You were right all along. I kept hearing it, and ignoring it. Dripping is soooo much better than messing around with cartridges. Seems like I was always having to top off, fluff it up, mop up leaks, pry it off of the atty, extricate runaway poly fibers, etc so on. Worst of all was the taste of burnt plastic. I've tried the blank carts, polyester fiber fill, Fluvall, all of the above with the straw mod (better), then the PTB - Pyramid Tea Bag (better yet), and the brass screen mod. But still, I had leaks, poor wicking of my VG-based liquids, burnt plastic, yada yada.

All of that is behind me. I feel like a teenager that wouldn't listen to what her parents were telling her. Eventually it all sinks in. At least it did in my case. I find it much less troublesome to plop two drops on the atty than to try to figure out why my juice refuses to leave my cart and go where I want it to. AND ... I'm wasting much less juice. Lesson learned. Finally.

I enjoy dripping, as well. Unfortunately, my life makes it difficult to drip most of the time, so I have to use carts for the majority of my vaping. I've tried all the different cart mods, and most had their good and bad points. Right now I am using the "Eheim Filterpad Mod" (Not exactly, but that's the thread title for the mod), and have found it a suitable cart mod. Long life, easy to make, easy to clean, and good taste all the way through until it's dry.

Check out the thread in the Cart Mod forum if you're curious.

But yes, dripping still rocks.

I have settled, for now, on three basic setups...

1) Dripping using my 510 Chuck and the Direct Drip Cart mod
2) Dipping using my 510 batteries with 306 atomizer and contact lens case
3) Cartridges on my 510 using the blue foam mentioned above

I am happy with all three of these methods.
And each has their place in my world.

But if there is no ban, then I'm going to try me a KR808D-1 and that may change everything.

There's nothing like the gurgling sound of a good drip. Personally, I don't drip, or top off, or use carts. I do it all. They've all got their place.

Dripping is a great way to boost the flavor, but something people don't mention much is it's one of the best ways to pace yourself. It's so easy to over vape. When you drip, it's easier to say, "Two drops. That's about a cigarette worth." And put it down.

The drawback is I can't drip enough to make the 7-10 minute drive to work. What works best for me is one drop on the atty and 3-5 drops on the cart. Gives me a great start, helps improve the draw, and enough longevity to make it to work. A love a good long vape (the only draw back to dripping).

My 510 doesn't flood nearly as easily as my 901 used to, but I'm still a little flood-shy. Sure it's easy to blow out a cart, but I hate to waste a single drop of that nectar!

One of my friends at work is just a born dripper. I've now got her on a 510 battery with a 306 atomizer. She's been vaping for about 5-6 months now and (gasp!) has never cleaned, filled, or stuffed a single cart. Dripping is the good life.

Just soak your atomizer on a regular basis and you'll be a happy little camper.

P.S. Just don't drip at night. You don't want to wake anyone when you drip down the the side of your hand and yell a not so nice expletive!

I've started dripping too, simply because no matter the mod, a cart just can't keep up with my chain vaping. I've had so much wasted liquid from cart fillers that simply won't wick properly; the liquid either leaks everywhere or sits stubbornly in the cart, refusing to wick onto the atomizer. I only use a cart nowadays when I'm out and about, and that isn't very often since I work from home.
I just got a lovely order from diyflavorshack.com, and I flatly refuse to waste a single drop of that precious liquid in a cart; I want all of it to go to use.

*Side note; my mother, of all people, sent me the package from diyflavorshack as a b-day present- how freakishly awesome is that?

Your mom said not to say...
Why don't you get a model that doesn't require topping off, constant refills, dripping in order to get satisfaction, cart mods, filler material and on and on.....3pc models are PITA, get a cartomizer and be done with all that crap. Why do people insist on buying these things when it's clear they are inferior in every way? There is no way I would buy a car that I have to modify the brakes for them to work properly would you? That's what your doing with these things. I just don't understand the appeal when there is a clearly better product available. Why eat hot dogs when there is steak right there as well? Glad to hear that you are having good success with these though so whatever it takes to stay away from smoking tobacco cigarettes it's all good if your goal is reached.

Haha yea I agree dripping is amazing it's the only way I do it ever since the start aside from the 5 packs of carts I ordered thinking it would be a better way but dripping just gets way more vape, taste, and enjoyment with less fiddling with the carts. I ended up 3 packs of carts and drawing the liquid out with a syringe so I could fill up one of my empty bottles because I liked dripping so much more.

I have to disagree that its a good way to pace yourself though because I always just vape until I feel satisfied. It doesn't matter if it's carts or dripping, if I don't have the nic fix I need I keep vaping and with dripping I tend to go overboard sometimes haha but never enough to cause problems I just get a slight headache and then put it down.

As far as your drive to work have you considered having 2 ecigs with their attys dripped and ready to go and then use one till it runs out then switch to the other one when the first runs out? I have a 45 minute drive to my first ob and a 20 minute drive to my second job. I have 3 attys ready on the way to my first job and it runs out as I'm turning onto the road my office is on and I have 2 set up for my second job so I still have a few hits left when I get there from the second ecig. I have 7 batteries and 6 attys and my PCC though so I don't know what you have I just throw any dead batts in the PCC and grab a fresh one and have never been stuck without a battery so just a thought.

Well that was way longer than I thought it would be hahaha so in conclusion...dripping is absolutely amazing and the only way I will vape unless carts get some upgrades that let them work way better than they do now.

If modifying the brakes cost literally $.05 and took 30 seconds, yeah I would. Especially if I got more speed (vapor) and handling (throat hit) from this car than another one.

:)

Not saying that cartomizers are bad, and I use them when I'm out and about and at work, but I certainly think a good ol' 510 is much better when you're sitting at home with a passthrough and a bottle of juice.

Well, it looks like the carts just got an upgrade! I know it's probably a sin to mention carts in a dripping thread, but I really think you'll like this. Anthing called an Auto Drip Mod is worth checking out. Works great but without the gurgling!

 Ha ha - I'm right there with ya Professor Daffy!!

I tried this mod yesterday. It was actually pretty amusing running all through the house looking for clicky pens like one obsessed. After I converted three carts with one spring, and was able to vape and keep vaping and keep vaping on a single cart ... I realized what we have here. It's amazing!

My biggest problem with wicking has been the necessity of using VG based e-liquids. It's thicker, and doesn't wick as easily as PG-based. This new cart mod has all of the same advantages of dripping without the actual action. How cool is that!?!?

I did the same thing, trying to find a pen that "won't be missed" until I can get to the store. I haven't been converted to carts, don't get me wrong! But now carts work, period! They no longer fall into the nearly useless or PITA to fill category. I now have something to put in those spaces on my PCC besides dust. :)

There is a girl a work I was thinking of lending an atomizer, battery, USB charger, and some juice. But how do you teach all the nuances of topping off or dripping. Instead, I can make her 5-6 working carts that will finally perform as advertised!

I can finally see the benefits of carts now. For the right occasion that is!

When carts suck juice, carts suck less!

--Prof Daffy
P.S. Just try not to smile or giggle when you co-workers start shouting, "why doesn't my pen work?"
P.P.S. I'm notorious for stealing the spring out of peoples pens at meetings when they're not looking. I like the look on their face when they try to write something!
