Hey everyone, ive just joined obviously and new to vaping been about a month and a bit. Havent had a smoke since which im happy about. Ive jumped head first in the pool n brought a single voopoo m100s with a geekvape z nano 2 n then got a odin v2 and a kylin3 n started building and im lovin it got a whole bunch of stuff now also got a steamcrave meson rta on the way. Im just curious on what ppls thoughts are on a decent rta for a rdl about 30 to 50w single build and what are ppls coils of choice for that sort of vape i feel full dl isnt really needed for that wattage and single coils and dont really mtl even the z nano2 with a .6 in it isnt a mtl really. I currently have tri fused clapton 3id 3-26/36 which i added a wrap too for the kylin and it sits a .25 which i vape at about 40w with the air half opened on the kylin3. Is that too low a wattage to most ppl? I can go down to 30 35 and it still tastes just as good but i can go up to 55 the taste and vape feels sooo close it feels like its just the time of the draw n time to heat that changes lol. Any1 have any tips for me and does anyone have any suggestions on a nice tank or is the steamcrave meson gonna be a good choice for my needs??? I live in Australia btw if anyone has anything they can suggest or sellers ect. Also getting rid of the VOOPOO M100S for anyone that wants 1 as i got the odin and a thelema solo now. Its a month old as of this moment n has a recipt and warrenty still perfect.

► Aspire Proteus Neo; First Impressions:
The idea of combining a vaporizer with a hookah container is not new as many reviewers say, in reality the project for such a combination dates back to 2015 again by Aspire which has always proved to be an innovator in the world of Vape. After almost 9 years, the "Proteus" project appears to have improved in several aspects, both technical and stylistic. In the image below you can easily understand the gigantic dimensions of this new device which is compared to a common dual battery kit.



The device that was sent to me for testing is green in colour; green as my hope everything is working fine. The large cylindrical body of Proteus Neo is covered with a rubbery layer with texture of vertical lines, the rubbery surface offers a pleasant tactile feedback, however the device will not have to be handled for a long time to be used, it will simply have to be positioned at the top than a common Hookah.



Aspire Proteus Neo E-Hookah is powered by a huge built-in 5700mAh battery that is rechargeable through a USB Type-C 2A port. There are no activation buttons on the Proteus Neo body because its operation is 100% automatic. Above the charging port is the Aspire logo. The word Aspire together with its perimeter lights up during use, in fact this is a signaling LED in all respects and works as follows:
• When inserting or removing the Tank, the LED light flashes white
• Red light; Charge between 0-30%. The battery level is shown during activation and during charging.
• Blue light; Charge between 30-60%. The battery level is shown during activation and during charging.
• Green light; Charge between 60-100%. The battery level is shown during activation and during charging.
• When the device has reached 100% charge you can unplug the power cord and the LED light will flash green 3 times



The ASP chipset offers all the necessary measures for a safe vape:
• Over-time protection (8s): The LED light flashes red and blue 10 times and the device turns off
• Short circuit protection: The LED light flashes red and blue 3 times and the device stops dispensing
• Low voltage protection: The LED light flashes red 15 times
• Overcharge protection: When the device reaches 100% charge the light flashes green 20 times
• Overheat protection: The LED light stays yellow for 3 seconds and the device turns off
• Over voltage protection: When the charge is abnormal, the device stops delivering



Examining the upper part of Proteus Neo I expected to find a common Drip Tip in the center of the tank, in reality I found myself in front of an adjustable and raised airflow control system. Then you can adjust the two slots by turning the wheel either to the right or to the left. I could also use the device as if it were a mug of beer... However this is not the best way to use the Proteus Neo.



The tank offers an impressive 25ml capacity with a convenient top fill system. The filling hole is protected by a silicone grommet. Aspire recommends carrying out the filling operations by detaching the Tank from the Mod, however I must admit that most of the time I fill the tank leaving it positioned on the mod, I see no contraindications in doing this. You don't have to fill the tank completely, you can add even just a few ml of liquid to the tank and you won't run the risk of dry shots. When you change fluid you can wash the tank by removing the coil.



The pod compartment has inside a metal ring held in place by 4 screws, the metal ring offers the necessary magnetism to firmly hold the tank in the correct position. In the center there are the two contact pins, while the sensor for the automatic puff is well hidden, protected from condensation. The huge 25ml tank features 4 strong magnets, and comes with a sticker placed on the coil to prevent accidental activation during storage before purchase. Of course the adhesive must be removed before using the Proteus Neo for the first time.



The Proteus Neo Meshed Coil 0.17Ω (Pre-installed) fits into the Tank with a simple pressure, the maximum power that Proteus Neo can reach with this coil is approximately 80W. Currently this is the only coil available for Proteus Neo. Aspire recommends the use of VG-PG 70/30 E-liquid for this Coil.



