Good morning, hitt.Good morning. The weather guessers were off a little. It’s -1 right now and we’re only supposed to get up to 6 today. It’s snowing steady and looks like we got 1-2 so far. Possibly ending up with as much as six.
Wow. Our grocery store had some bare spots on some of the shelves but nothing like this! One store was frantically trying to restock shelves and the other wasn't, but there were some small empty spots. Mostly I got what I went for.
Yes I did. I usually get regular barley, but what the store had was pearl barley, medium. They are smaller than what I was used to, but it still works. Use less than you think because they expand as they cook. I usually cook them for a couple minutes in boiling water to get the excess starch out of them. Then strain and dump them into the soup pot.Did you use barley? I see two different kinds, and I was wondering what you used. I want to add it to my next batch of soup.
