Those smoker lung pictures are bull anyway, they show people with emphysema. If you don't get emphysema, regardless of how much you smoke, you won't have black lungs.

More fast a loose operations by the anti-everything brigade. Technically they aren't lying when they say "these are the lungs of a smoker" but they are being incredibly misleading by making people believe smoking will turn your lungs black, when that's flat out false.

EDIT:

I starting writing my post before Leal posted, so I didn't see his before I posted, when saying smoker lung pics are bull I mean the ones shown on TV and cigarette packs, not the ones in the video linked to. I just wanted to make that clear, I wasn't calling Leal's linked pics bull

I smoked 48 years guess mine must look like the one on the right. What's funny is I take no meds as opposed to everyone I know in the prescription world and have no major illness. I don't particularly like doctors or believe every thing they say. Everyone I know is on some kind of drug be it blood pressure, cholesterol or some such crap. I am beginning to think a lot of this is just the money machine in the US.

Make health insurance illegal, force the medical industry to go to fee for service payment, and watch the price of healthcare race to the bottom.

You might even see physicians making house calls again.

I'm sure my lungs were somewhere close to the image on the right. But, if the internet is correct, I should be slowly making progress back to the image on the left (he says, deftly swinging back on topic).

Dear people,

Please tell me you know those pictures are fake. Some of the posts make me think that's not clear. The image was created to express a point, which I think it does well (except I can't get the visual of smoked dog bones out of my head when I look at the one on the right).

I'm a graphic artist and can go down point by point to show you where it had been edited (although I don't think any of it is real), but I shouldn't have to; consider:

1) Where would the stylist get two sets of lungs, very close to the same size and shape, with such a dramatic difference? Flesh begins to deteriorate as soon as it's outside of the body unless preserved in some way, which changes the color and shape - especially under studio lighting. I know this because I have sculpted meat.

Well, next week I'm having chest x-rays after eight years; been vaping two. Hopefully I can get some type of image files for the old and new films. If I do, I'll post 'em.

My last x-ray had evidence of low level emphysema. Hoping the new ones will positively indicate why I'm enjoying no coughing, no lung junk, higher O2 absorption (92 to 98) and a 'new world of breathing'!

I am also a graphic artist/photographer and I once sculpted butter for an ice cream add (butter pecan).

Back to the topic though, all I know is I breathe a lot better now that I've been vaping for as long as I have so I'm pretty sure my lungs have improved.

My feelings exactly. I don't trust Big Pharma. companies to help anyone but themselves. That's cool, but people should keep
their eyes wide open. I hope those stories about your lungs regenerated healthy tissue after you quit smoking are true. Like
you, I think mine are black as a coal mine.
