vape your brains out(as mentioned earlier)and don't pressure yourself. You can do it. I went from 3 1/2 PAD to 0 immediately using 24mg. Two weeks later I was at 18 and now recently dropped down to 10mg. It's been a little over a year now for me. It takes a little adjustment but nothing unbearable.

Good Luck!

well i was able to quit cold turkey first but that was because i had motivation (breaking the cycle by making sure my son never saw me smoke aka i found out my wife was pregnant). but a layoff made that difficult so i got the initial cig withdraw done but the noise in my head need to quiet down (i was having dreams about sneaking outside all the time to smoke. it scared the crap out of me).

the e cig silenced the dreams. i started on 18 mg then went to 11 to 12mg then down to 8 then down to 4 then now i am at 0. i know you think i should just drop the whole thing but i cant. (each time i try to leave my apv i start having dreams about sneaking out to vape after a day or so). I managed to reprogram the award center of my brain somehow so the nic doesnt matter. (one thing that changed with the switch to 0 was that i went from vaping about 1-2 mils to 5-7 mils per day).

I must say,, u scare me! You have gone 2 weeks and would love to light some,, that scares me,, OMG is it gonna take 2 weeks??? I gave them already,, in my mind,, in my house,,, I put my remainders in a ziploc bag in the freezer,,, that was around 9:30 I believe,,, DONT SCARE ME LIKE THAT.

Hahaha dont worry i was a dual user , vaping in the house and smoke outside :) i only got into vaping because i was smoking waaay to much but anyway that a story for another time...... Dont worry and take it easy if your looking to fully quit because for some people its not easy , me personally like i told before i dont really "crave" or have urges for a cig i just miss it in occasions like tonight was :) for me rain used to mean it was time for a cig hehehe i stop drinking coffee because i only liked while smoking now that i dont with vapor just doesnt feel the same so i forgot about it.

Hard part i will say is the habit , the little things that you use to do while smoking !

Think of it this way: unlike anything else available, vaping provides a bridge, as it were, that carries you from smoking to not smoking over the "troubled waters" of withdrawals. This "bridge" makes it so that the smoker does not feel any discomfort in the process. There are some smokers, though, whose "bridge" never quite forms completely and a gap remains; still, this gap is small enough that a small hop will take him to the other side, i.e.-quitting. If you feel that your "bridge" didn't fully form, rest assured that quitting with the help of vaping will be exponentially easier than quitting with any other method. I hope my analogies make sense.

My last was when my e-cig kit arrived. Perfect timing I guess as the kit was in the mailbox and I had 2 cigarettes left in the pack. Smoked the last 2 while the unit charged and haven't had one since. The nifty thing is I haven't had the urge for one either and I'm around smokers all day. I rotate flavors to keep it interesting and vape when I feel like it. It's been 3 1/2 weeks for me and I feel great...

Everyone's journey/addiction isn't exactly alike, so it would be unfair to yourself to become disheartened if you don't quit cigarettes the first time you vape. If it takes you 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years...this is YOUR journey, and it'll take as long as it takes. No pressure. :2cool:

Above all else, don't beat yourself up over it. You just add anxiety and we all know where that leads. It's not an easy thing to accomplish, and you need to be proud of yourself for deciding to quit. Like others have said, vape vape vape your head off. But if you really want that cigarette, have it. At the curb. Not in the house, not in the yard, not in the car (god will the stench EVER leave my car?), make a rule that you can have one, but only at the curb. (Put your lighter as far away from the cigs as possible, to really make this a pain in the rear.) And make a rule you have to brush your teeth immediately afterwards because you will stink. But allow yourself the knowledge that you can have one, just to give yourself a little peace of mind, a little bit of serenity to help you get through, a little pressure relief valve. It's easier for most people to say, "No, I choose not to have one" than to say "No, I can't have one." You can do this. If you slip, you slip. Move on. Count how many fewer you have than you would have before, not how many you have. Do not give up. I am putting some of my willpower into this post (Nrrrrrrrgh! Feel it?) to help you.

Cheers!

From my experience the first 3 days with no cig were the hardest. I have not smoked a cigarette, not even a drag, since 8/22/10. Yep the first 72 hours I was a cranky depressed sweaty nauseated insomniac! I was only vaping 6mg prefilled cartos in those days. It is truly a wonder that I did not relapse. But, I had flipped that mental switch that told me I would never smoke again. And by the end of that 72 hours I felt so much better and never looked back. Almost 2 years cig free now!! To everyone here, you can do this!! One day at a time. If you do have a stinkie, do not beat yourself up. Just get back on the vaping horse and take it one day at a time.
