Misplaced, do you have the battery in nipple down? I only ask because I didn't know that when I got my first sidewinder. Also, unscrew the tank part & be sure the heavy spring is under there. At least that's a few things you could check.......

hey long time!!! i had no idea about the batt nipple down.. ill try it...... batt nipple end down and spring there... still nothing. thanks for trying to help me.

You still didn't say what resistance you're using.
If you're happy with a 2.4ohm clearo on a 3.7v PV = 5.7 watts, I can see where there would be no problem.

I have a carto setup, so testing under load was difficult to figure out. so I tested under load with the carto top and used a 1.6 ohm atty.. so 1.6ohm atty loaded read 3.77. .... the batt was low. no load it read 3.9. so not that much losss. I retest again later and post results. my memory isn't so great.

hi misplaced :)i have had some inconsistent fires with the 510 connection on. have you been able to remove the connector? also take apart the switch and clean it. come back and tell us how many washers are under it.did the past owner leave it all ss or change to brass?
still nothing from my new sidewinder, ive tried various attys and cartos and adjusting both pins and nothing at all, this is fast becoming my worst ever trade. i just dont understand, i really wanted to love this mod

misplaced, it sounds like your 510 connection is not making a good contact with the positive pin of the 510 top cap. Your 510 cap may be bad. I have a couple of them and am going to be at Keystone Chevrolet in Sand Springs on Wednesday if by chance you're going to be in that area. Just send me a PM and let me know. I'd really like to see you get your Sidewinder going.

no way would that be enough for me. your switch may need to be cleaned or your spring replaced. give that a try, as that is way too low

glad you contacted Jay
so, i am waiting for the new springs from jason. Also going to try and tweak a few other pieces.

In terms of the kick w/ the 2 ohm carto, my kick actually will not fire all the time or wont fire after being used a little. apparently the kick will not fire when voltage load is less than 3.2 and considering that the voltage loss on my zen is pretty big, it wont work. i need to fix the voltage drop before anything is even usable.

tiff, how ya been? im not real super clear on all your saying. ive had the 510 connection off and tried to raise the pin. now tell me on the switch... to take it apart do i just remove the screw? are the washers under it? just dont want to break anything, lol. the screw in the switch is brass. the one in the 510 is ss

hey ksmith, im not understanding about the 510 connection not making good contact with the positive pin of the cap. as far as i can see its just an ss cap with an insulator and an ss screw that goes into it. large spring below inside the mod. im not traveling alot right now as i just had surgery not long ago. wish i could come up that way though as i want this baby to work
Also, have you checked it with a meter?
how can i do this, i have a multimeter in my vape box. thanks again all, i will learn, lol.

Misplaced, your sidewinder one with the genisis style tank right? Just want to be sure I know what we're talking about. ;) As for taking the switch apart, just unscrew the screw & it will come apart & yes, it's easy to put back together. :) It's always good to take apart & clean your switch every so often, you'll be suprised the difference a clean switch can make. The washer(s) sits right under the screw.......

Hang in there & I'm sure we'll get your sidewinder working. If you were still in Michigan I'd come look at it for ya!

yup. Tyler pretty much nailed it misplaced. just lay it all out on a paper towel. if you find no washer, you may need one to raise that screw a tad. it way not be making contact with the battery. while you have it apart, soak the parts in some PGA or Iso alcohol. examine the spring too. once back together, make sure that as you push the putt on down, you do so in a way that the button is actually pushed to the side so that it makes contact with the tube.

I think I would Ask Jay from ENS for some help. you never know what the last owner did.it definitely sounds like you are not getting a connection. that switch really needs to be cleaned if it had stuff knocking out. but I would be looking at taking off the base to check for gunk and I'd suspect the 510 connector too. sorry you got something from someone without them disclosing an issue.
ok, i toook the switch apart and it has 1 washer in it. when i tapped the button on the counter a powdery substance came out of it. got it back togather and still nada?

what could possibly get up into the switch? funny thing is i know the 2 previous owners and i was talking facetime with the guy the night we traded and i watched this mod make clouds. he maily used an a7 and an rsst on it. he sent an a7 with it but it wont fire. its almost ogt to be me,lol.

misplaced, see if the A7 has a floating center pin in it and if it does, try pushing it down a little. I have a AGA-T that I was having the same issue with (would not fire on my Provari). Once I pushed the center pin down a little so it would make contact it started working like a champ.

Just wish I wasn't 2 hours away from ya cause I think I could have ya blowin clouds in no time.

You have to totally disassemble the switch now and then on any mechanical and clean it .... some of whet zen design lengthens this time take pics of all the Parts ;)

odogg_mia

can you suck the juice out of your tank, Pull the carto out, blow out the Z2 carto base real real good, And blow out the carto gently but good .... soaked good is great But you want the tank to bring in most of the moisture try that Then fill Per Mikes Video
