Ive always been wanting to try one of these.. Now are they really worth it and how hard is it to use and make your own wicks etc? Im not too familiar with the rba type of thing, but ive heard this device produces an amazing vapor and flavour. How exactly does it work? And how much juice does the tank hold? Or is this supposed to be meant for dripping? Sorry im a huge newb when it comes to these RBA's.. Any help would be much appreciated!

I like mine a ZAP but I filled the air hole with JB weld and drilled it at 1/16. Its a well made atty but there are others just as well made. Zen stuff is forever. No one can say its not made exta heavy duty. Making wicks and wrapping coils takes a little practice but its a a easy skill to master.

I think Zen products will always have a following but others have taken where he went further.

Its not a bad idea to start out with a dripping atomizer, also called an RDA, first.

Ive got a couple, one that Ive really taken too, is the A7. Its small, so you'll get used to working in tight spaces, but its easy enough to build it, and Ive seen people making dual coils on it too. Its got an adjustable center pin, its bottom feeder capable, it comes pre-coiled, there is no side-air hole toline up with the coil, the top screws on, it never leaks unless you get crazy with overdripping... Its a perfect starter RDA and its very versatile. Its sitting on my Provari in front of me right now.

Also, the Igo attys are nice too. Igo-W for dual coils(single coils OK too), Igo-L for singles, Igo-S for a mini size, Igo-F for a dripper/tank convertable model. the Igo-W or L would be my suggestions, the W being the more versatile if you wanna try dual coils.

But they're not a genesis atty. And I get that. So..


Wanna try a genny without forking out the cash for a beautiful Zen?

AGA T2, T or T+ are all good, cheap Gennys, very popular and they look sharp

Smoktech RSST is a very noob friendly Genny, which happens to preform like a boss.

Any of those will get you into a genny, including buying a bunch of mesh and wire, without spending close to the 140 that the Zens cost.


Now, Im not knocking the Zen products, I for one think the Zenisis gear is sex on a platter.. but if you're unsure if its for you, its a chunk of cash that you dont NEED to invest to find out.

So the device will short out if the wick touches the bottom of the tank, where the juice is? Is that true or false? I know it will short out if the wick is touching the top positive screw. Thanks

You don't want a mesh wick touching anything other than your coil, but if you just ordered, you got a ZAP 2.1, which comes with a ceramic wick, and it will be setup when you receive it.

I got it from someone in the classifieds. Its already setup with a coil but im not sure if its the ceramic wick or not. Id like to be able to get it as close to the bottom as i can of course... I guess itll take practice

Some people get it right away, for others(like me), it takes tons of practice, if a wick and coil is already set up, it probably is mesh. It's really not that important to get the wick as close to the bottom as possible, the biggest problem you will probably have is hotspots, where one part of your coil glows more than others. My suggestion is watch as many youtube videos about ZAPS and rba's in general before you get yours. Right now, I have mine set up with a silica wick, they are much more forgiving and easy to set up, in my opinion.

I just got a used ZAP... and I filled it. and used it a few times and layed it down. and all of a sudden all my juice is gone??? It seems like it went up through the wick hole and dripped out all over my Provari.... Can anyone help me out here??? Thanks

Anyone? I wrapped it in 30 gauge and it measures 1.4ohms and the whole coil glows red. But i notice a very strong burning throat issue... Am I doing something wrong? And am I always gonna have to keep this thing upright? Id appreciate some help... thanks

How many wraps with 30 awg? if you are using ZAP, you are using provari? correct?

About 4 wraps of 30awg... and yes a provari @ 3.5v. coil is measuring 1.3-1.4

my main issue is the leaking. I was never told you cant lay it down... IMO shouldnt there be a grommet in the wick hole to prevent excess from spewing out into the lid and then leaking down all over my provari ? I tried double stuffing the hole with a small piece of another wick but it still drips out...

I have 2 ZAG's and I've been enjoing xc-116 as a wick. I'm not sure which size I have, but it fits perfectly in the zen's wick hole. No shorting since it's non-conductive.

Could you link me to a place to get these wicks if you dont mind? I managed to get a tighter wrap of the coil, and it seems to be working better, i stuffed 2 small pieces of wick inside the hole as well to prevent severe leakage if i lay it down as well. But if theres a wick I can get that fits snugly in that hole id love to try it. Thanks man!

Tried re wrapping again, got all coils lit up properly. Now when i go to vape i get an immediate burnt taste and harsh on the throat.. this thing is so damn fussy. ive looked at all the youtube videos possible... can anyone give me some pointers here? id appreciate it, thanks
