Dovpo Limpid Pod Kit | Reviews by Z-Lee

Dovpo Limpid Pod Kit

1665958724506.png

Hello fellow vapers! I'm excited to bring to you the first product that Dovpo's sent to me for the purpose of a review. Coincidentally, the Limpid Pod Kit is their first open system pod device. Considering that this is their first attempt at a pod kit, they've done a pretty great job with it. The device is very easy to use, very sharp looking if you're into the transparent look, and performs better than average. There are some considerations to be taken into account if you were to match this pod device against some of the more well-known pod devices on the market, but in the end, the question is - will it convert you over and/or keep you away from the stinkies? I'll give you my feedback on it and let you decide.

I want to thank @Dovpo_Daisy for coordinating the Limpid Pod Kit for this review. Along with it, I was also sent the Dovpo MVP 2 mod which I'll be reviewing shortly, and also the Dovpo Riva200 mod that I recently won in a giveaway. One thing is for sure, all of their products that I currently own (which are a lot) are very well constructed and present themselves very well in looks and performance.

Alright, let's get into it ~

Testing Results & Observations:
1665970852976.png

The first thing I noticed when unpackaging the Limpid Pod Kit was that it's a very bare bones kit. There really isn't much to it, which coincidentally is how easy this pod device is to use. However, it saddens me when a starter kit doesn't provide a second pod/coil. On Dovpo's website, this pod kit has a price tag of $12.99 which is pretty impressive, but you know where the second pod went. To get your feet wet, I think you get pretty good bang for your buck, but I'd still like to see a second pod/coil. That's going to be one of the only cons I have to mention in this review. Not mentioned in the official packaging is a lanyard. Albeit it's an odd lanyard, but a lanyard at that if you want another option to carry the device around with, so that's kind of a neato addition. A picture of that can be seen below.

Construction & Look:

1665971755991.png

In the top left picture is the included lanyard. I received the black colorway for this review as indicated by the photos above. The external portion of the battery is made of polycarbonate making it resistant to impacts and fracturing. This also allows it to have the transparent look you see. Underneath, you can see the chip that runs the device and also controls the 4 LED indicating lights. The mouthpiece is made of silicone, making it easy to remove from the pod to refill while also feeling soft, thin, and smooth on the lips.

On both sides of the LEDs are the airflow inlets, and on the bottom is the USB Type-C charging port. It's not often that you see Torx screws in a pod device, but I wouldn't unscrew them unless you enjoy clanking. The specs state that the charging speed of the battery is 0.5A (500 mA), but I clocked it at 0.7A which is almost 1.5x faster than its stated. It's nice to see a company being honest and even undershooting their product specs; I can't say this for every company...

Below you can see the spring-loaded brass connectors in the top of the battery, as well as the Auto-Draw sensor that line up perfectly with the pod when seated into the battery. Now, what you don't see here that you usually do, are magnets, which is kind of a nice change. Having so many magnets around on mod doors and pods has actually made it difficult to keep some of them standing up. Instead, there's a small slot/groove etched out just below the rim of the battery that fits into a lip/ridge in the pod. If you have slippery or greasy fingers, at times, this has made it more difficult to get the pod out. However, removing the pod is not necessary to refill it.

The Pod:
1665976142351.png

The pod and coil are a single unit. When the coil goes bad, you toss out the entire pod. Personally, I'm not a fan of this simply for environmental reasons, but there is a big advantage to this, and that's leaking - or lack thereof. I have noticed a little bit of condensation at the bottom of the pod, but there's been absolutely no sign of any juice leakage what-so-ever. Unfortunately the pod I'm using is at the end of its legs and I was not sent a second pod to verify this. I think you can be fairly confident that this pod will not leak, unless there's an assembly error of some kind. The bottom of the pod has 3 O-rings which should hopefully be able to hold off for 4-500 puffs. I'm not entirely sure how many puffs I got out of this coil, but my estimation would be around 4-500. I've refilled the pod 4-5 times, and I'm going to guess that I get around 75-100 puffs per refill. That's not super great for a coil pod, but it's also not that bad. Also keep in mind that I'm using a 70/30 VG/PG juice which is more viscous than a 50/50 ratio. I'm also using a Glazed Donut juice which isn't super sweet, but there's definitely sweetener in it. Both of these factors often lessen the expected coil life.