A necessary expedient is to occasionally clean the compartment/tank from possible condensate residues, the operation is easy and quick considering the enormous space available for effectively rubbing the absorbent cloth.



In the Proteus Neo package there are two rubber fittings having different sizes to adapt perfectly to most of the Hookah Kits available on the market. In the lower part of Proteus Neo you can insert one of these adapters depending on the type of Hookah you will use.



In order to carry out this test, I bought a Hookah Kit. If you don't have a Hookah available, you can contact me and I'll tell you exactly which Hookah I bought.



► Aspire Proteus Neo; Vaping Test & Final Conclusions:
For this Test I used one of my favorite E-liquids; TOB Tropical VG-PG 70-30 with 3mg/ml of Nic. The first question that naturally arose to ask myself was this; but how will the steam come out of the almost 180 cm pipe of my hookah? The second question was; but will the taste be good? I can say that the result was far above my highest expectations ... Incredibly, the amount of vapor that comes out of this long tube is more than abundant and the flavor is absolutely in line with the average of pre-made head vaporizers that I usually use DL/RDL for vaping. Aspire Proteus Neo offers the right balance between flavor and vapor production. Certainly the steam after such a long journey does not arrive hot in the mouth, it arrives rather cold, however for some this could even be another point in favor of Proteus Neo. The air regulation system is usable without interrupting the vape and can be adjusted wide for DL, but also narrow enough to achieve a contrasted RDL hit. The huge 5,700Mah battery manages the 80W of power for a long time, allowing you to spend pleasant evenings in the company of friends or with your family. With this new device you will be able to immerse yourself in its immense clouds of vapor and you will be able to enjoy an experience very similar to that of traditional hookahs. How I fixed the only flaw with my (kicked) 69 clone. (After a decade ). The 69 lacks a battery spring and had spotty connection due to its telescopic threads. This simple magnet holds the spring on the battery itself and solves that. As it is SS, couldn't secure the spring any other simple way. And no, I don't have better uses for my time (retired).

Hi y'all!

So I'm one of those few smokers who are cursed with a high tolerance for smoke/naturally occurring nicotine in smoke but zero tolerance for even the smallest amount of "manufactured nicotine". I've tried all kinds of set ups but it's always come down to the nicotine itself, that peppery note that feels like it's clogging my arteries or something. At first I thought it was the PG but when I tried vaping pure VG with high nic levels the same symptoms ensued (it's just that PG is better at carrying both nicotine and flavor than VG, thereby exacerbating the symptoms). I even tried vaporizing tobacco shags in a DynaVap but I get the same kind of peppery note (even though there are barely any clouds to carry it). I'm assuming this is because dry herb vaping doesn't release the full spectrum of tobacco alkaloids in the plant.

Mind you this is coming from someone who smokes Dokha on a regular basis, the nicotine of which can floor you in as few as two puffs. It is then not just about high nicotine concentrations in vape that is bothering me, since the concentrations ought to be much higher in Dokha tobacco for sure.

That's when, out of frustration, I searched the internet for something that might work for me and came across this wholenic or WTA on the internet and learned that it carries not just nicotine (which is a stimulant) but the other alkaloids in tobacco that interact with nicotine and turn it into a relaxing agent (like in tobacco smoke). I've seen reviews where people swear by it and say it feels exactly like smoke.

What makes me curious though is that it comes in freebase and salt nic which probably means the wholenic alkaloids are there as a proportion that interact when the juice is vaped, right?

If anyone here has tried it, by all means please share your thoughts! Does it have that peppery note that a lot of people hate? Does the nicotine make you nerviouse like it does in regular vape juice?

So i used to use Transistors Foster liquid but i sadly ran out. Im trying to find an alternative since they dont make it anymore as far as i can tell. I was hoping to get some of your recommendations on tanks. Ive almost exclusively been using the smok TFV16 (TFV12 before that) tank for last couple of years with the triple mesh coils (Current mod is a gaur-21 with dual 21700 batteries) I make my own juice & haven't had a need to change this setup as it just hits really well & vape constantly at 95 watts.

However, the proprietary nature of their drip tips with options being so limited, has finally driven me to go a lil nuts, lol. I want to be able to just use common 510 or 810 drip tips which I know work on almost every other tank. Anyone whose used this tank, knows the headache of their exclusive drip tip issue.

I tried a couple other tanks from "top 10 lists" a while back but they were a complete waste of money as none hit half as good as the tfv16 with a triple mesh coil on it.

I would really appreciate anyone recommending a tank they use or have used previously, that hits as good or close to the tfv16, I mean that nice thick heavy sub ohm satisfying hit... I figured to buy a few of the ones ppl recommend here & finally free myself from smoks drip tip hell.
