one have schematics for a mail box sensor to tell you when there is something in their. All it should require is 2 led's a photo sensor and a battery. Maybe add a solar charger. I have longer driveway and am tiered of going out to the mail box every half hour to see if my new stuff has arrived yet. =] Also the mail man is starting to think I'm weird because I will be out the door in a flash if I see him pull up. =]

You read my mind today. I also have a long (and steep) drive. It's been a pain today, especially with it being as cold, windy and snowy as it is.

I've got one of these, but I didn't build it, I bought it. It's called Mail Chime. Soon as the box gets opened, the unit on the counter in the kitchen beeps and the light flashed red.

No more going out in the rain, in the cold, in the heat...and mail doesn't sit there waiting either. I can't see the box from the house, and it was driving me nuts.