When the pod is seated into the battery, the seam between the pod and the battery is your "Empty" line. Like your car, you shouldn't let the juice level get down to this point or you're dancing with the devil on when you get a dry hit. Luckily in this case, you won't find yourself stranded on the side of the road.

To refill, remove the mouthpiece which exposes the rubber refill plug. There are no markings or an indicator as seen in the bottom left photo telling you which side to lift up on which is a shame. If you happen to pull out the side of the plug meant to stay in, you're going to have fun getting it back into the tiny hole. This happened to me and the only way I can tell which is the refill side is by holding the pod sideways without the mouthpiece on. The longer dangly string is not the side you want to pull on. Now, I'm not sure if I received a sample or not, but I really hope they add an indicator or a marking during production to distinguish this easier. Better yet, I think they should adopt the refill method that Freemax and Vaporesso are using in their pods that do not require a pull plug.

Once the plug is pulled out, the refill hole is large enough to fill a 120 mL Chubby Gorilla bottle nozzle in it, so there are no concerns there. Remember not to refill the juice all the way up to the refill hole.

LEDs:

1665977424359.png

Not much to be said here, I think the LEDs are pretty self-explanatory. They are however, a bit lackluster. The diodes blink white when you insert the pod letting you know a connection has been made (they're showing up blue in the picture for whatever reason, but they're clearly white). When the mod battery reaches below 30% life, the LEDs will flash red when taking a puff. When recharging, the LEDs will pulse red when below 30% life and then white when above 30% life, and will then turn off when the battery is fully charged. There are also safety protections are indicated with specific flashing patterns, but you'll have to dig through the User Manual to find those out. A 3rd light indicator would have been nice to show an additional segment of life in the battery maybe at 70 or 80% life. Between 30 and 70%, a white flash followed by a red flash and above 70% being white. Being that there's also 4 LEDs, maybe a single LED to show less than 25% life, 2 LEDs for 50%, and so on.

Performance and Airflow:

The original and only pod that came with the kit is now on its last legs. Overall, I've been pretty happy with Dovpo's first pod release. Are there some things to improve on? Yes, functionality-wise. The flavor output however has been very consistent and good to say the least.

The airflow is a one-size-fits-all. For those that previously smoked, you know what kind of draw a packed cigarette has. I wouldn't quite call this a "true" MTL in relation to a packed cigarette, but probably closer to an unpacked cigarette. However, if you want more of a "true" MTL draw, you can plug one or both airflow holes on the sides to achieve this. Plugging both holes is actually a very restricted MTL which I've enjoyed using the most - you get a bit more of a throat hit that way. The Auto-Draw sensor is quite touchy and works very well whether you're feathering the airflow holes or not.

Of all the pod devices I've used up until now, this device sits in the upper half for flavor production. It's not "the best", but it's far from the worst. For flavor production, I'd give it a 7 out of 10. For consistency, I'd give it a 9 out of 10.

Pros/Cons/Considerations:

+ + Pros + +
∎ No leaking
∎ Pocket-friendly
∎ Well-built
∎ Cool transparent look
∎ Consistent vape
∎ Auto-Draw is sensitive
∎ Feels good between the lips
∎ Mouthpiece removes easily
∎ Very easy to see various juice levels
∎ 800 mAh internal battery
∎ USB Type-C charging (0.7A verified)
∎ Good bang for your buck

- - Cons - -
∎ Only one coil/pod in the kit
∎ Refill plug has no indicator for which side to pull up on (this may be a sample)

+ - Considerations - +
∎ Comes with a lanyard
∎ No power options
∎ No airflow options - very loose MTL (unless you use your fingers)
∎ No coil resistance options
∎ Pod can be difficult to pull out with slick fingers
∎ Light indicators are a bit lackluster

Overall Rating:
8

A few things to work on, but overall a solid vape.

