► Eleaf Iore Crayon Pod Kit; First Impressions:
Iore Crayon is the latest Pod device in Iore series, I recently reviewed Eleaf's Iore Lite 2 and got good impressions, here you can read my previous test: Iore Lite 2 review

Crayon is a device with an internal 1,000mAh battery and compared to previous versions it can be used both with automatic activation and by pressing the button. The 2ml refillable cartridge is disposable and contains a new integrated 0.8Ω Mesh coil. Crayon's new design is minimalistic in appearance but its pocket-sized format feels really ergonomic to hold, plus the soft rubberized body provides fantastic tactile feedback.



Iore Crayon is characterized by the presence of a hard plastic magnetic cover on the top of the device. The cover has two opposing windows to allow the user to view the internal e-liquid level. The magnet inside the central hole where the driptip passes allows the cover to be held firmly to the Mod. Furthermore, when you remove the cover you can easily replenish the e-liquid without removing the cartridge from the Mod.





On the front of the mod is a single Fire button almost flush with the body and through this button you can turn the mod on/off with 5 clicks. At the bottom there is a LED signaling the protections and the battery charge level. The aesthetic decorations are represented by the printed writings "ELEAF" on one side and "IORE CRAYON" on the other side.



The USB-C charging port is located on the bottom of the device, so you need to keep the device lying flat while charging. The Crayon's charging speed is 5V/1A and allows the internal 1,000mAh battery to fully charge in about an hour. The indicator light glows white whenever you take a shot, using the auto-draw feature or when you press the Fire button. While charging; the light is red until the battery is fully charged, the light turns off once charging is complete.

Furthermore, the LED of Crayon signals the intervention of the integrated safety protections as follows:
• Cut Off: After 10 seconds of uninterrupted extraction, the output stops and the light flashes 5 times.
• Cartridge Not Detected: Indicator light flashes slowly three times.
• Low battery protection: If the battery drops below 3.3V, the light will flash 10 times.
• Short circuit protection: If a short circuit is detected before vaping, the light will flash 5 times and there will be no output. If the short circuit is detected during vaping, the light will flash 3 times and there will be no output.



Inside the compartment/pod you can see the two spring loaded electrical contacts and the sensor for the automatic extraction. There are four magnets on the bottom to hold the pod securely in place, and there are two notches on the top edge that need to line up with the notches inside the magnetic cover. On the bottom of the compartment/pod and on the sides there are two ducts for the air flow that comes from above and which follows the walls of the cartridge.



The passage of the air descends through the side walls of the Mod and of the cartridge which have been worked, and as I have already written the flow crosses the channels present on the bottom of the compartment / pod to reach and feed the coil through two small holes of compatible dimensions with the MTL vape that are present on the bottom of the cartridge. The white colored driptip is integrated into the cartridge and is not replaceable, however it has an elongated shape that is comfortable for the lips and the small internal hole is 100% compatible with MTL vaping.



The square shape of the cartridge appears to be able to contain much more liquid than the actual capacity of 2ml. The filling is of the lateral type and takes place by lifting the classic black silicone tab, the 4mm diameter hole is large enough to comfortably accommodate the tips of most e-liquid bottles on the market. The internal liquid level is easily checkable through the windows on the magnetic cover, the PCTG cartridge is dark in color but is really very transparent. Furthermore, as I have already written, there is no need to extract the cartridge from the mod during the refueling operation and if you wish you can do without installing the magnetic cover for an instant display of the internal e-liquid level, and for a even faster filling .



In the package of Iore Crayon there is only one cartridge with an internal resistance of 0.8Ω, however Eleaf has been very thoughtful sending me two more cartridges. The replacement cartridges can be purchased two at a time, just like in the extra package that Eleaf sent me for free.





