Charging through device nowadays?

I was watching some vape videos earlier,
And came across lost vape youtube channel one of the videos they showed they were charging the M200 centaurus through the device it self..
Also voopoo in the argus gt 2 manual they state to "please charge device with included cable"
So its OK to charge through devices now?
Because taking batteries in and out also wears out the socket maybe leaving them might be better?
Idk what you guys think and do?

HELLVAPE FUSION R POD KIT review by hittman

Hello again. I’m back with one more review for Hellvape today. I was sent the Hellvape Fusion R Pod Kit by Hellvape in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. The Fusion R is a very lightweight yet durable square shaped pod device. It has a built in 800mah battery and a 5V/1A charging rate that will completely charge the battery in about 45-50 minutes. The pod included has a mesh .8 ohm coil and a liquid capacity of 2ml which is pretty standard among pod devices. The Fusion R has a built in liquid viewing window that is pretty convenient and an adjustable airflow control which has become a must have for me in pod devices. Being a lightweight device, it does have a lanyard connection point and includes a lanyard if that is something that you like.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The Fusion R comes in a nice white box with the Hellvape and Fusion R names on the front along with a nice picture of the Fusion R and a checked pattern that simulates the design used on some of the color versions available. The back side of the box has the contents list, Hellvape company information, an authenticity code, and a bar code sticker stating the color version contained inside the box. I received two samples for this review. As you can see, I got the Blackish Green but also got the Legendary Black version. I simply love the appearance of the green version and it quickly became my favorite. I’m usually a black, silver, or blue mod or pod person but really love the color and design combination on it.

The sides of the box has a list of the main features on one side and the Fusion R name on the opposite side along with more of the check pattern.

1684677055758.png

Once the outer sleeve is removed, you can see the Fusion R device with the single .8 ohm Fusion Pod pre-installed. There is only the one pod included in the kit but there is a lanyard, charging cable, and user manual included. I personally would have rather seen a second pod included than the lanyard but I am not a lanyard user.

1684677105477.png

I received two samples for the review as well as a package each of the .8 and 1.2 ohm pods. The Fusion R only comes with the one .8 ohm mesh Fusion pod in the package but the 1.2 are available for purchase separately as well as replacement pods for the .8 ohm. The green version I received has a nice pattern on it along with the Fusion R name etched on it and is where you find the liquid viewing window. The liquid viewing window is a good idea but I wish it was open on both sides to allow light to come in from the back side for easier viewing. The opposite side has the Hellvape name on it. The black version doesn’t have the decorative pattern on it like the green one but has the same names etched on each side.

1684677163131.png

1684677190428.png

1684677222255.png

The Fusion R has the USB-C charging port on the bottom to charge the 800mah battery. The samples I received had a plastic strip covering the bottom when I received them. There are three battery vent holes located on the bottom as an added safety feature should the battery fail.

1684677280567.png

With a top view you can see that the pod opening on the Fusion has the standard plated spring loaded electrical contacts that meet with the pod to power the coil. The two magnets inside hold the Fusion Pod in very securely. On the top are three nice sized holes that direct the airflow in from the adjustable airflow control on the side up and into the pod. The auto draw sensor is located at the bottom of the opening. The Fusion R is auto draw only with no fire button. The black portion in the picture is where you would connect the lanyard through the two holes if that is something that you like to use.

In the second picture below you can see the airflow adjuster that slides. It is stiff enough that it doesn’t move when going in and out of a pocket. The Fusion R is so thin and lightweight that I have been able to carry it in a front pants pocket at work while barely noticing that I am carrying it. Below the airflow adjuster is a single LED indicator light that indicates battery levels as well as alerting the user to any safety issues.

1684677332253.png

1684677360727.png

Below the airflow adjuster is a single LED indicator light that indicates battery levels as well as alerting the user to any safety issues. Besides the three battery level indications that you can see in the picture below, the light also alerts the user to the following issues.

