Pop corn lungs or BPCO?

Hello everyone,

I’m new on this forum:)

I’ve had trouble breathing and pain in the chest for over a year now. Did a couple of exams that always went perfectly. Recently I did a breathing test and it seems that I have small inflammations in the lungs. I still need to talk to the pneumologist next week to know exactly what’s happening.

I have been vaping quite heavily on and off for the past 2 years. Before that, I smoked 2 years normal cigarette.

We can read a lot of things on the internet about pop corn lungs, COPD etc… My question is simple:

Innokin CoolFire Z60 Kit with New Zlide Top Tank & DuoPrime Z-Coils | Reviews by Z-Lee

Innokin CoolFire Z60 Kit w/ New Zlide Top Tank & DuoPrime Z-coils

1670143111504.png

Hello! Today we'll be taking a close look at Innokin's latest kit release, the CoolFire Z60 with their brand new Zlide Top tank and DuoPrime Z-coils. The best way I can describe this kit is if you could imagine the older CoolFire Z50 kit and the newer Kroma 217 Z-Force kit having a baby. There's a lot to cover here so I'm not going to take up too much time trying to describe what it is, I'll just show you.

First, I want to thank Nicole over at Innokin for coordinating the shipment of this product, and @Innokin_timmy for being the happy face we love to see here on ECF. This review will be conducted in a fair and honest manner, per usual.

DuoPrime technology now comes to the Z-coil family. As of now, there's only a 0.6 ohm coil available, but it still falls under MTL due to the airflow restriction that the new Zlide Top tank can provide. The new DuoPrime Z-coils are compatible with all other Z-coil tanks.

Innokin's Coil+ and Refresh Modes are nothing new, but they're a highly welcomed feature. I believe these modes started with the release of the Kroma 217 mod and have been carried over due to their successful performance and uniqueness. I still wish Innokin would bring back the f(∅) tech they had in the CoolFire Z80 mod, but I don't think it was as well received as the Coil+ and Refresh Modes. Hopefully they keep that on the back burner for something coming up.

Also new to Innokin mods is the Battery Master Switch located on the bottom of the mod. This allows you to quickly turn off the device when storing it, instead of the normal 3x clicks of the fire button which will also turn off the mod. The difference is, no matter how many times you click the fire button, if the Battery Master Switch is turned off, the mod will not turn on. The switch must be turned back on before you can unlock the device for vaping.

The Spec list is a bit off, which I'm sure was put together before Innokin made the final touches. I watched a sneak peek review from Phil Busardo (one of the designers of Innokin tanks along with Dimitri TheVapingGreek) here where he mentioned they made some last minute changes before the final release. Tank capacities are 4.5 mL, 3 mL, and 2 mL (for TPD regulations). The internal battery also has 2500 mAh capacity, not the stated 2100 mAh listed above putting the battery at 9.25 Watthours instead of 7.77 Watthours.

Testing & Observations:

What Comes in the Package:
◾ Innokin CoolFire Z60 Mod
◾ Innokin Zlide Top Tank w/ MTL Drip Tip (Straight Glass - 2 mL)
◾ DuoPrime 0.6 ohm Z-coil (pre-installed)
◾ Spare Bubble Glass (3 mL)
◾ Spare 0.3 ohm Kanthal Z-coil (non-DuoPrime)
◾ Baggy of Spare O-Rings & RDL Drip Tip
◾ USB Type-C Charging Cable (1 foot)
◾ User Manual
◾ Warning & Safety Manual
◾ DuoPrime Z-coil Info Sheet

Innokin sports environmentally friendly recycled packaging for their gear which I always love to see. Does the packaging really matter all that much? To me, not at all - it's what is inside.

When opening the package, most of the smaller items can be found tucked all nice and neatly under the cardboard cutout that holds the mod, tank, and bubble glass. Don't forget about the RDL drip tip found in the baggy of O-rings - I almost missed this.

I installed the bubble glass and straight glass, one on each mod so that you can see what they look like. The straight glass comes pre-installed and holds 3 mL's of ejuice, the bubble glass increases that amount to 4.5 mL. For those that fall under TPD regulations, there's a tank that holds 2 mL (I have not seen this tank, so cannot confirm). I'm not entirely sure if the reduced volume is built into the tank in a preformed plastic PCTG or if there's a spacer that's placed inside the tank.

