Hello,

I'm thinking about trying e-cigarettes. I recently stopped smoking eclipse cigs after 8 years or more. I don't want any nicotine at all in my e-cig. Do the zero mg juices contain trace amounts of nicotine? I read on Altsmoke.com that their zero cartridges may contain traces of nic. I was thinking about getting the Johnson Creek zero nicotine or something like that. Just wanted to make sure that they really contain no nicotine.

Thanks

As e-juice, e-liquid or whatever you choose to call it is typically nicotine suspended in propylene glycol, I can't imagine why they'd add it to 0 nic just to take it back out again. PG itself doesn't have nicotine in it.

[edit] I'd stay away from any company claiming that their 0 nic could contain traces. It would seem to me that they may be purging and re-using carts.

i checked out vaporguys.com

Unfortunately when I looked at their Johnson Creek Smoke Juice Zero it said there was .00000001mg of nicotine.

Ok i know that's not very much. I just don't want there to be any chance that I'll stay addicted to nicotine. I'm guessing that such a small mg is because they use the same equipment as their other juices and they can't guarantee no nicotine. Any thoughts on this? Do you think I'm just being worried for no good reason.

After thinking about it, it may be possible that 0 nic Tobacco flavors may have traces because they use (obviously) tobacco in them and can't eliminate it completely.

There are many other 0 nic flavors to choose from, and non-tobacco choices shouldn't have those traces in them. There are many satisfying options out there.

[edit] You can also make your own 0 nic liquids with little effort. You can buy gallon bottles of PG for around $22. Glycerine is cheap and readily available. Flavors are abundant through Lorann's (as well as others). It's cheaper than buying 0 nic liquid, and it's actually fun! Visit the DIY Liquid part of the forum, and check out some recipes.

[2nd edit] After discussing this with Rob, I'll offer props to Altsmoke for pointing out the possibility of trace amounts. Many don't take this step.

Noob Question: so using the ecig with zero nicotine has no health hazards involved? I can't kick the habit of smoking, but didn't want to drag in nicotine into my lungs with e-cigarette either. Is the zero nicotine cartridge safe? Any health hazards/effects that I should be concerned with?

While PG and VG are considered safe, there hasn't been conclusive testing. Same with the various flavors do-it-yourselfers use. They are all safe for ingesting, but inhaling is new territory.