  • Low Battery Protection: The red light flashes 10X
  • Overtime Protection: The red light flashes 5X and shuts the output off after 8 seconds
  • Short Circuit Protection: The red light flashes 3X
  • Charging: The same indications as the picture below and the green light stays on when fully charged
ipDGfCV.jpg

The Fusion Pod that comes with the kit contains a .8 ohm mesh coil. The coils are not replaceable so the entire pod is switched out when needed. As I mentioned, I also received a package of the 1.2 ohm Fusion Pods for the review. I like how the rubber fill plug is gray on the 1.2 and black on the .8 so it’s easy to tell the difference. Besides that, the resistance is marked on the plugs. The mouthpiece is very comfortable to use and had no issues with it. Both pods are side fill and there is an arrow on the plug to point to which side to lift from. The .8 ohm pod is rated for 15 watts while the 1.2 ohm pod is rated for 10 watts. When you first receive the Fusion R kit there will be a sticker covering the bottom of the pod to prevent firing before filling. There are two magnets on the bottom of the pod to help secure the pod into the Fusion opening. There are of course the two contacts to power the coil that align with the spring loaded contacts in the battery portion. Also there is a fairly large airflow inlet on opposite diagonal corners of the bottom of the pod so it will be able to accept the airflow no matter which way you insert the pod.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have enjoyed testing the Hellvape Fusion R Pod Kit. This is the second pod system that I have tested by Hellvape and both have performed well. I very much liked the EIR that I reviewed a while back. The Fusion R is very lightweight at 38.5g and is also very thin which has made it a great pocket carry pod device for me. It is auto draw only so I don’t have to worry about accidentally hitting a button in my pocket and firing it.

There was only the one .8 ohm Fusion pod included with the kit which as you can understand, I think there should always be two pods in any kit for obvious reasons. Since that was what was included, I started out testing the Fusion R with this pod filled with a NET tobacco mix that I like. I felt that the flavor production was pretty good and could pick out the flavors I was looking for since this is a NET tobacco with cookie notes in it. Vapor production was respectable. I was able to get 3-4ml of liquid used before needing to recharge the Fusion R. The .8 ohm pod is rated for 15 watts and that seemed about right with the performance I was getting.

Hellvape was nice enough to send extra pods and one of the packages was filled with two of the optional 1.2 ohm pods rated at 10 watts. I did of course get longer battery life with this pod and the liquid in the first fill seemed to last forever with occasional use. Ten watts is quite a bit low for me and didn’t enjoy this one as much but that is just because of personal preference. I tried this one with a mango recipe and felt like the flavor was a little muted unless I chain vaped and got the coil hotter. Then the flavor was good. I feel like this one could have used another 2-3 watts. I believe I got about 4ml of liquid gone through before recharging on this one. It’s a little hard to judge because I never run pods completely dry.

If I was going to use the Fusion R consistently then for my preference I would stick with the .8 ohm Fusion pods. During my use over the last two weeks testing both pods there was only ever a tiny bit of condensation and no leaking at all.

I would like to thank Hellvape and Lisha for sending the Fusion R Pod Kit and the spare pods to test for my review. A big thank you to you the readers for sticking it out until the end again. Below is a link to the Hellvape website where you can see the Fusion and all of the different tanks and mods they have to offer.

Kumiho Model V pod kit - review by Javichu

Unboxing and first impressions:

So i gotta be honest here,i never heard of this Brand.
Name sounds cool thou and everyone deserves a fair chance so i shake my low expectations and go full in with an open mind not knowing what will happen.

The packaging is good, slide the outer sleeve out and then remove the top part of the box,on top you will find the instruction manual and the warranty card.
Once removed you will see the contents of the box all neatly tucked away, the pod device and the 2 cartridges and no USB Type-C charging cable.
In these days that will live in it really is not a big deal,we all got a drawer filled with Type-C charging cables so meh,no biggie.

Holding the pod it feels light,as it should since it only weighs 32 grams including the pod.
Even so it doesn't feel flimsy,it is made of Aluminum Alloy and PCTG and it has a really cool looking paint job,in my case i got the Gold Pink.
Not just the one color, from top to bottom it would get darker going full pink right at the bottom of the pod, looks pretty good.
On the side of the pod you have the airflow slider which will allow you to go from a full MTL to a loose MTL.

Pod cartridges look like your usual cartridges, the mouth piece is a bit different to other cartridges but it is comfortable to use and you have a line sketched on both sides with the word ''Min'' so you know that when the e-liquid is there or close to the line it is time to refill.

Vaping time:

Lately i don't tolerate Nic salts that well so i decided to use my regular Shiva aroma, proportion of 70VG/30PG and 6mg of nic.
This is my go to aroma on a daily basis and i always use the same one with all my reviews, helps out when its time to determine the flavor i am getting from the vaping apparatus i am reviewing.