The USB Type-C cable is about a foot long which seems to be the industry standard for recharging cables inside starter kits. One wonderful thing about the Z60 mod is that it will pick up a QC 3.0 quick charging cable, so those with a more recent android will be able to use their phone chargers. Not all mods are capable of this, so this is definitely a plus. The mod also allows pass-through vaping, so you will be able to vape while it's plugged in and recharging.

The Zlide Top Tank:

The new Zlide Top tank is quite an improvement over the original Zlide tank, both designed and implemented by Phil Busardo and Demitri the VapingGreek with Innokin. I was not a fan of the OG Zlide tank. In fact, I sidelined it and it became my 1.6 ohm mod testing tank after trying it for a while. I just couldn't get the Z-coils to produce nearly the same flavor as the newer Zenith II tank that came in the CoolFire Z80 kit, and didn't provide nearly the airflow range, either. If you enoyed the original Zlide tank, then I think you can still expect a few improvements other than just the flavor.

If you're new or newer to coil head tanks ("sub ohm"), there are a few things you'll want to note about this atomizer when installing new coils, like orienting the coil correctly so that it seats flush with the base of the coil housing. If you do not seat the coil correctly, you will know this when trying to screw in the base/bottom cap - it will not screw in all the way.

The first feature I want to make note of if you haven't already noticed it, is the top airflow this atomizer has adopted. As far as I know, this is the first Innokin tank to go this route instead of the traditional bottom airflow that most atomizers in the industry, both coil head and rebuildables, tend to go with. Without going too far in-depth with how top airflow differs from bottom, the biggest benefit across the board is leakage reduction. An atomizer can experience leakage for many reasons including but not limited to when a coil gets old, the tank gets refilled with too much juice, the tank gets left sitting on its side with low amounts of juice, or maybe the viscosity is too thin for the coil. This leakage results in juice free-flowing through the coil and wick, into the chimney, and creeping down into the area at the base of the atomizer. If the airflow control ring sits at the base of the tank, then this is where the leakage will exit the atomizer - through the airflow. However, in a top airflow system, the juice can still leak through the wick and coil, but will instead pool at the bottom of the atomizer and will have no way to exit the atomizer until it is tipped upside down. This is great because the leak is contained inside the atomizer instead of ending up on your pants, shirt pocket, or purse.

Many claim that flavor is reduced because of the travel distance of the air in top airflow tanks, but that travel distance mostly affects the flavor when the distance from the coil to the end drip tip is increased. I'm certainly not experiencing any reduction in flavor from the Zlide Top tank, but this could also largely be contributed to the new DuoPrime Z-coils which I'll get more into further below.

As with the original Zlide tank, the top cap slides back to reveal the refill port - just look for the small arrow positioned directly in the center of the side where both of the silver star bit screws sit closest to one another on the top cap. The port itself is sealed with a thin slit membrane that is easily penetrated with a bottle nozzle. I did find that I sort of had to press the nozzle into the membrane with a bit of force to make sure the tip was propping open both sides of the membrane when refilling, but you can always remove the drip tip if you find yourself having any difficulties gaining access to the refill port. The top cap itself slides back and forth about as smooth as I've ever experienced with a slide top. The machining is done very well.

The DuoPrime Coil:

Quite possibly the biggest improvement contributing to the likeability of the CoolFire Z60 kit is their new addition to the Z-coil family. Like the coils used in the Kroma 217 Z-Force kit, the same DuoPrime technology has been compacted down in size and form to be compatible with the rest of the Z-coils. What does this mean exactly?

I'm putting on the nerd glasses to give you the most easily understood explanation that I'm capable of in how the DuoPrime coils work - for visual reference, scroll up to the illustration above I've linked from Innokin's site.

The DuoPrime technology implemented into the Z-coil has the standard coil that lines the inner circumference of the cotton wick. If you look down into the Z-coil before you install it, you can see the wire mesh coil. Like almost any coil, this coil's particular job does all of the vaporizing you would expect from a normal coil head. However, there's a second mesh coil with a higher resistance that lines the outer circumference of the cotton wick. If you look through the small circular juice ports of each DuoPrime coil (much more easily seen in the ZF-coils used in the Z-Force tank from the review I did here), you'll notice a thin lining of cotton that encloses this second coil. Since this coil is of a higher resistance, it requires a higher voltage to get to vaporizing temperature and instead, heats slower and to a much lower temperature than the inner coil which results in drawing in ejuice from the tank.

