I prefer my wicks very short. I cut it about a quarter of an in out of the coil and when I wet it I stick it down into the juice channels. I never let the wick touch the base. It is not needed. Doing it this way I've never had a leak and never a dry hit. Works perfectly and no worries about clogging the air holes. There is a you tube video of a guy that also wicks this way. A quick search and I'm sure you can find it. I've tried many different methods but this one is by far the best. Check it out.

After the leakage episode. I rebuilt with a 24ga, 10 wrap, .3 build, wicked like as always (similar to my v1) and closed off the juice flow a bit....and it seems fine. Weird because my first build was my usual 26ga, ,4 build, with the same wicking and it performed flawlessly. Oh well, we'll see as we go I guess.

It's VERY rare that I have a tank leak. I'm beginning to think that this was a flooding issue for whatever reason. You know, we want our tanks with unrestricted airflow.
Therefore, we have huge airflow holes, with huge juice channels, and the vacuum is protected by a 5 cent Chinese rubber o-ring. It's a wonder it doesn't happen more often.

Curious what juice you use? 50/50? 70/30? etc? I know the video and tried it on all of mine and they leaked like a waterfall :) Hence, my comment as to how one method can work for many, but not another, etc.....I often think percentage of juice used on any one instructional video is an important detail left out that should be considered by all.

I use a variety of ratios. I usually go for 80/20 but occasionally I just buy whatever my local shop has in stock which some do not disclose the ratio for whatever reason. Same with aliceinvapeland. Unless you ask for a specific ratio you get their "optimum" blend. I have found that there is such a thing as too short so that could be your problem. There is also too thin. If I cut it too thin or too short then yes it leaks like crazy but a little trial and error and it seems to be the best way "for me" to build on the V2. The other ways either seemed to limit air flow or clog the threads which made it really difficult to remove the base sometimes. My next build I will try and follow your post to give it a try and compare but I'm a little lost on what you are talking about in some points.

I have 2 Goliath V1, and the only time it has leaked is in the extreme heat here in the North East Summer. Going from a cooled environment to outside where it's 95F and 80% humidity messes with it. It's gonna stink in the Winter when I go from outside where it's 30F to inside 73F, etc. This is why I dived in to RDAs. I am hoping they will be easier to deal with in the Winter since they don't work off the vacuum method like tanks and no leaking issues.

Then the simplest explanation since u seem to understand already how to cut them, etc, is that I personally just don't find that threads in the channels work...for me......might for someone else. Mine aren't too short for they don't leak so in my case i have the proper length and all but i just found that because the cotton sits right above the channels, it rolls right down into it anyhow so theres no need in my case to put wick into the channels...if I do, it floods. I tried a little wick, a lot of wick and just a bit and nothing worked............really its just trial and error and you figure out what works best for you . I only spoke up because i have seen many others quote the same video as if its a must that you must put the wick down the channels but i am living proof that it doesn't need to be....for some people......I rewick mine every few days. Unfortunately I just did so a few hours ago and never thought to take a photo but you will get the right spot for yourself....u know that. Uve been at this long enough and know it always works..anyhow, good luck, its a great atty

I'll admit I was wrong, the Goliath v2 is awesome, been using it for about two weeks now, and its my 2nd favorite RTA atm, behind the flavor beast that is the Goblin Mini.

Initially I was turned off by no dedicated top fill function in the feature set, I thought juice control with no top fill? That's dumb, well little did I realize I was being dumb, and you can top fill easier than on the Gv1. While I still think they could have made this RTA a bit better with a native top fill feature, in reality top fill works fine by closing the JC, and just taking off the top cap.

Interesting. I've never thought to try that..the proper way of filling never bothered me...will try it..
I always hear people talk of the "pressure"...so top filling doesnt somehow affect it with a loss of pressure? ( not that i really know if such pressure matters)

Never been one to top fill for too many attys, once I have unscrewed the top to take it off, the chimney might have been screwed in to tight and it comes out with it and then the coils are flooded---have always avoided for that reason ;(

One thing to note is after filling, and closing the top cap, pressure is built up, so to avoid flooding, I will tip it upside down, then open the juice control back up, so air is rushed into the chamber instead of juice.

Does anyone no if you can get a new base or maybe just the build deck my screw threads are feeling a bit sad to heavy handed I guess
I'm hoping they become available for sale as an accessory but haven't seen them yet. They have the zephyrus rba head available as a separate accessory for that one, so hopefully they follow suit with the Gv2.

You may want to contact Youde to see if you can get a replacement part.

Haven't heard as of yet but I hope on Fasttech soon they will. I know today they came out with clones there of this one which look very good. I am not an expert on clones to say whether they are or not but in my brief experience with them, the size is always off a bit so i doubt they would help but i often notice once those hit there, spare tanks, decks, etc often hit........if all else fails

Found 8 Goliath V2 Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Noticed one lone review that says its bad but here is a thread that suggests the reviewer is likely a fake, etc (interesting to read, i thought)

I'm perfectly happy with mine, it has become my all day tank. Flavour and vapour are fantastic. I'm not that keen on the goblin mini because over 30w it gets just too warm!

My only issue with this tank is it will leak like a biatch if its kept on its side for a while. Like I discovered when I went to the cinema and had a pocket full of juice when I pulled it out my pocket. Stood up right and it fine. I use 85vg home brew juice.

Here's my build, dual clapton running at 50w on my sxk vaporflask

I currently have a dual, 2.5mm, twisted 28ga build in mine. The trick to making it work is to keep the coils high. I haven't noticed flavor being affected in any way, though I sometimes get a little spitback. I would normally keep my coils closer to the airflow holes, but they catch on the chimney's threads.

Took the words out of my mouth, I was harsh on the Gv2 at first but now I am really enjoying it and it is my daily pocket tank since I can just turn off the JFC and not worry about big leaks. Have been using the same top fill method and it works perfect. The goblin mini is my favorite tank for when I am out partying or drinking at the bars because honestly it looks ....in amazing on a tube mech, and let's be real people looks do count when socializing ;)