Well the pod came almost fully charged, had it plugged for like 10 minutes until it was fully charged, charging time from zero to full will take about 50 minutes or so.
This pod has a 600mAh battery, for a device of this type its an ok size battery to have, won't last you the whole day if you a heavy user but since its type C the charging time is pretty low.
The pods have the usual rubber ''band'' on the side, just grab the side where the arrow is pointing to and lift so you can have access to the fill port.
As usual do not try and be a Hercules and jam the tip of your e-liquid bottle,do it slowly and without pressure, well anyway got both pods filled and its time to let them soak the sweet nectar of the gods.

When using drop in coils or cartridges like this it is always good to leave them at least 10 minutes, that way you can rest assured the coil has had time to really soak up that e-liiquid.
So while waiting for those coils to be ready i think i will give you a small guide on LED situation regarding this pod.
There is a small led in the front of the pod shaped like a fox, depending on its color and the times it flashes it can mean several things, let us go thru it together:

When charging the pod it will be in red if it was before 30% and then from 30% to full the fox ''eyes'' will flash but this time in white, once the device is fully charged the fox ''eyes'' will remain lit up,then its time to unplug it.

-When you insert the cartridge into the pod the LED flashes white only once and the body of the pod will vibrate
-When you remove the cartidge the LED will flash red only once
-Low battery? the LED with flash red 10 times
-In the case of a short circuit the LED will flash white 3 times
-Going over the 8 second puff duration (Overtime protection) the LED will flash white 7 times
-In case of overheating the LED will flash white 5 times

Ok so with that out of the way and having the coils properly soaked up it is time to get started.

The output wattage of this pod varies from 11 watts to 18 watts, the pod will automatically adjust the wattage depending on what coil you are using.

Thought i would start off with the 1.0 ohm coil (11W-13W).

Nice flavorful vape with decent cloud production, not as much hit as i am use to but then again this type of devices work better with nic salts.
Chain vape the heck out of this coil and it had no trouble keeping up,not going to say they are the best coils i tried but they are pretty good.

Used it all afternoon so i would get ''use'' to it so when i switched to the 0.6om (14W-18W) i could really tell the difference.
The 1.0ohm coils are also available pre-filled and come in a variety of flavors:

Ice Mango
Ice Watermelon
Mung Bean
Assam Milk Tea
Ice Blueberry Lemonade
Ice Banana Apple
Passion Fruit
Banana Ice Lolly
Ice Coke
Fanta

(Wish i could have tried the Fanta flavor,we drink a lot of Fanta in Spain so i was curious on how it would taste)

Time to give the 0.6ohm a try, judging by the higher power i got a feeling i would enjoy this one much more and oh boy was i right.
The 0.6ohm coil was much better, more bodied flavor, bit more heat and a tad more of cloud production, this coil is the one i used the most since its the one i really enjoyed.

When using this device i had no problems with the auto draw feature,100% of the times it worked like a charm, not one hitch.
I refilled the 1.0ohm cartridge 3 times or so and the 0.6ohm coil i refilled about 10 times and not once did i see any leaking at the bottom of the pod, leak free for the duration of the time i used this device.

All 2 cartridges i used with the airflow fully open, not an MTL user so this is the way i prefer to vape.
Did try it with the airflow fully close and yeah this truly delivers a nice MTL experience, would probably be even better if i used nic salts.

PROS:

-Good looking device
-Good paint job
-Seems solid and well designed
-Adjustable airflow
-Type C charging
-Vibration when the cartridge is properly inserted in the pod device

CONS:

-No USB Type C cable included in the box
Which in itself isn't really a big con,i mean in these days that we live in we always got spare cable lying around so meh.

Would i recommend this device:

If you're looking for a device of these characteristics then yeah i would highly recommend this device, price wise at the moment at HealthCabin is 12.99 US dollars.
For that price you are getting one solid pod device that has good performance and that will meet your vaping needs.
For someone that is looking into quitting smoking this would be a good choice since its easy to use.

Thanks to the folks at HealthCabin for sending me this product for review purposes.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read my review :)

Haven’t upgraded gear or followed vaping in 10 years. Want to change to DTL but I’m lost with all the new options! Please help!

Hello everyone! I started vaping when the first cig-a-likes came out. I followed the tech back then and eventually the aspire nautilus came out. It was generally considered one of the best at the time (10 years ago). I tried it, loved it, and have stuck with it ever since. I do occasionally smoke still, but mostly I vape.