That about wraps it up folks. If you're looking for a cheap entry into vaping, or wanting something that likely won't leak on you, Dovpo's Limpid Pod Kit is for you. I hope I answered any questions you may have about this kit. If not, please feel free to respond to this post for as long as it's open, or PM me. You can find the Limpid Pod Kit here. The price is $12.99 before S&H as of the date of this posting. Thank you for reading, and I'll hopefully catch you in the next review. Cheers!

Happy vape hoarding!

FREEMAX GALEX AND GALEX NANO - Review by Javichu

Salutations fellow vaperinos.

Today's review is a twofer, both devices from the same company, almost the same performance, same coils and just some slight variations and changes.
Will post 2 times in this thread and each one will be a review for said device, will get started with the Freemax Galex Nano.

As my usual MO i will start with some pictures so you can get an idea of the type of device i will be talking about today.

Unboxing and first impressions:

Oh wow at first glance i thought i was going to review a key chain,is this really a vaping device?
Proper packaging that comes with everything neatly arranged so we can start our vaping journey.
This is one of those times where you can't be fooled by the size, device is small but it really feels like it can take a fall or two.
Time for the grip it and rip test, always like to grip and apply pressure to vaping apparatus to see if i hear any clicks, clacks, clickity clacks, snaps, snips, chips and dips.
Happy to report that not a sound was heard, this may be a small device like really small but it is also well made and built to last.

Vaping time:

Ok so time to fill the 2ml tank and use the 1.0 ohm coil which comes pre installed.
Now i don't know why and maybe its just me but i really struggled getting the top cap/duck shape drip off so i could refill the pod.
Hands were dry and not sweaty and all and yet the plastic would just slide out when i was trying to remove the top,weird...
Had to end up getting some of those latex gloves and i was able to get it off, this wasn't a one time thing you know like sometimes it can be an item that needs to be broken into so it gets easier to remove.

Filled the pod and i let it sit there while i looked over the commands for the power output and LED color options, the Galex Nano is an autodraw pod like device so the ''fire'' button on the side is just there to check the status of your battery, switch colors of the LEDS or turn them all altogether and to adjust the power output.

Gotta be honest here, used the device from morning to night and the first day i pressed the ''fire'' button several times when i wanted to vape, what can i say muscle memory for us none pod user affects us this way.
Day after i kinda forgot the ''fire'' button was there but it still felt a bit odd looking at it,there is a ''fire'' button yet it isn't a ''fire'' button but i still want to press the ''fire'' button.

When i started vaping i wanted to properly break in the coil so i used it for 30 minutes or so on the lowest power output (Red Led),switched to medium (Blue Led) then ended up with the max power output of 4.2V (Green Led)

The 1.0 ohm coil was good, tasty vape at max voltage but once i used it for 2 days and then switched to the 0.8ohm that is when it really all came together.
Much better taste and some more cloud production at max voltage of 4.2V (Green Led) and using the 0.8ohm coil, for this coil i just used my freebase e-liquid,usual 70/30 with Shiva aroma and yeah for such a little device i was getting a good vape.

Pros:

-Spanish saying that goes ''pequeño pero maton'' meaning small but a killer.
Performance surprising for such a small little thing.
-Ability to choose 3 different power outputs
-Sturdy,one would think a device of this size would be flimsy but not in this case
-Easy refill (except for my little problem removing the top cap which could be just a ''me'' issue

Cons:

-The ''fire'' button, this maybe just me and my OCD but it just feels weird to have it there, looks like a fire button, clicks like a fire button and you can press it like a fire button but it isn't a fire button, yeah drove me a bit crazy he he
-Removing the top cap,i don't know if its just me and maybe i have some weird Mediterranean coating on my hands and fingers but i struggled in removing the top cap when it was time to refill the pod.

