SUCCESS!!!
Thank you tybin for your pointers.
I took your suggestions, but I also decided to take the device apart, and it was then that I noticed something: At some point I must have screwed a carto down too tight, because it had pushed the contact that touches the part of the battery down a bit, and there was a slight gap between it and the white (delrin?) piece on the bottom of the tank.
I pushed it back in, and when I screwed the carto back into the 510 connection, I placed my finger on the bottom contact to make sure I didn't over tighten this time so it would stay flush.
Filled the tank again, and now I'm getting fantastic performance again.
The only questions I guess I still have are:
1. Is that bottom contact supposed to move, or was it my user error? If it isn't, should I replace it?
2. If that was indeed the problem, how would that affect the performance?
In any event, at least I know how to get the great vape I wanted out of the Zen Carto.
Now it's time to order a Z-Atty for this bad boy.....