► Eleaf Iore Crayon Pod Kit; Vaping Test & Final Conclusions:
The liquid I chose for this test was the "God Posion" diluted 10% in a 50:50 VG/PG base with 3mg/ml of boost. The 0.8Ω Mesh internal resistance seems the ideal choice to obtain a warm and aggressive MTL vape in the throat hit, full of flavor, and rich in clouds. With creamy e-liquids this Mesh coil performs really well and the activation is immediate both with the automatic extraction function and with the pressure of the fire button. The air flow is not adjustable, but the puff really seems to me well calibrated and well related to the 15W of power that the device can deliver, furthermore the steam delivery is fluid and spit-free, there is no condensation and the compartment pod was always dry during my test. Iore Crayon Pod Kit manages the charge of the internal battery very well and if you are not a compulsive vaper the charge level could be enough for you all day. Eleaf has been producing several interesting pod kits lately, but above all this devices they work very well. Iore Crayon is really nice in its pastel colors, well finished and with pocket size. The selling price of Iore Crayon on the official website is around €15, I think it's a very popular price for a kit that offers everything you really need to successfully quit smoking.

Suggested steep time = 4 weeks. Creams and bakery dictate a longer steep. YMMV. Off the mix it is tasty but it's much better with a good steep.

For this recipe I wanted a subtle coffee note yet one that was easily identifiable, and experienced, in the mix. What to do? Simple. Make a latte with its luxurious creaminess. I also wanted a delectable cookie note with my latte.

Balancing the latte and cookie so both profiles were easily distinguishable took some time.

FA Cappuccino was the perfect choice for the coffee note in the latte. It's a mild coffee with some creaminess. Mixing with DIY coffee flavors can be a challenge. Using too much of any coffee flavor can (will) easily overpower other flavors in a mix. At 0.5% FA Cappuccino delivers a tamed coffee note yet one that is experienced in the mix.

Lattes are originally from Italy. A proper latte has a silky smooth creaminess (foam) that helps to tame an otherwise bitter espresso. FWIW, an experienced barista is able to craft a wide variety of tasty lattes.

For my latte I used CAP Vanilla Milk Froth, FA Milk and SSA Whipped Cream to create a velvety foam texture. They tone down FA Cappuccino's coffee note without drowning out its excellent coffee flavor. The vanilla milk froth, milk and whipped cream combination add a very nice mouthfeel.

FA Oatmeal Cookie, FA Vanilla Cookie and WF Crumble Topping make a fine tasting cookie base.

I made the latte and cookie recipes on their own. Tweaked each to my liking and then did a combined mix. Further tweaking was needed to balance the latte with the cookie.

When vaping this recipe the latte, and its velvety smooth creaminess, is experienced up front. That's followed by a rich tasting cookie on the backside.

I also mixed this recipe with 1.5% VTA Dark Chocolate. Adding a chocolate turns the recipe into a mocha. The addition of VTA DC created a very nice tasting mocha.

Once again, this is two different recipes (or bases). One could mix the latte and enjoy a good coffee vape. Or mix the cookie and have a rich tasting cookie vape. Each could be used as a blank canvas for adding other flavors. Easily.

I see these guys sell for about $10 each empty. Seems like a good deal, but do they last a long time with solid vape production?

I heard this morning that Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, many times stronger than morphine or her0ine, has been flooding into this country the last few years. I knew that, as most of us have heard about it. What I didn't know is that it's being used to lace street products of all kinds, some of which we can't mention in this forum, but today I learned it is used to lace vape products sold at street level, which means the guy selling things off the record in bars, nightclubs, at races, flea markets, public events and so forth.

Fentanyl is not only terribly addictive, but is deadly in small amounts, and what happens is that people who overdose and go to the emergency room risk being ventilated, which means being killed.

Many of us have to continuously address peoples concerns about our vapes, and we promote vaping to others who are trying to quit cigarettes. Now it is very important for us to tell people what should be obvious: don't buy vape gear, liquids, disposables, or anything vape related, anywhere but in real brick & mortar vape shops or from reputable online sellers.

Gawd, it's always something, to threaten our access to smoking cessation and harm reduction products. It will take one nanny on a soapbox to get our vapes taken away, even though I wouldn't doubt that tobacco "loosies" sold on the street are also laced with Fentanyl. It is just another weapon against us.

Hello ECF! I am not new to vaping (Been at it for almost 2 years now), still learning everyday. I'm currently running a Valryian 2, usually a single or triple mesh, on a LostVape Thelema quest.
