Yuck!(And hello)

Hi all, another newbie.

My mini e cig (DSE-901) arrived this morning.

It's a pleasure to use and I reckon we will get on fine apart from one major problem, it tastes awful!

I am a heavy smoker and use Cutters Choice rolling tobacco, the cartridges are regular tobacco flavour, high strengh (18mg).

The taste is sickly, and stays in the mouth for ages, I can also smell it on my hands for ages and actually feel physically sick for the first time in years!

Any ideas please as I really want to stick with this but was hoping for the tobacco taste rather than the other available flavours.

its doesnt taste like tobacco-none of them do.

many people dont like it at first,but soon get used to it,and grow to really like it.

you just have to acquire the taste,so give it some time mate.

I've noticed that they ALL seem to have that same taste -- not really like tobacco, but an e-cig taste. I haven't found it too bad, but it's definitely not like tobacco (or mint, or whatever it claims to taste like).

Most tobacco-like is probably one of the various Marlboro carts or liquids (Sedansa is very good).

I'm presently trying the Turkish blend and cigar liquid which is slowly overtaking my favourite which is Marlborough. Which these don't tend to give you the sweetness of others

When I first tried my ecig I couldn't stand the strength of the vapour, it irritated my throat. I used to smoke Golden Virginia roll-ups so I thought I needed high nic. cartridges to take away my cravings. I had to squeeze my cartridges and dilute the juice with veg. glycerine and distilled water before I could stand the taste. The reduction in nicotine has not been a problem for me as far as I can tell. I don't miss cigs at all now but it took a while to get the vapour right. I now have a nice flavour by adding vanilla extract to the mix.

Turkish blend and cherry are my faves - I actually tend to favor the sweeter tasting e-smoke which is strange for me as I don't have a sweet tooth in the slightest.

Mind you, we're not really talking taste at all - it's entirely aroma that gives the flavor.

Is the Malboro flavour available in the UK?

The place I bought the ciggie (The Electronic cigarette company) has a very limited selection.


I took it with me to the pub last night, I could have sold 4 or 5 of them there and then!

Thanks Kate, I've been reading about the JC stuff, sounds good, I can't wait to try it.

To be fair the tobacco carts don't seem to be quite so "yucky" today.
I guess it was the sudden change from many years of smoking Cutters, in fact I tried the Cutters again just now and it doesn't taste as good as it did.

I got the marlboro from a UK stockist the one you got yours from. I got full 18m in the form of e-liquid I also got some catridge from Holland. I inject the liquid into the cart so its well full then for me its the best taste ever. Last sunday I smoked 50+ normal fags then Monday started on the e-cig and have not wanted a single ... I am well impressed with the e-cig. I have also tried every other method going and have not had any luck.
On monday it will be a full weak without the normal fags.
I also have a cheap e-cig but find that well soaking the cart gives me a realy good kick.
another good tip I have found is I have 4 batteries and 2 chargers that I got from the uk shop so I allways have a well charged battery.

Stick with it dont smoke any normal fags and you will get used to the taste very quick

Yes, well when I first tried one of Janty's Ruyan nr4 cartridges I remember feeling a little nauseous myself, but after a few more I really began to like it. Obviously there are some flavours certain folk are really not ever going to enjoy, but as Mr Darcy has pointed out there are others that are an acquired taste. Ruyan nr4 is very much one of my favourites now.

Well folks it's a month since I gave these things a try and...................

they are brilliant!

All you newbies, have patience.

Learn exactly how they operate so you know why it's maybe not functioning as it should.

The taste WILL improve, it now tastes far better than rollups to me.

Buy the e-liquid.