If you don't believe this actually works, set a normal coil head to around half of what you would normally vape it at, and take a few regular sized puffs. That slurpiness you're experiencing is juice being drawn into the wick, but not being heated enough to vaporize properly. That's the magic behind the DuoPrime coil. Similarly, this is also the technology that Innokin's Coil+ firing mode uses, which results in the mod firing for about a half second after you release the fire button at around half the set wattage. This allows coils that do not have a second DuoPrime coil to benefit from the same technology.

Normally, I'd probably vape a non-DuoPrime coil of this resistance at around 30-35W. However, with a second coil of higher resistance, it allows this coil head to be vaped between 9 and 13W. So, not only does this coil help in keeping your vapes nice and juicy, it also allows you to enjoy a great vape at a lower wattage which in the end means, tons of additional battery life. And by tons, I mean upwards of 3 times the battery life - that's nothing to scoff at for a 2500 mAh internal battery. That's essentially having 7000 mAh worth of vape time in a tiny sized mod.

In the pictures above, I've denoted with an arrow, how to determine if you're holding a DuoPrime Z-coil or not - look for the unique upside down U symbol. The coil material (KAL - Kanthal), resistance, coil series, and recommended wattage are stated on everyone of their coils which I believe all brands should be doing for clarity. Well done Innokin.

As I've stated before in plenty of my other Innokin reviews, if you're looking for vape innovation, Innokin is the company to be keeping your eye on.

The CoolFire Z60 Mod:

If I had to sum the Z60 mod up in two words, I'd say petite and classy would describe it best. While I do admit that I like some of the more flashy mods on the market, there's certainly a special place for a nice classy looking mod, and I'm sure some of you can agree on that. The body of the CoolFire Z60 is made of zinc-alloy which you can certainly rely on for durability. A lot of the market has moved on to the use of aluminum-alloys because they're lighter, and I'll continue to reiterate that lighter is not always better - and certainly not when you're talking about ounces in difference.

The front-facing plate is where you'll find the fire button, the UI, the two directional buttons, and the USB Type-C charging port. The external aesthetic of the mod body is split into two sections, the bottom having a matte look, and the top portion having more of a polished finish. To the left of the front side, you'll find in small writing, COOLFIRE Z60. I'm glad they didn't go crazy with logos, as that would have definitely detracted from the overall aesthetic.

On the top of the mod, you'll find a solid 510 plate that securely fastened to the metal frame with two Torx screws and some grooves in it to increase the surface area. The 510 pin is brass-plated and spring-loaded with just enough spring resistance to keep good contact with the pin on the atomizer, while not making it difficult or grindy to screw it in.

On the bottom of the mod is where you can find the newly added Battery Master Switch that we've seen being implemented in quite a few mods now with various different names. I believe this is the first mod that Innokin has added this feature to, and it's a great addition - hopefully they'll be adding this feature with future releases. While it's easy to turn the mod off and on with Innokin's traditional 3x clicks of the fire button, by clicking the button while it's off, the screen will light up. I wouldn't go as far as to say that this would kill your battery outright, but it's certainly not helping any. The Battery Master Switch completely disconnects your battery from the circuit making it not respond to any clicks at all. Definitely the safest way to go when put in your pocket or a purse/bag.

The USB Type-C charging port charges at 1.5A.

Lastly, I'll list out the basic functions of the mod.

◾ To turn the mod off/on: 3x clicks of the fire button or Battery Mastery Switch off/on
◾To change the wattage: Hold up or down directional button for 2 seconds; wattage changes in 0.5 watt increments and does round-robin
◾ To access the main menu: Hold both up and down directional buttons for 2 seconds
◾ To lock/unlock the directional buttons (mod still fires): Hold down directional button and fire button for 2 seconds in Coil+ or Wattage Mode
◾ To access the misc. menu: Hold up directional button and fire button for 2 seconds (shows battery voltage level, coil resistance to the thousandth, and puff counter w/ option to reset)

Above I made a visual map of the main menu (and misc. menu) and what you can expect to see when you enter any of the sub menus. The following is a list of what each sub menu does:

◾ Coil+: Can choose to run this mode in Voltage Mode or Wattage Mode, and fires the mod at roughly half the set value for a 1/2 second after you release the fire button; when in Voltage Mode, the wattage output is activated when fired in the lower right corner
◾ Wattage: Fires just like any other mod in Wattage or Power Mode
◾Refresh: Allows you to auto-activate refresh for about 3 seconds and draws juice into the coil/wick; Extended allows you to activate refresh by holding the fire button down manually for up to 8 or so seconds
◾ Cutoff: The length of time the fire button can be continually pressed before deactivating; ranges from 3 to 18 seconds
◾ Timeout: Determines the length of time the screen stays active after you've fired the mod; ranges from 5 to 180 seconds

1670152970012.png

Final Thoughts:

One gripe I have after surpassing 999 puffs was that the mod fully resets to 000. While I'm not huge into Puff Counters (I'd never factor this into my overall evaluation of a mod), I waited to complete this review until I surpassed 999 puffs for a specific reason. I'm not sure if a lot of people noticed this, but the Innokin Kroma 217 mod had a very similar UI layout and to my surprise when I passed 999 puffs, it shifted the counter to the right one. So at 1000 puffs, the counter read 100. After 10 more puffs at 1010, it would read 101. After 1100 puffs, it would read 110. So, theoretically, this counter could continue to keep track of puffs indefinitely which is the highest puff counter I've ever seen. I thought this was genius and was hoping to see that here in the CoolFire Z60, but alas it did not work out that way. It would have even been nice to include an extended puff counter in the sub menu where you can clear the puff counter since there's a whole lot more real estate to fit a large counter like that. Hopefully they add something like that in the future for the puff counter freaks. Other than the innovation, I on the other hand do not mind all that much.

You can see in the picture above just how compact this device really is. I thought the CoolFire Z80 mod sitting to the right of the Z60 mod was small. This has been a great device to bring with me on my long trips to work, and dependable enough to stow away in my lunch box without it leaking everywhere.

For the first full battery discharge, I reached around 420 puffs. This had a mixture of MTL and RDL puffs which is likely why I got more puffs than the second full discharge which ended after 377 puffs. I've also never seen a mod run on a red battery indicator for so long - the 2500 mAh internal battery they're using in the Z60 is truly impressive.

I'm currently sitting at 1470 puffs on the original DuoPrime Z-coil that came pre-installed in the kit and it's still going strong. The original Z-coils also have a long track record of good coil longevity, so I'm glad to see that the DuoPrime Z-coils are keeping up with them. I've notice hardly any decline in flavor, and no slurpiness or leakage from the DuoPrime Z-coil as of yet. I'm extremely impressed with these coils.

If you're looking for a great tight MTL to tight RDL vape kit, I think the CoolFire Z60 kit would be a perfect place to start.

Overall Rating:

An easy 9.5-10

That's all I got for ya. I hope I covered everything - feel free to ask questions or PM me if you're interested in anything I haven't covered. All I'm going to say is, keep an eye on Innokin because they're always coming up with innovations that I'm not seeing with the rest of the market. This is a killer kit, for sure.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Vape!

I only began to start here.

I been vaping since April 2022. Learnt a lot through internet but need info on whether if innokin 1.5 z coil can be use on temperature control suite and what the tcr is and if a prism t22 coil can be used on temperature control suit and the tcr.
I am not that complexed I only need a unique name for this forum that was not negative.
Someone please help me!!!
Boy that sounds desperate. Sorry!
A better question is can or cannot Kanthal Coils be vaped that are pre-made. I read you can vape Kanthal and I read disclaimer saying I should vape these Kanthal coils. Is there a scientist in the house with gadgets to get readings?
Natural I want to do a mouth to lung vape without over heating the coil then less metals and dry hits that burn the cotton.
Dr. Vapemen take me away and inform me!!
There is Modes like the Geekvape Aegis Max 100 which I believe the one I have had a mode where I can put in Kanthal and use that. I asked for information from Innokin on specs of the coil but I doubt I get a reply but it was worth a try. Does anyone know by any chance what to TCR of an Innokin Z Coil 1.6 Ohm is? Or even a Prism T22 1.5 ohm coils TCR? As far as I know the Aegis Max100 supports the coils. I like to know the TCR of these coils.