Would i recommend this device:

If you're a MTL user and you want something small but not flimsy then yeah this is the device for you.
I carried it around my neck for almost 5 days and sometimes instead of taking out my mod from my man bag i would just use the Galex Nano i had dangling from my neck.

Thanks to my friends at Freemax for sending me this product so i could review it,here is the link to their website with more info about this product:

Thank y'all for reading :)

A & L Ultimate Ragnarok Sweet Edition Concentrate

The product came in a 30ml bottle with a rather nice graphic. According to the manufacturer, it is a red berry mixture of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries, supplemented with cooling agent. Recommended mixing is 5-7%, which seems economical if we calculate it afterwards. Blend 70VG-30PG 6%, aged for one week. Already from the smell, you can feel that this will be a powerful fruity product. I usually taste each aroma with a new roll, and I did so in this case as well. The first tasting was a jaw-dropping experience because of the loyalty. The cold feeling in it is very striking, even for me, although this may be subjective. The smell of the steam is deliciously fruity, on the other hand, I think the taste is suppressed by the icy feeling. You can feel the fruits in it, it is not very sweet, but the smell is more like the fruits in it. Regardless, it is a very delicious aroma concentrate that I can confidently recommend to fruit lovers.

FREEMAX GALEX NANO KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Once again welcome back for my review of the brother of the GALEX Pod device called the GALEX NANO, The two are almost identical in features but the Nano has a few that it's brother the GALEX doesn't have. Both share the LED light features if you choose to engage them as well as Pod and coils and both are auto-draw only with a 800mAh internal battery housed in both but that's it. The NANO has 3 power levels you can adjust while it's brother's wattage/voltage is adjusted automatically based on the coil being used. There are 2 airflow holes on the GALEX but only 1 on the NANO, more about that in my review. This device is called NANO for a reason, lets check it out.

VooPoo Drag H80s

A short while back I won a contest where the prize from VooPoo was the drag H80S pod mod kit. I received it in a very timely fashion and while I see there are other reviews I think they are more formal reviews I just want to go over how I feel about the prize that I won without getting too far into the technicals as the formal reviewers have covered that.

The thing that interests me the most about this device is that VooPoo has once again decided to release a device that will accommodate a seriously large line of their previous coils. I cannot stress how important that is to me as a consumer. There are so many devices that I really wanted but because they came out with a new coil line and we're producing so many products with new coils that were non-compatible with one another I don't want to invest in a product and then a year later have the coil no longer available. I appreciate the fact that VooPoo almost always strives to include as many different coil options as possible.

I started out by trying the original PNP coils and they fit wonderfully. Then I moved on to the RBA because I consider an RBA to be a mandate if I'm going to use a company's kit. And the RBA fits perfectly. I'm fairly confident in my building and there has been no leaking.

The refilling of the pod is quite nice. It is a top fill pod. The top cap has a very simple one turn back type latch so you just move it slightly counterclockwise to open it up and take it off and then you refill through their gasketed entry points that will fit the vast majority of different vape juice bottles or droppers. Then you simply put the top cap back on and turn it clockwise and it locks into place. Because these are a plastic material it was very smart in my opinion for VP to not make it a full screw on but rather just a little locking device. With time repeated screwing on and off of a cap could wear out the threading and they are going to avoid this the way they did it. The tank I believe holds 4.5 ml which is significant for a mod that is a single 18650 that goes up to 80 watts.

The mod itself has a very nice feel to it. It's got a good heft while not being heavy. It fits comfortably in your hand the power button is intuitive and nice and clicky. And the design of how they did the airflow is rather unique. The pod sets in an attractive looking area where the air flow is two-sided and on the bottom and then they've got a little cut out design that allows you to see the bottom of your pod and also just looks regal. You turn the entire tank to open and close the airflow. And you do have the option of making it one-sided if you wish on either side but I prefer the balance feel.

