Greetings folks...

I purchased a Zen2 Medius (gun metal) from the classifieds recently. I'm having a hell of a time getting this thing to fire with any regularity and my pinkie is getting sore as hell in the process.

It seems as though there's a certain angle that the button needs to be pressed from in order for it to fire. Or maybe it needs to be shimmied at just the right part of the button press. Sometimes I whisper sweet nothings to it. Even if everything goes perfectly, it still won't fire about 50% of the time.

I'm fairly certain there's no user error coming into play here. I've read through the previous several pages of this thread in an attempt to get this problem resolved. Somebody mentioned a hot spring from AltSmoke resolved the issue for them.

Is my difficulty typical of the Zen2 out of the box?

I've always wanted a Zen hybrid and was really excited when it arrived, but I'm getting ready to throw this damn thing through the wall.

I had the same issue, a new spring and screw fixed the problem.

Thanks for the reply Iowa Gal. There is only one washer.

It's more than a push up/sideways situation. I fear there's something flawed with the switch aside from the apparent lack of washers.

Regardless, I'll be off to the hardware store in search of a second (and third...and fourth...just in cace) tomorrow.

Thanks again.

make sure everything is clean, try a washer or two maybe a new spring and contact screw from ens if that doesn't work contact customer support they are good at helping people get them working right also

The State of Confusion
Hi,

I love my Z-Atty for my Provari!

I have read on your site and others about Silca wick material.

Of course mine came with ceramic wicks only.

So what are the differences between ceramic, SS, Silca?

(I am torn between a Sidewinder or another Provari  I only had mech' previous to my Provari, so I am a bit partial).

Thanks in advance!

I dont have any experience with ceramic sticks, so idk how they perform. Ive heard they're great once you get used to coiling them, as they tend to be a little brittle. But otherwise Ive heard they wick great and last a long time. Just what Ive heard.

As to the difference between Silica and Ss Mesh.. Its two different ways of vaping. Personally, I find SS to have really crisp true flavor, all the time. Silica changes as you vape it. I also find that if I want to go real low resistance, silica is the way to go. Generally on mesh, I only go slightly below 1ohm at the most. Generally .8-1.2ohm is where I play. If I want to go to like, .5 or .6, I need to use silica, as the mesh doesnt keep up. But I dont usually vape down that low.

Silica is easier to set up. Just wrap, attach the leads, and vape. SS mesh requires you to oxidize, wrap it up, coil it, work out hot spots etc etc. Once you get the hang of mesh, I think its a really great vape, but Silica can be a little less headache inducing, and is still a great vape.

There is also something to be said about the juice. I dont like bright fruity stuff on silica. On the flipside, Im ok with whatever on mesh.

These are just my findings. There are others who have been doing this longer who may have different opinions as well. In fact Im sure of it. I like both Silica and Mesh and use both pretty much daily. Since trying rebuildables, Ive been spoiled. The only non rebuildable vape I even bother with now, is a carto tank, and thats more for the fact that I just dont have enough Zens for all the juice I like to vape. But clearos and vivi's.. They just dont provide a satisfying vape ever since I bought some Zenesis stuff.

    Thanks!

I knew about the SS, but not the Silica.

This is my first RBA and I have the ceramic, and now that it's broke in it's awesome, but as I may have mentioned flavors are not as intense, as where Menthol or Mint will knock you over!

As Chevy Chase said in :Modern Times "Muhaaahaa:thumbs: I Like it"

If you're finding the flavor less intense on a Zen, I have heard people suggest to crimp the top of the SS wick to help it out. Ive only briefly played around with this little trick.. WAnd the juices Ive been running through the Altus lately are no shortage of flavor, so...

I put some Ceramic wick on order for my Altus because of this discussion, Im interested now :) Thanks

    ohio :-(
Is there a zen mod thread. I would really like to upgrade to all brass contacts for my SW, except in the top cap of course. The gold plated screws all through it suck, worst idea ever. Also brass parts for the inside like the spring and screw that goes up through the atty like on the ihybrids. Anybody make aftermarket parts like this?

hi weinner. sorry to hear you don't like them. the gold were just the trick for me, but if I remember correctly, I did add another washer ti make sure it had adequate contact. the brass stiff spring is hard to come by but you can get aftermarket parts. I don't like the brass in mine as it breaks down and requires more cleaning. I'd actually consider trading you the bottom brass screws I have left in one of my sws for your gold.

Question for ya'll.....preparing to order a Zen Cinis and need to know the size of the replacement tank I would like to order....is it the mini?? The Cinis specs say it comes with a 3.8ml tank....thanks for your help all.....:)

I'm not too up on all the new names, but the 18350 & 18500 ones take the mini tube size I believe & the 18650 one takes the regular size tube. :)

The Brevis, Medius and Cinis all take the "mini" tank if you're buying the tanks from ENS.

The Altus is the oddball out which tanks the large tank. They sell a seperate tank specifically for the Altus now too. I can confirm the regular large tank DOES fit the altus, but the top cap no longer fits as snugly.

Anyway, to answer, yes, it taskes the mini tank.

Hi guys, i need an advice, already own a zenesis mini and i love it!! so im ready to buy a new one but im unsure wich one to get cenis or altus i know the only difference is the tank, is there any advantage to have a 4.5ml tank instead of 3.8ml, is the 3.8ml tank harder to break than the 4.5 ml ?

    thanks for your advice
