Restaurant manager, sometimes I think it manages me more than I manage it.

I was self employed, landscape design and installation, until 6 years ago when the economy tanked. My wife taught with a girl who's husband owned a Chick-fil-A. They were looking for someone part time to do some marketing. Part time lasted 2 days, and to my suprise I actually enjoyed it. I ended up staying there 5 years and took a position with another restaurant just over a year ago.

My favorite job was owner of an aquarium shop. I started out managing it and ended up buying it. My retirement plan is to buy/start another one and play with fish till I die:)

I am on disability, but going to school for a MBA, and planning on opening my own vape shop early next year I am just working on getting the funding down(which is about done), the LLC finalized, and finding the building that would be suitable for the shop because I would like to have a nice area where you can test juices with a couch some chairs etc...I already have my business plan done so the bank has accepted that and approved that for funding, I just need the building to purchase before they will finalize the funding to allow the money for start-up capital. When all is said and done I think I will have about $25,000-$40,000 wrapped up in my business to start out. I never knew how expensive it was to start a business but hey if it gets me off of disability and makes me more money I am all for it! Oh I am on disability because I have MS and Fibromyalgia...both diseases suck but I deal with them rather well and my MS isn't progressive right now its in "remission" so to speak so needless to say I don't need a cane, walker, or wheelchair! :) Thank God for that!!

That is good news. My daughter has MS and just had to undergo another round of intravenous steroid treatment and is doing much better at the moment.

Retired - My main job is to maintain our vaping equipment and DIY juice. Other than that I'm now a lazy bum and thoroughly enjoying it. I also suffer with major depression and severe anxiety disorder and rarely leave the house, or my chair.

I had 10 years with a major wireless phone carrier in CS center as Operations Manger. CS Supervior for a small regional airline until it went bankrupt. Operations Manaager for a major cruise line in CS center. 10 years with the first foreign auto manufacturer to have a plant in the US on the assembly line and as an elected full time union rep until the company closed the plant. Other than that numerous odd jobs over the years in between times such as selling cars, paint store, fast food, etc..etc...

I'm a logger--a skidder operator that maneuvers a rubber-tired tree skidding machine down slopes that you couldn't walk up or down.
I hate admitting that when everyone else here appears to be a white-collar worker.
Oh, well--everybody has to get their 2x4's and toilet paper from somewhere.:)

And your career is just as important, don't ever doubt that! Without you we'd have to live in grass huts and wipe our butts with leaves!

Without me we'd be walking or riding bikes and such....I worked 30 years in a car manufacturing business..on the line, making fenders and such.

I'm self employed I have a few pieces of heavy equipment(all Cats and Kenworth trucks) I do site prep for new house construction Lot clearing road construction foundations septic systems It's seasonal work so I get some time off in winter :)

Then when you're sick of it you can just start renting the machines out. Or is that more difficult than it sounds? (legislation or other unknown crap)

It's definitely not the easiest thing You could pick to do There are so many rules and regulations and the MTO is a nightmare CVOR's permits It can be a real PIA Some times I rent the equipment out but only with my operators or drivers There my bread and butter My best friend is a well planed Day and a little luck Helps I really love what I do so I embrace the challenge :)