What they did particularly well that can be a pitfall for many of these pod mods the air flow is not in a location where your fingers would naturally go and cover it up. So you're not having to adjust your grip in order to not reduce the air flow with your fingers accidentally. That's very nice because so many different pod systems put the airflow in a place where your fingers naturally want to go. Whether you are a thumb fire or an index finger fire you will not have any issue.

The screen is bright and intuitive with a push of both the up and down buttons bringing you to your menu. I believe it is the gene TT 2.0 chip. And the battery cover is I think they call a c shape cover I believe. It's one of the ones where you pull the entire cover off and it's magnetized with a very strong magnet and then you place the battery in and the battery cover goes back on rather than something you have to screw unscrew or stick your finger in to try to get the latch open this is probably my favorite method of battery containment. I don't want to break a nail trying to put my battery in lol.

Overall I think that this is a product worth getting. Especially if you already enjoy any of the PNP coils. This takes so many different coils. And these are some of the most popular coils out there that are likely to be found in people's local shops in the US. That is very important right now with the situation concerning mailing of vape devices. You want a company and a device that is going to give you as many choices as possible for the coil. This is truly something that you can purchase and know that coils will be available for many many years to come. I would recommend this product. It's got a few new neat things put together good feel I think it's a very attractive device. It feels like it's quality but it's not too heavy. The pod is interesting seems like it would be a tough thing to break since it's protected by the mod it's almost as though it's holding it like a side-by-side mod would.

It's just a very attractive design a very well thought out product and a respectful company that isn't trying to nickel dime us to death with having to purchase all new coils for every new device that we get. Therefore they are allowing us to purchase a new device without having to commit to a brand new coil series that may only be around for a year. However you still can use the coils that most recently came out with this device. So you have the best of both worlds.

There was only one thing that I would change and it doesn't actually have to do with this device. I think that it is time for VooPoo to create and release a new RBA that is compatible with all of these devices. The one that they have now is usable but it is small and a little bit awkward in the way that your cotton tails have to go. I feel like they could make a product a little bit easier to use for everyone. I know it has to be small to be compatible with all of these devices and there are limitations to what can be done but I think that they could improve upon their RBA. But that is all!

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; how it is made:
The vaping mode provided is entrusted solely to the button and the refillable cartridges can be both 2ml and 5ml, depending on the LUXE X (XR) cartridges you purchase. On the front panel, the transparent part clearly highlights the chipset and the black gradient running down the facade gives LUXE X (XR) a remarkable "Sex Appeal". Below on the dark part, you will also find the LED with 3 signal lights for an excellent visual contrast during its lighting. At the top on the perimeter of the body of the Mod there is a sturdy metal band, just over 2cm high which houses the protruding Fire key on the front side and well sized to be comfortably reached by the fingers. On the rear panel there is the new Vaporesso logo, engraved directly on the metal. Below you find the name "Luxe".

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; Operation Guide:
● These are the Vaping and LED monitoring operations of this device. I hope the following pointers can help you understand how this product works. The AXON chip automatically detects the resistance of the coil introduced, then automatically and in the best way adjusts the output power for each cartridge.

• Power On / Off: 5 clicks on Fire-
• The LED shows 3 lights on when the charge level is between 60 and 100%
• The LED shows 2 lights on when the charge level is between 30 and 60%
• The LED shows 1 light on when the charge level is 30% or less
• During recharging, the battery charge level is shown in real time through the number of lights on.
• Exceeding the 8s limit of uninterrupted vape, the led flashes 3 times and the device switches off to safeguard the life of the resistance.
• Low Resistance Protection: The 3 LED lights flash 5 times and the device switches off.
• Short circuit protection: The 3 LED lights flash 5 times and the device turns off.
• No Load Protection: The circuit does not detect the atomizer, the LED flashes 3 times.
• High resistance protection: The 3 LED lights flash 3 times and the device switches off.
• Low voltage protection: The 3 LED lights flash 3 times and the device turns off.
• Overcharge Protection: Charging when completed stops automatically