I want to change to DTL (or possibly RTL). I’ve tried friends occasionally and loved that way of doing it. I have absolutely no idea what to get though, tech has moved on and I’m totally out of date and lost! Please help! The batteries really confuse me - there’s a box with batteries in that you have to take out to charge? The coils are now made of mesh? There are rebuildable tanks now? I need a handhold of every specific thing I need to buy for a complete new, decent DTL or possibly RTL (not sure which) set up.

My requirements - the first two are non-negotiable, the rest in rough order of priority:

It can’t leak - it lives in my handbag so is often on its side when not in use.

I am very clumsy and I drop it a lot. My nautilus has a tank with a sort of metal shield thing round it which has hugely reduced broken glass. I need something which has a similar metal/protective surround to the tank or it will get dropped and smash.

I need to be able to charge it overnight by plugging in to a usb cable, not by taking the batteries out (this could be standard anyway, I can’t work it out!).

I like a really airy, loose vape. I don’t like to have to draw hard on it at all. I like it cool and I’m not that interested in throat hit. I just like smooth flavour! I’m happy with either 0 or 3mg nicotine in MTL vaping depending on my mood.

I am not interested in clouds at all, just flavour. Less clouds/more subtle is better, but that’s not a deal breaker.

I’m a bit unsure about rebuilding, I don’t have vast amounts of either time or opportunities to learn as I have small kids that I’m with all day who I prefer not to see all the bits and bobs, and I’m also prone to smoke if my vape goes even slightly wrong which I want to avoid. I like things to be consistent, simple and to just work, so I don’t know if the learning curve is a sensible idea. I love the nautilus because it just works, it never leaks, nothing breaks - it’s so reliable, simple and consistent. I want a DTL/RTL version of that.

I’m in the UK so something readily available here.

I’d like to be able to change the mouthpiece but it’s not at all a priority, just a nice extra.

I don’t know if it matters in terms of kit but I’m really limited on flavours I use, as most make me feel sick when I vape them even if they smell amazing (gutted as I’d love to have all the dessert type ones!). I can use simple fruit and floral flavours, so only really vape clear juices.

Thank you so much for any help!

Need advice. How to remove uneven spots when dry burning coil

So I have a problem when I try to dry burn a new coil before using it gets really hot on one of the coil loops but the others don't. For example if my coil has 4 loops (don't know proper name) 1 or 2 get red very fast the others get hot but they don't turn red.

It's making me lose flavor and my coils burn out faster. What do I need to do to prevent this?

Also using wotofo 0.28 coils is it best to spread the coil loops and space them out or leave them touching together how they came out the box?

Thanks

The Steamcrave Meson RTA - Steamcrave head to the "Standard" tank system

The Meson RTA from SteamCrave is a single coil RTA with a much more closer design to the general RTA's we have seen on the market over the past couple of years, hence the "RDTA" missing from the name.

VooPoo Drag M100S Single 21700 Kit | Reviews by Z-Lee

VooPoo Drag M100S Single 21700 Kit | Reviews by Z-Lee

VooPoo Drag M100S Single 21700 Kit

1684443477644.png

Here we are again with another review folks! Today we'll be taking a deep dive into VooPoo's Drag M100S Single 21700 mod coupled with their latest tank, the Uforce-L. Much of the information about the Uforce-L will be pulled from my Drag 4 kit review simply because my opinion about it hasn't changed. It's their first top airflow tank and definitely my favorite tank they've released to date. The flavor output is fantastic and you simply cannot go wrong with a top airflow tank in terms of leak prevention/containment. I'll explain a little bit more about this further in the review for those that don't understand why.

Similar to how the single battery Drag X Plus and Drag X Plus Pro resembled the dual battery Drag 3 mod, the single battery Drag M100S very closely resembles the dual battery Drag 4 mod in terms of aesthetics. The main difference between the Drag M100S and the previous Drag X Plus and Plus Pro mods is that it blows both of the older mods out of the water in terms of build quality and performance. How you ask? You will see for yourself below.

I want to thank Freya & VooPoo for coordinating this device for review. I am not being financially compensated for this critique; it will be conducted in a fair and honest manner. As with all of my reviews, I am a reviewer, not a promoter.

The first portion of this review will touch base with what you'll find on VooPoo's site. If you want a better visual idea of the features and the look, I highly suggest visiting their page. The second portion of this review will be my personal experiences and thoughts on the device.

