Design and functionality:

The VOOPOO VMATE E2 is a stylish, elegant and mature pod-system which is the new version to the VMATE E series. It was released in November, 2024.

I got the Jet Black luckily from their flash sale, as I was into the black and the brown colors, I was excited which one will arrive. After removing the device from the box, you can immediately feel that you hold an exclusive and elegant piece of artwork in your hand. The front and the back panels are fully covered with leather; at the front you find a discrete VOOPOO logo and at the back the VMATE E2 branding embossed into this elite leather coating. You also find the airflow slider at the back, which is firm and holds tight, made of aluminium. There is a discrete juice level window formed between the dust cap and the body of the device, which is visible from both sides. The dust cap is very functional as it keeps the pod clean from any environmental effects. This cap holds very firmly onto the device magnetically, so nicely that you barely notice the line separating the two parts. The only downside is that you can forget where you’ve left it behind before your vaping session or it can fall out of your hand, as you have to do something with the cap when removed. Luckily Voopoo thought on this and spare dust caps can be ordered separately, you can even mix & match your own design by combining different colors. The device is all rounded, the bottom as well unfortunately, so it cannot stand very stable.



Battery performance:

This tiny powerhouse is equipped with a stunning 1500 mAh built-in battery and supports 2A fast charging. The charging status is displayed on the screen and a modern green flowing LED indicates you the process. The battery gives me at least 2-3 days of vaping, in rotation with other devices. You cannot vape on it when connected but due to the fast charging it is up and running in 40 minutes. The USB-C slot is at the bottom of the device.



Size and weight:

95*33.5*19mm, 92 grams. Made of durable and anti-scratch zinc alloy and leather materials.

The device is tiny and feels and looks premium in your hand. Your fist completely covers it, so it is ideal for stealth vaping. It is a bit heavier than its partners, however this is added up due to the durable zinc alloy material, the double layer and the bigger battery, plus the additional dust cap with the magnets that other devices don’t have.



Pod (cartridge):

The kit comes with two new-generation ICOSM coded VMATE cartridges: a 0.7-ohm fitted and a spare 0.4-ohm. The device detects the resistance automatically and sets your wattage to the optimal level. The VMATE cartridges have a 3 ml capacity which is sufficient for me for at least two days of vaping. The 0.4-ohm cartridge consumes more e-liquid due to the 30 watts it operates on, but it also means much more clouds! I am using the device already a month, daily through the evenings and the taste as well as the vapor production are still great, no leaks whatsoever. The 0.7-ohm I have borrowed to my VMATE i2, that pod is brilliant for MTL and RDL vaping, more suitable with nic salts. The VMATE pods hold very tightly with two magnets and an additional click-system, I am loving them!

I started immediately with the new 0.4-ohm pod as I was looking forward testing it finally! This is the only pod-system I am using with traditional e-liquid; I have filled it with 6 mg Tobacco Mint and I love to puff on it for winding off after work.



Final verdict:

When you are looking for an easy to carry, elegant and unique vaping device that is durable, reliable and guarantees you hassle free 30 days pod usage - look no further, this device will keep you impressed and saves you on the long term on pods. Their cartridges are cross-compatible through the whole VMATE line and are sold in a box of 2 – sufficient for two months! I cannot think of any downsides, maybe just one tiny observation: when you hold the device in your left hand, the battery level indicator will read upside down..

I already mentioned in my previous review that I have not been using SMOK’s products since vaping became a mainstream back in 2010-2012. That time was SMOK the leading and most prestigious manufacturer (think on the beloved Alien, BEAST tanks, Priv and MAG mods). Fast forward to present, I am happy to see them mastering the pod-mod manufacturing now and they do impress us again with their unique and innovative products, basis their industry knowledge of nearly 20 years.

Today I can proudly present you the SMOK NOVO GT BOX which represents SMOK’s years long of experience - you can feel that you are holding something professional in your hand.



Design and functionality:

The SMOK NOVO GT BOX is the first pod-system that boosts a full body sized 2.01-inch color TFT screen!

The kit sells in 8 colors: Gun Metal, White and 7-Color, Black, Silver, Blue and 7-Color, Pink and 7-Color, Purple and 7-Color, Red.

I received the Purple and 7-Color for this review. I find it a unisex color since it is more of a clear, metallic and pearl infused varnish that just covers the black screen and the backside, which has a hologram-like panel with a minimalistic NOVO GT label at the bottom. This shiny and color changing back panel is something classy that reminds me of the old SMOK days as they’ve always been adding something unique and colorful to their design. It’s their signature.

The device boosts many options: at the front you have the huge, rounded 2.01-inch screen with a discrete silver SMOK logo at the top, the – and + buttons are located at the bottom in the screen. At the right side resides the function button and the USB-C charging slot. At the left side you find a firm airflow adjustment slider and at the top a metal lanyard holder and the pod housing. At the bottom there is a rubber insert that functions to hold the device better when standing upside. Due to its weight, it can flip aside easily though. The function button doesn’t work as a fire button unfortunately, so the device only has a responsive auto-draw. All buttons are metallic and firm, high in quality.

Pressing the function button 4-5 times turns on/off the device, pressing it 2-3 times locks/unlocks the power. When the device is locked you cannot vape on it though, so there is no real difference between locking it or turning it off as turning it off/on only takes a second.

The display shows you all essential vaping details you need: the battery level %, currently set wattage, your last puff duration, the resistance of the pod, current voltage and the puff counter. There are 3 different futuristic User Interfaces you can choose from: a robotic blue/light blue, an electric purple/turquois and a glowing amber/yellow theme. I found that the blue theme matched the device color and my taste best. The UI can be changed by pressing the function and the ‘+’ buttons together. By pressing the function and ‘-’ buttons together you can reset the puff counter.




Battery performance:

This small little powerhouse is equipped with a stunning 1700 mAh built-in battery, which gives me several days of vaping. I charged it maybe twice during the 3 weeks of testing; however, I need to mention that I am using 3-4 devices in daily rotation. It supports 1.2A fast charging and is fully charged within 70 minutes. The charging is animated and the status increases by 5% increments. And the plus: you can vape on it while charging!



Size and weight:

87.5*46*18.6mm (inclusive pod), 99.6 grams. Made of durable PCTG materials.

It is comfortably small to hold it in your palm, it feels and looks premium. It is on the heavier side with its 99.6 grams, but you are holding a beast with 1700 mAh of performance! With the handy lanyard attached to the firm metal holder you can carry the device as a trendy necklace and vape while on the go or during work, when allowed to do so.



Pod:

The kit comes with two meshed pods: a NOVO M 0.8-ohm fitted and a spare NOVO M 6.0-ohm, which have the traditional 2 ml TPD capacity and top cap filling. I paired it with a 20mg Peach-Mango Ice nic salt. Top filling allows you a clean and hassle free refilling after removing the firm cap. The 2ml suffices a day’s need just well and satisfies my cravings perfectly. I found it was easier on juice consumption than my other pod systems.