Aspire GoTek X Kit - 650mAh Pod Vape kit review

This preview is for two similar devices - Aspire GoTek X and GoTek S. I'm bundling them together because many specs and pods are the same.
aspire-gotek-x-kit_(6).jpg

Parameters
Brand: Aspire
Unit: 1 Set
Pod Type: Refillable / Refilled
Pod Capacity: 4.5ml ( Refillable Pod)
Airflow: Adjustable bottom airflow
Fill: Easy side fill (Refillable Pod)
Coil: Non-replaceable 0.8ohm Mesh coil

Aspire is a well-known name in the vaping space and has been producing quality kits for yonks, including kits like the Aspire RiilX and Zelos X.

I find it odd that none of the exploded diagrams above show any sort of LED indicator - I wish there was one! These kits are designed to please fans of one-offs and pod kits.
aspire-gotek-x-kit_(4).jpg

You can buy pre-filled pods individually and throw them away when you're done—greener and more eco-friendly than disposables. Its low power output range of 10-13W will support MTL (mouth-to-lung) vaping, however, the airflow control slider also allows limiting direct lung (RDTL) style inhalation.

The Aspire Gotek X pod vape kit is a matchbox-style pod that's a great option for those looking for a compact vape on the go. Thanks to its built-in 650mAh battery, you can enjoy a long vaping experience between charges.

Geek Vape Boost Pro Question I'm new at vaping

Hey everyone! I'm new to vaping, I'm trying as an alternative to smoking and so far so good! Certainly tastes better.
The question I have is this: The Geek Vape Boost Pro came with 0.2 ohms installed which says 50-60 watts on it. If you vape under that would it damage the coil or something? Or is it best to vape within those parameters? It also came with a 0.4 ohms with different parameters.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

LOST VAPE/ORION BAR OB75 Disposable and Rechargeable review by hittman

Hello and welcome back to another review. This one is a little out of character for me but I’m going to do my best to provide you a fair and honest review on the Lost Vape Orion Bar 75 that was sent to me by Lost Vape/ Orion Bar. The OB75 is about the same size as some pod devices that I’ve used before. It’s not small but not large. It does come pre-filled with 18ml of liquid and has a 650mah internal battery. I actually received nine of these for the review which was very generous of them to send. All of them have 5% or 50mg nicotine salts inside. According to the specifications, there are 0 and 2% versions available. Each unit has a little different artwork on the sides which makes them fun to look at. The reason it is called the Orion Bar 75 is that each one is rated for 7500 puffs. Did I try counting them? No, not going to happen. I’ll take them at their word on this.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

Honestly my first thought was I couldn’t believe that they sent nine of these for the review. Very generous indeed. I see there are ten flavors available and I received nine of them. The only one I didn’t get was Mango Ice. The OB75 comes in a colorful box in different colors depending on the flavor you choose. Both the front and back have large warnings that I’ve seen on other devices targeted for the U.S. market. The front has a picture of the actual device inside the box and the name as well as the Orion Bar name and number of puffs near the top. The back side of the box has an ingredient list and a series of warnings. There is an authenticity code also on the back.

The sides of the box have the specifications listed on one side and some social media information on the opposite side. With the specifications in large letters there is no guessing as to what you are getting in each box. I will mention that none of the samples I received had an owner’s manual. I know that most disposables don’t need one but this one has some extra features that could have been explained in a manual.

1670029399504.png

When you open the box from one end then inside you find the Orion Bar of your choice sealed in a plastic and foil bag.

Once you open the bag, you need to remove the rubber plug from the mouthpiece and there is a safety seal on the bottom of the device that must also be removed. I believe this bottom seal is so no airflow can pass through to activate the device until it is removed. The Orion Bar 75 is an auto draw only device.

1670029519995.png

Once that bottom seal was removed, it reveals the other features of this device. First off, I was pleased and surprised to see a sliding airflow control on the bottom. It is a welcome addition. Second up there is an indicator light on the bottom that illuminates when you take a puff or plug it in to charge. This is where the owner’s manual would have been nice to know what exactly the different colors of lights mean. This I know. When it is fully charged the light is green. As you use it and the 650mah battery drains, the light goes from green to blue and then later to red. Since I have no idea how much battery is left when it turns red, I go ahead and recharge the OB75 using the USB-C charging port on the bottom.