Alright, let's get into it!

Many devices that have been released recently have included a physical locking switch that in most cases turns the mod completely off and on w/out having to hit the fire a certain amount of times in quick succession. This has been one of my favorite features that's come out and it's been included on the M100S.

The Uforce-L tank is VooPoo's first top airflow tank and they hit out of the park. There's no sacrifice in flavor output which is the main concern with top airflow tanks being that there's quite a bit of distance for the air to travel before reaching your mouth. The main reason this is a huge step in the right direction is that it contains leaks which have become the bane of my existence when it comes to pods, and vaping in general. With bottom airflow slots, any juice that drains into the chimney from the coil drips to the bottom of the atomizer and then out the airflow slots. With top airflow slots, all you'll experience if the coil leaks into the chimney is a slight bit of gurgling. You can clear this by simply tipping the tank upside down over a sink, wiping the tank off when it finishes draining, and then continuing on your merry way.

There's been a lot of controversy over the dual mesh design you see above with regards to which company actually "invented" it. In some cases, such as with VooPoo's PnP coils, it improved their flavor output. In other cases, such as with Freemax's newer "D" coils, I feel like it dropped their flavor output. It's not always "better" per se, but in this case with the Uforce-L, it was a move in the right direction in terms of flavor. The result is a faster and more evenly heated coil for quicker vapor production. The potential downside is, I'm not quite sure how it affects coil life. When I first tested the Uforce-L tank with the Drag 4 kit, I was getting around 1000 puffs per coil which is pretty standard for today's coil heads. With the M100S, the 0.15 ohm coil has started to give slight burnt tastes at around 400 puffs and I've had to back the mod down from 55W to 50W, and now down to 45W at 500 puffs. There is the occasional dud coil, and that could also be the culprit here. I've not vaped enough of these coils to get a comprehensive understanding of what to expect from their new TW coils.

UI Colors:

The menus found in the UI are very simple to understand, especially if you are a power mode only vaper. The UI can be changed to 5 different colors. I'm not sure why they chose 5 different colors, and didn't just go with all of the primary, secondary, and potentially tertiary colors as options. Personally, my favorite color is blue, and I don't that being available here. It doesn't detract from my overall rating at all, but I just find it weird that there aren't more basic colors available, or at least colors that might go better with some of the exterior options such as the wood finish.

In any case, the colors available are:
→ Yellow
→ Orange
→ Pink
→ Purple
→ Green

PnP Coil Compatibility:

The entire PnP family is compatible with the M100S kit. The advertised voltage output for the mod is 8.5V and my tests concluded that it falls just short of the mark, but certainly qualifies for the use of the MTL PnP coils. In certain cases where MTL PnP coils (high resistance coils) are used in specific pods or tanks, the mods that accompany the use of those coils need voltage output, but that doesn't mean they have a high wattage output for amp hungry coils (lower resistance coils). That's why you'll often see an MTL kit with a mod that only goes up to 40 or 60W. Similarly, a mod that puts out high wattage doesn't necessarily mean it has a boosted chip to reach the voltage needed for MTL coils. You wouldn't want to use an MTL coil in a device w/out a boosted chip unless you don't mind changing the battery(ies) out frequently.

If what I wrote above is complete jibberish to you, all you need to know about the Drag M100S is that it has all fronts covered for the entire range of PnP coils. DL and MTL coils will be no problem for the M100S. The performance spreadsheet toward the end of this review will get a little nerdy and explain this a bit further.

Specs & Packaging:

Regarding the specs for this kit, there are a few things to note. The tank is pretty tall. In fact, it rivals quite a few of the bigger RDTAs I have in my arsenal when it comes to height. If overall size is of concern to you, you may want to look into this a bit further. The mod is made of Zinc-alloy which adds a bit of weight to the M100S, but also makes it more durable than a lot of the aluminum-alloys being used to make mods lighter. The voltage output advertises 8.5V which means the chip is boosted which I love to see. The charging speed states 2.5A and the mod is compatible with 18650, 20700, and 21700 batteries, which is pretty common for most 21700 compatible mods. I'll reveal how this mod compares to the advertised specs listed in the section below.

Regarding the differences in packaging, the Standard and US versions have the exact same contents in each box. The TPD version comes with a 2mL tank and a spare 2mL spare glass. Everything else remains the same.
