So my local B&M has a zmax mini, long story short i've gotten to know the guys there pretty well, and the guy tells me if im interested in the zmax we can work out a decent price for it, because it been taking up shelf space for too long. That leads me to the question, is there a good reason its been there that long? and lastly doesnt anyone know if an aspire atlantis would work with it? Thanks in advance everyone!

Which brand Zmax mini is it - Smoktech or sigelei?

If it's the sigelei and you can get it for around $25-35 and it comes with the extended end cap, then maybe so.

If it's the Smoktech, I would skip it over.

You will not be able to use the Atlantis on this mod either way. The APV will only fire down to about 1.2ohms. The coil heads in the Atlantis are 0.5ohms.

I have a Zmax mini, it's a great little device, never had any issues with it and the machining and finish on it are very good. It is a little outdated now (by that I just mean there are devices for a similar price that offer a few more options - including 20 watt devices), but that is not to say that it's a bad device.

If you are looking for a VV/VW that can provide a great vaping experience below about 12 watts, then I would still recommend it.

It's a smoktech, and the price at my B&M it is significantly more than what the Sigelei goes for, I already have an Istick that does up to 11 watts and i never even go that high. Thanks for the help!

A lot of B&M's (and even online vendors) are asking silly money for these devices. I've seen them for $69 and even $99. Smok and Sigelei go for around the same price usually. I would just steer clear of the Smok version because when you check the APV forums here on ECF, you'll see a lot of people have had issues with them - button issues and some boards have stopped working and other problems.

Fewer issues have been reported with the Sigelei device that I have seen.

If you already have an iStick, unless you are getting a really good deal, I don't really see the point of getting the Zmax to be honest - although I enjoyed mine. Of course it's your choice.

The ZMAX Mini is a fine APV. It is just an older design from a few years ago; it works very well and can be an excellent value if the price is right. I'd take either the Smok or Sigelei versions if they offer you a fair deal. I'd suggest checking back with the store and let us know what they are asking for it. We can tell you then if it's a good deal or not. You might also consider the iStick or the iStick clone from Fasttech: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...t-20-2200mah-variable-voltage-wattage-battery There is also a 5% coupon code right now: XMAS14

This guy had them for less than $20 .... but they are sold out. He has an awesome price on the SID .... use the code and they are 50% off!

Mods - RTD vapor

RTD is a great store...very quick to ship at a reasonable $2.99. The SID is basically an updated Smoktech ZMAX full size with a better OLED screen. That price with the coupon is about the best you'll find for it.

I think I just saw the smok zmax mini on ecigsupply.com for about $15

I thought I saw that they were sold out earlier today. The $15 was a Black Friday price; the price went up to $19.99 for the past few days but they appear to be all gone sadly. On a side note, that Smok Turbo mechanical at ecigsupply is a really nice little unit...nice build and substantial weight for an inexpensive mech unit from a US shipper.

Well thanks for the heads up everyone! i just got back from the B&M (i love working directly across the plaza from them haha). Unfortunately the cheapest buddy could do was 85 after tax. Too steep for a mod that i would consider fairly average. Thanks again everyone

Definitely a pass! Now we know why it has been on the shelf so long. :) I am all for supporting local vape shops, but the fact is that you generally are going to get the best deals online. If you don't mind telling us, what is your budget for an APV? That may give people a target to suggest something for you.

Sigelei Zmax V3 is the same length (100mm) as the Sigelei Zmax Mini when both are fitted with a 18350 battery. Identical electronics in both. V3 has a telescopic tube and will also fit 18490, 18500, 18650 and 2x18350. Here is a V3 body only deal with a 90-day vendor warranty for $41.95. This week only. US vendor.

Varitube

edit: This deal may include only the taller of the two battery caps, so the length with 18350 would be 105mm. Length with all other sized batteries would be the same as with the short battery cap.

I'm mainly looking for an APV to run at atlantis, and my budget is in the $100 range. preferably not much more than that.

That B&M probably bought it in for way too much back when 15 watt devices were all you could get. I can get one in the UK for half that ( and everthing's more expensive here).
The only way he'll sell it for that price is to sucker a newbie.
For that money you could get a 100 watt box mod......
Thats what i was thinking, but instead i decided to get the B&M to order the the aspire CF tube Mod, it works out to be a little bit more than ive seen them go for online, but id rather support my local B&M and pay a couple bucks extra