1670029602665.png

The body of the OB75 is made of clear plastic with colorful art designs on it. It’s not only nice to look at but along with the name of the device and the flavor contained inside, they have also listed the features on one side.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The first thing I’d like to say is that the Orion Bar 75’s that I received are very nice and honestly seem too nice for a disposable. The artwork is nice and all nine of them functioned properly while testing them with no issues.

I want to remind you that tastes are subjective. I felt like almost all of the samples that I received had too much cooling agent or menthol in them. Most had good flavors but if I took more than a few puffs in a row then the menthol hurt my throat. I have seen this pattern with other disposables and could see offering menthol in some but would prefer not all of them had it. I use a menthol tobacco that I mix myself regularly and don’t dislike menthol but whatever cooling agent that was used in these was too strong for my tastes in most cases. There were a couple where the menthol wasn’t quite as strong or at least not as noticeable. I made some basic notes as I tried each one of the samples so will give you some brief thoughts on each.

Pineapple Lemonade: It’s a nice pineapple flavor with lemonade in the background. However, there is too much cooling agent and for me it ruins the flavor. I feel like this one would be better with very little cooing or none at all. I used to mix my own lemonade liquid and never used cooling agents.

Cool Mint: To me this one tastes like a mix of wintergreen and peppermint with a fairly strong cooling agent added. I ended up liking this one quite a bit but just couldn’t chain vape it or it hurt my throat.

Rainbow Drop: I think this one tastes like a gumdrop candy but the cooling is once again pretty strong and overpowers the flavor some. Less or no cooling at all would be better.

Blueberry Raspberry: This one is a very nice blend of the two fruit flavors in the name. Once again, a little less cooling would make it better for me. I get raspberry on the inhale and more blueberry on the exhale.

Strawberry Kiwi: I had high hopes of liking this one when I saw the name but once again there’s unnecessarily too much cooling in it. I taste the flavors but there is a weird aftertaste left on the tongue on the exhale. It’s almost like a stale cookie taste.

Lush Ice: This one is a really nice watermelon candy type flavor. I never use watermelon vapes but really like this one. It’s funny to me that this one has ice in the name but doesn’t have any more cooling than any of the rest.

Sour Apple Ice: The apple flavor is very light to me and not really sour in my opinion. I feel like I could taste the flavor better if it wasn’t for so much cooling in it.

Aloe Grape: I had reservations about this one when I saw the name. Aloe isn’t a flavor I think of when I want to add something to an eliquid mix. I don’t love it. What little grape flavor that I taste is overshadowed by the aloe and cooling agent.

Banana Cake: I have seldom used banana flavored liquids so didn’t really know what to expect with this one. It turned out to be in my top 3 of ones I liked out of this batch of samples. To me it tastes like banana pudding with a touch of cooling. The cooling on this one didn’t seem as strong. It was a surprisingly good flavor and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I’d like to thank Lost Vape/ Orion Bar and Jason for sending the Orion Bar 75 disposable samples for this review. Thanks as always to the readers. I appreciate you! Below is a link to the website if you are interested in trying some of these.

How much nicotine in a 5% disposable compared to analog cigarettes

I've been vaping 5% salt nic disposables for a while. I usually get a short nic buzz if I have not hit it for more than a few hours. I spent some time googling to see how much nicotine I'm really getting from 2-3 hits on a 5% disposable. The answers are all over the place.

Is there a reliable formula for comparison? If I have a 3000 puff 5% 6ml vape, assuming 3000 puffs is realistic, how much nicotine would I be getting per puff, and compare that to smoking a full analog, which most say you absorb about 1-2mg of nicotine per cig.

Freemax_Maxus_2_Vape_(5).jpg

Parameters
Dimensions: 89.5 x 51.9 x 31mm
Weight: 143g Case
material: metal + plastic + eco-leather
Power: 2 x 18650
Power: 5 - 200W

Traditionally, we started acquaintances from non-services, which, by the way, were also renewed. It's a very massive tank with a traditional aggressive look. The decor is average, with a simple plastic drip on top.

This Freemax novelty is powered by a replaceable evaporator, which was used, among other things, on its predecessor. However, it was in this version that the developers presented a new type of coil - naturally a sub-ohm coil.
Freemax_Maxus_2_Vape_(2).jpg

All evaporators in the line are manufactured according to the author's technology "FM CoilsTech". The adjustment of the tightening strength is carried out in a standard way - a swivel ring at the bottom of the tank.

