Bad, you tout me a battery lesson ones. You were kind and I was dumb. Thanks. As for you circumstances, they will go away. Enjoy your freedom for now. I was unemployed once. These three months were maybe not the best in my life, but really close to it. My wife and I just enjoyed free time, we saved on food but not on gas and drived all over US. Sometimes I dream I am unemployed again... OK, maybe it’s a bad joke, but nevertheless…

Just a quick update of sorts,,,,

For the last 3 -4 weeks I've been house-sitting my ex-wife's house rent free, allowing me to continue to work a little to save enough money to get my car fixed/up and running again; (I've been driving my son's car for a few months)/ This was a rental property which she will be turning into her new residencce/ In return for her kindness, I hung new blinds in all of the windows, did some painting, pulled up old carpeting, and other handyman tasks/

She moves into the house in a couple of days and I will proceed with my earlier plan to live with my brother; I've only had access to the internet very sporadically, and this post will likely be one of the last for a while/

I really appreciate everyones well wishes and luck for the future/ Hopefully I'll be able to land a fulltime job with a vape shop in my new location in northwest Ohio, although I will also pursue other possibilities/

So very sorry to hear this. :( I don't post much but do read the posts and I have learned a lot from you.
I will never understand why bad things happen to good people. I will pray that things take a turn for the better for you.
You are such a good guy and deserve for happy blessings to come your way.
I hope to see you back here soon. Keep the faith.

It's nice to see you, Lynn. In WHATEVER context. You already know that you're presence remains here, so these updates are appreciated. Please continue taking care of yourself and we'll look forward to your eventual and triumphant return.

You are missed and remain the topic of conversation for many people.

All the best to you,
Dave

In the short time I've had the privilege to read your posts I've looked forward to your sage advice and measured responses to questions. You will be sorely missed and I just know that there is an opportunity for you somewhere in the Vaping community that will offer you gainful employment. I wish you the best and look forward to your return. God bless you!

Take care of yourself, friend...and good luck! "It's always darkest before the dawn"!

My DH went a year before he found a job too!!....he was 69...(he's 71 now, and, yes, still working!). Yes, age discrimination raises it's ugly head! I lost my job a year before I retired...and I had not just the "age" thing going, but I'm disabled too!! No one wants to hire us "old farts"....we want too much money, and we want health insurance!!

You are in my prayers...

I just saw this thread, so I'm sorry to be late to post, but as another relatively new member, I also want to thank you for the all the help you've provided so many, myself included.

I completely agree with you that age discrimination is alive and well here. While I don't know what your background is, I am a headhunter for one of the nations largest executive search firms. Please send me a PM and I'll reply with my work email address so you can send me your resume and I'll if anyone in my company can offer some help.

Keep a positive outlook. Even us "old farts" (yes, we're about the same age) have a lot to offer.
