Now it would be refreshing to see some follow up reviews 6 months later... a year later...

I agree. If djlsb did this with his charts, I would actually watch him. But since a lot of his charts are based off of reviewer specific pre-production models, and most of the time I don't see him listing what firmware he is testing, I find his charts useless. If he would do follow ups and list the firmware versions that is tested, I would absolutely watch his videos and take his testing serously, dispite his obnoxious personality and attitude.

I genuinely think if you want to put in the time to be a youtuber reviewer and develop a loyal following that is totally fine. I mean, if I were to put the amount of effort it would take into the endeavor and etc., I'm quite sure it's difficult.

I do think there are a few "armchair" reviewers who feel they can "do better" but I'm not one of them. I also refuse to get into the "politics" of reviewing that much, I simply don't care that much. Oftentimes I am simply grateful that someone has taken the time to show how to build something or how the menu works and etc. I could care less if they are swearing, changing their hair color, denigrating or praising the equipment, etc. IF they have followers, they are "doing it right."

While it is arguably harder these days to "do it right," you know, you can PUT IN THE WORK and like, just review stuff you have, ask people to watch... and they will or they won't. But seriously if a few vape companies have asked ME to review something, well, sorry, I think it CAN'T be that tough honestly since I have done a few not so fascinating or in depth written reviews let alone a single youtube one. Unless they think I have extra time on my hands (although this past year ish I certainly have) but that doesn't make me a competent reviewer, more like a bored housewife, LOL.

So if you are upset, you just REVIEW and see where you get. It's easy to critique from the armchair it truly is, and if they are making youtube or even vape equipment income, they worked for it, that's between them and the vape company and I have zero interest.

My favorite vape personage is Mooch. And, he labored TIRELESSLY for the safety of vapers for years, for free. I still think you are underestimating the power and WHATEVER reviewers have. They just big up their personality because well, they have the temperament to be reviewers, I guess.

I'm a pretty excellent singer.... In my living room. With that said, I do not have the temperament of a Lady Gaga and probably my WORST performance would have been, like, climbing scaffolding while singing, or even LIP SYNCING I would have stood there, frozen in horror, like some sort of goat. I mean, you have to have SOMETHING to commit to a ton of reviewing and I am NO performance artist, lemme tell you.. A lot of my worldly bravado comes to DISGUISE the fact that like, there are times I'm shaking in terror I for sure don't want to get in front of a camera and demonstrate ANYTHING. LOL.

But if you want to ciritque you go ahead and review. See if you make it, and if you don't, well, know your strengths. I know mine, and while it's nice to be asked I wouldn't CARE for it, really.

Yeah I find Daniel's testing to be inconsistent. I've told him many times already to be consistent with his charts and that he should not skip other mods, but yet he still does. Because of this I unsubscribed to his channel. :( He has a lot of potential, but I find he seems to be to busy to do precise testings. :(

As much as I would also appreciate follow up reviews and measurements, I also understand the time and effort involved in performing such measurements, creating a video on them, editing said video and then uploading which even with todays high speed links can take hours. That would be a huge undertaking and cut into his regular reviews. And given that many companies release several versions of firmware, when does the follow ups stop? His channel would not be as successful if he only reviewed a handful of devices with multiple follow ups vs reviewing a multitude of devices with little to no follow ups.

Jai also expose the big fiasco with Kidney Punch wire mislabelling their products. The only reviewer that I know of who did so. How far would that QC mishap have gone if he did not make such a big deal out of it. That serious **** to those who may have severe allergies to certain metals.

I dont mind Jai that much, his personality can be a bit much at times. But hes never had that delusional "vape god" mentality or vibe I get from the others where they pretend to be actually "reviewing" things honestly. Even if I do get a little annoyed at times by the shouting in his videos, its nothing compared to Rip trippers. Youtube really ate up rip trippers and spit out this mutated husk of what Rip Trippers (probably) once was. Jai has admitted up front hes an entertainer first, he accepts money and generally how much, as well as shows communications with vendors, etc. While he may be a bit abrasive, and im certainly not a fanboy of him. I respect that he doesnt bull.... who he is and what hes doing. As well as the many jabs (putting them on the spot about the coils) at other reviews and their holier then thou attitude. I think the whole "hazer army/squad/gang" is also pretty extreme but to each their own. He goes way overboard with the drama. But unlike most reviewers he does break stuff down, scratch it, destroy it, drop test it, etc which is also nice sometimes to know.

edit: when I say most other, I mean Vape Team/Not Another Vape Show. That whole crew. Trying my best to avoid specifically naming people.. sortof..

edit2: Please dont rope me in as "one of those jai haze people" !. The drama, constant incomprehensible shouting, etc is too much for me.

Does it come with stickers? I don't care what is written on the back of the sleeve the instruction book came in. Does the sleeve include stickers?

I realize the techno-geek type do not care about that. Those who prefer watt settings in 0.1's don't either. And many reviews cater to them. Great.

Where is the fire button? Easy to push? Too easy?( Pocket fire issue), what do the other buttons do? How many clicks for on/off? What drop in's fit? I can figure out the rest.

Me? I want short, to the point, English reviews that cover the basics and mention when they come with stickers.

Does it come with stickers? That’s a bit of an odd request if you don’t mind me saying. Or you havin' a laugh?

Packaging is actually very important to many. Have a look at one of the most popular YT channels ever, Unbox Therapy (shameless Canadian plug)! Lew’s claim to fame is showing off packaging, and he’s quite wealthy for doing so.

Yeah, I mentioned that whole large undertaking thing in my last post in this thread, but I personally would prefer no charts than inaccurate ones. Spreading inaccurate info is deceptive and hugely unhelpful.

He could absolutely run the tests again on select mods that prove to be popular, and on all teats he could always clearly state what firmware is being tested so people know that the test results are invalid to an updated firmware that they are running. But he doesn't, and that just makes me feel a sort of way about him.

Look if you want that sort of review, start doing one. It is really that simple.

I wrote a long post about it earlier, I'm not wasting the time to do it again.

Those who are good, do. Those who are less so, teach. Those who are really dreadful at something, critique.

PUT YOU MONEY where your mouth is. If you hate every reviewer so much.....

Oh but wait, don't want to do it for free, you want the 1K up front????

That is NOT how it works in the entertainment business, and like it or not, that is what the review business IS to a GREATER than lesser extent. I don't care how colorful someone is if they suck, but there are many colorful reviewers who are good at their craft. Etc.

How are his measurements inaccurate? Have there been other objective measurements made to debunk his claims? And just to state, objective measurements and not ones subjective views.

LOL….ok. So I guess every review on every upgradable piece of tech is also inaccurate? Lets be realistic.
No, now you are trying to make it sound like I am saying something I'm not saying. My point is that a firmware update destroys and invalidates any testing results he does. Some mods may not get updates, so it is helpful there, but on a lot of popular mods that do get updates, his results are for a firmware that is outdated and likely not used by many.

If he would at least list the firmware versions, it would help so people would know that the results are not valid in these cases, but he does not.

To be fair, both of you guys are right! [:

If their accurate results for that firmware, then thats not really deceptive especially if a lot of people use that firmware/prefer it over the newer version so that info is still relevant and useful to some people. But it should also be stated clearly to prevent the spread of misinformation!

Therefore both od you guys are right! Neither of you are wrong in this situation!

Were all friends here [:>