The box mod is more interesting, although it's made in a style familiar to fans, and the brand has released many releases in a row.

Wow how the time changes...

Hiya!
Sorry for being so dramatic in the title, but could'nt find a better way to put it.

So i'd like to start with how i started vaping, back in 2012 when i visited germany and they had a disposable cigg-alike. I had never even heard of ecigg back then, i was intrigued by this device.
Looked just like a cigarette, but didn't rly taste much. But it made me interested and went looking online.
Around 2013 i bought my first ego twist / vision spinner with a pro tank. Coupled with a bottle of ry4 24mg bottle.
I remember being so hyped when i got it, this is finally it time to quit smoking.

I was not prepared though how well it would hit, first inhale and it was like a brickwall hit me. Never the less i learned to love the flavour, even tho it wasn't cigarette taste.
Quickly went down to 18mg then 12mg.
Around 5 months later i started being interested in mods, well the few we had. And RTAs.
Ended up with nemesis + kayfun lite. And that stuck with me for a long time.
Keept using that to around 2018. so about 6-5 years. Started some DIY aswell. Then EU laws came about it was just to expensive to continue.

Decided to use snus instead since it's so much cheaper (3$a can of 20 snus vs 10$ 10ml/12mg, for comparision)
So i quit vaping altogether.

So now on to the topic at hand:
So recently i was at the bar and had severe cravings, decided i'll buy a disposable to get me by.
And that reminded me how much i used to love vaping.
I see the landscape is entirely diffrent now. So i spent couple days researching. Decided i'll keep it simple this time and just use pods, as seems to be the king these days.

Didn't take many days until i dusted of my nemesis and kayfun combos.
But to my surprise,, they realy don't taste much better than what the zero 2 and joytech ego kit i went with when i wanted a simple kit.
Still love the kayfun combo tho in terms of looks. But man have tanks evolved, but also devolved (if that's a word?)
I feel there's no tanks out there anymore,, it's all pods now. Which i kinda understands why i guess. But rba/rta market for example, is super dead in sweden. The few sites here only carry 1 brand and only 1 of said brand. While disposables or pods in loads.. kinda sad to see.

And then now the final kicker, another reason i decided to go back vaping is, to quit snus.
Yes you heard me correct.
Eu has now decided to impose on us swedes an impressive 8$ dollar tax on snus, which makes no sense.
Until i learned that swedish match has recently been bought out by philip morris.
This is so sad. And also angers me so much. There's a reason swedes rarely smoke, due our snus. Now they will tax it even worse than e ciggs are, - which is also why i quit vaping to begin with.
To get a 10ml juice here with nic is 10$. You can buy 100ml "shortfill" which you then add 1-2 nic shots to for 3-6mg nico.
So we're basically forced to subohm here.
That all rant said, i now try to use the low 6mg to get me of the snus, just incase. planning to go 0 nic.

But yea EU is now taking away our snus pretty much.
Reason we're angry is due cost has been 3 euro then tax then 4 + tax then 5 eu + tax. Now they want it to cost 12 eu + tax.
Im so annoyed.
So in one way im happy to be back, but also annoyed.
I also i guess forgot my point of this rant. The new devices as small as they are, holy crap do they deliver taste even over the kayfun i was used to.
So that also leads me back to the ry4 part.
I recently ordered graham cracker vanilla custard. It tastes just like the ry4 did back then. So i got quite abit nostalgic.
And since i've been smoke free for many years now. Holy crap does it smell and nearly taste like the Nets i used to use.

Edit: I couln't get the images to show in starter post, so i posted them in each post. Hopefully that's okay.

But ye i was unsure where to post this as ive many rambling but in one post.

UWell Caliburn X Review

Intro

The Caliburn range of pod vapes are much loved by vapers all over the world and I count myself as one of them. The original Calibrun arrived and delivered superior flavour and coils which last longer than the competition. The Caliburn A series has been designed to be super friendly for beginners with no settings to worry about and pods that you dispose of when they're finished. G series (and the Caliburn X) are essentially the same device but the coils in the pods are replaceable, which helps reduce long term cost.

Now the Caliburn X is here and it comes packed with new features.

