so, my zenesis 2 genny, is not working worth its weight. i get zero vapor flavor throat hit... I have a 1.5 ohm coil wrapped on it and it does not deliver. the carto tank w/ a 2.0 ohm carto hits harder. btw this is even after messing around w/ it.. i definitely need to do a video cause there seems to be something amiss.

my z2 carto hits pretty soft, ens is sending a new spring. I cant really run z 2.0 ohm carto, just doesn't hit hard enough. what kind of fiddling to you do to make any difference.

Mine was giving inconsistent hits, sometimes it would work and other times nothing. Appeared to be a short, would push the button and tube would get warm. Talked with Mike sent it back for him to check it out for me. I went to a few shops for assistance and they couldn't figure it out. I should have it back middle to ens.of this week. I can't wait, it hit like a champ when it fired consistently.

mine is firing weak. cant use a boge without a kick. working decent with a smoteck carto. but funny things was is my kick fried itself Thursday, almost like a short like you are describing. never had any issues with the kick. I couldn't see where there could even possibly be a short anywhere, but is not acting like there is one now without the kick. ens is sending another spring. mike said the spring would be the cause of the light vape.

Well the Switch is limiting your current. Its supposed to. Against Zen's wishes though I am having a special mod made just for the z2. It will work with all Zens. It will be a gold plated finger washer, you will no longer need the spring and it does not limit your current. I am hoping to have them back from the platers in about a week. I am hoping this piece i'm making will please all you sub ohm people. Just please note.. All Zens are set up for 32 gage kanthal and are not designed to do sub ohm for product liability purposes. Doing sub ohm is as always done at your own risk.

further evidence that a stock z2 setup is not very conductive without modification.

I doubt the OP will be back to read that Jason.

Zen has said many times, that the Zen was designed to be the "everybody's PV".
As in, new and advanced users alike could get a satisfying vape experience.

It still makes me shake my head that some will buy an object, and then complain when it works how it was designed to.

All I know is that my old 14650 Mako and 18490 Reo both blow my new DX 490 out of the water. Very disappointed!
I'm not using anything fancy or outrageous, just dripping with the same old Joyeteck atties that I've always used.

    Under load with fresh bats
    Mako ... 3.89v
    Reo ... 3.71v
    DX 490 ... 3.31v

Thanks for the video ... I did notice it appears you just pressed to switch in which doesn't fully engage the switch ( I may be wrong it wasn't clear on the video)

Not suppose to and if your not Depressing Stright then rocking to the side your not engaging the switch fully, This and the Battery rattle are done as safety features and to reduce gunk and oxidation ....also the device is designed to limit current at 1.5 ohms

Hmmm maybe you have the spring that Jason is talking about, I've been using those switches since the worst first one and im surprised your having that problem The Newest ones Hit Awesome. At Stock I even tried a Bunch of them right out of the Box and besides maybe using one or 2 of the extra washers for throw they where Great.

But the Q is "at what resistance were they working great"? Even Provari changed their chip set because a -3 amp limit wasn't cutting it.
Guess they're OK if a person is satisfied with a 6 watt vape, but heck! A 12 dollar eGo bat will do that.
I looked to the Zen because I wanted quality, both build quality and performance, and so far I'm not seeing either.

With a fresh 18490, no load

With a 1.7 ohm load (2 ohm 510 Joyetech atomizer)

Please don't tell me that's what you consider acceptable.

so, i am waiting for the new springs from jason. Also going to try and tweak a few other pieces.

In terms of the kick w/ the 2 ohm carto, my kick actually will not fire all the time or wont fire after being used a little. apparently the kick will not fire when voltage load is less than 3.2 and considering that the voltage loss on my zen is pretty big, it wont work. i need to fix the voltage drop before anything is even usable.

gona double post what I just put up in reunion area. heres what I did

I filed, very carefully, a flat spot on the bottom screw. also on the top pin, I removed the lip that is on the top part and gave the bottom of that top screw and nice flat spot as well...mike said don't mess that pin, but I did... right now I have magnets in mine and do not notice a difference between the mags and the new spring. also no difference between my filed screw and a brass one. if your's isn't working I would first contact ens and get a new spring. and check your batts, they themselves can be the source. I do plan next month to have my screws, top and bottom, replated. might go silver plating. more maintance but did some research and its better then gold. maybe start a pimp you zen forum..

You still didn't say what resistance you're using.
If you're happy with a 2.4ohm clearo on a 3.7v PV = 5.7 watts, I can see where there would be no problem.

still nothing from my new sidewinder, ive tried various attys and cartos and adjusting both pins and nothing at all, this is fast becoming my worst ever trade. i just dont understand, i really wanted to love this mod

Misplaced, do you have the battery in nipple down? I only ask because I didn't know that when I got my first sidewinder. Also, unscrew the tank part & be sure the heavy spring is under there. At least that's a few things you could check.......