Before we get excited about those lets just cover off the Caliburn X specification:

Juice Capacity: 3 mL
Firing Method: Draw or button activated
Airflow: Side Adjustable air flow slot
Weight: 46 grams
Output Power: 5-20 watts
Battery capacity: 850mAh
Dimensions: 107.4 (h) x 27.5 (w) x 15.6 mm (d)
Color Options:
Ink Blue
Lake Green
Lilac Purple
Matte Black
Moonlight Silver
Ribbon Red

UWell Caliburn X Kit includes:

1 x UWell Caliburn X device
1 x Caliburn X pod with Meshed-H 0.8Ohm CALIBURN G coil (pre-installed)
1 x UN2 Meshed-H 1.2Ohm CALIBURN G2 coil
1 x Type-C cable
1 x User Manual

UWell Caliburn X New Features:

The first thing that strikes you when you get the Caliburn X out of the packaging is the difference in sizes to previous versions. It's wider and chunkier, which is why it can include a bigger capacity battery (850mAh) and a new OLED screen. The screen is the first for any Caliburn and it displays wattage (which is adjustable), voltage, resistance and puff count. All this is operated using the multi function firing button which does the following:

1 click = fires
2 clicks = locks the firing button (can still be draw activated)
3 clicks = wattage adjustment mode activated (additional presses increase wattage, leave when happy with wattage to set)
4 clicks = reset puff count
5 clicks = turns on and off

Locking the fire button can be extremely useful if your vape spends lots of time in your pocket or bag, to protect against unwanted firing. A neat feature for sure. Wattage adjustment for those who like to adjust their vape to get the perfect vaping experience.

On the Caliburn G2 the airflow was adjustable via a small adjustable airflow wheel contained on the side of the pod. While this was a very effective method for adjusting airflow it did require you to remove the pod. Caliburn X also has adjustable airflow but this time the slot is on the side of the device. While this is a welcome new feature the slider is much too loose and will likely adjust itself if you put it in a bag or a pocket.

uwell-caliburn-x-airflow.jpg

However the airflow adjustment actually provides a perfectly balanced experience depending on what you want. Fully closed you get a warm restricted MTL experience and when fully open a pleasant restricted direct lung.

Two important things remain on the Caliburn X and these two things alone make it the top contender for the best pod system currently available. First up we have the UN2 Meshed-H coils (which were also featured on the Calburn G2). They are replaceable which helps cut down on the cost and they last so much longer than other coils thanks to PRO-Focs technology. You get two in the kit, a 0.8 Ohm (preinstalled) and a 1.2 Ohm. The 0.8 Ohm coil produces a slightly warmer vape with denser, more flavorful clouds. The 1.2 Ohm coil is designed for maximum life span and we can promise you you'll be amazed how long they last.

Nobody likes a leaking vape. UWell were the first manufacturer of pod systems to introduce this method of top fil. You simply snap off the top cap to reveal the fill slot. You don't even need to take out the pod, snap off, refill, snap on. Because of this fill system leaking is minimal to none depending how much care and attention you take when refilling. Once you've had a pod system that refills like this you won't want any other method.

Look and Feel

UWell has a nice habit of using beautiful colors for their vapes. Caliburn X is no different with 6 color options to choose from, I liked the Ink Blue color so decided to get that. The finish is matte and doesn't show any figure prints which is always a good thing. The firing button has diagonal embossed lines across it which make it easy to find with your finger. Caliburn X has a very nice weight to it and feels nice in the hand.

The mouthpiece is slightly larger than the Caliburn G2 but not so much that it's unpleasant. The picture below shows the Caliburn G2 mouthpiece on the left and the Caliburn X on the right.

uwell-caliburn-x-mouthpiece.jpg

The screen while small displays all your need to know information which you can see below.

uwell-caliburn-x-oled-screen.jpg

PROs

✅ Elegant looks
✅ Amazing flavor
✅ Long coil lifespan
✅ Replaceable coils
✅ Top fill
✅ Doesn't leak
✅ Charges quickly

CONs

❌ Slightly pricey
❌ Airflow adjuster too loose
❌ Minimum vape juice levels very high on the pod

Conclusion

Having used and still using the excellent Caliburn G (and Caliburn KOKO before that) for years I've been waiting for it to get an upgrade. Now it's here and I couldn't be happier. All the things that were so good about previous versions are still present in the Caliburn X. Now you get a screen with a puff counter and adjustable wattage. Flavor is amazing, build quality second to none and it vapes so good.