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; Airflow Control:
The two narrow sides of LUXE XR show on one side the description of the 1,500mAh internal battery and on the other side you can read "Vaporesso". At the top of the metal band there are two buttonholes, one on each side. The slots have different dimensions and are not externally adjustable, but you can adjust the air flow according to the side with which you will insert the cartridge in the Mod. The only flaw is that there is no reference mark to insert the cartridge in a way rather than the other. Not bad because after taking a shot, a nanosecond of your time is enough to flip the cartridge to the other side.

Vaporesso LUXE XR Pod Kit 10.jpg

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; Compartment / pod:
On the bottom of the compartment, you can see 4 round shaped magnets one for each corner, this position of the magnets allows a solid docking of the Pod, in the center there are 3 spring loaded and gold plated pins for better electrical conductivity. Also on the bottom there is a fixed raised pin which has the task of keeping the cartridge steady and stable in combination with the action of the 4 magnets. You can use either the Luxe X disposable cartridges or the new XR cartridges with GTX replaceable coils.

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; Fast charging:
The 5V / 1.5A Type-C charging port is located on the bottom so the device will be lying down while charging. In about 60 minutes, the recharge of the 1,500mAh internal battery will be completed.

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; XR cartridge
The two pods included in the XR kit are labeled MTL and RDL. They look the same but are slightly different. The difference is the size of the extraction hole which is narrower in the cartridge for MTL. Additionally, the MTL cartridge has a smaller airflow hole in the pod base. Apart from the replaceable GTX coils instead of the integrated ones, nothing has changed, even the new XR cartridge has a capacity of 5ml of e-liquid and stands out from the mass of Pods, giving Vaporesso another advantage for choosing a Pod device rather than another. The refill takes place from below through the classic silicone rubber and despite the dark color cartridge, you can easily see the internal level of the e-liquid. The arrangement of the magnets is mirrored to that present in the compartment / pod.

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; Replaceable GTX Coils:
With LUXE XR you will receive two different Mesh Coils both equipped with COREX heating technology just like in the LUXE X Pods, this to provide more accurate flavor and longer shelf life. The GTX coils included in the kit are; 1 Mesh coil of 0.4Ω with range 26-32W for the RDL cartridge and 1 Mesh coil of 0.8Ω with range 12-16W for the MTL cartridge. Keeping in mind the maximum output limit of the Mod is 40W, you can also use the 0.6Ω and 1.2Ω GTX coils as spare parts. So the choice of GTX replaceable coils for MTL or RDL is substantial.

Vaporesso-LUXE-XR-Pod-Kit-13.jpg

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; New 0.6Ω Disposable Pod:
Together with the updated cartridges for replaceable GTX coils, Vaporesso sent me the new 0.6Ω disposable cartridge. It is a cartridge for RDL that completes the disposable "X" line together with the previous ones of 0.4Ω RDL and 0.8Ω MTL. So currently there are 3 options of "X" cartridges, I remind you that the disposable cartridges are available in blister packs of 2 pieces.

► Vaporesso Luxe XR Pod Kit; Final conclusions:
Lately I've been gaining a lot of familiarity with Pod devices of all kinds, whether they are; refillable, pre-filled, or disposable, of all shapes and from many manufacturers. This happens because Pod systems have invaded the market and companies try to promote these devices by leveraging some features that many vapers seek and are; pocket kits, absolute ease of use, high performance, large battery capacity.

• RDL Mesh Coil GTX 0.4Ω Range 26-32W:
Combined with the XR cartridge for RDL this GTX Mesh Coil allows you to get very high but also very balanced RDL performance from your Luxe Pod and without the steam getting hot! The clouds are dense and impressive and the taste absolutely good, it is no mystery that GTX coils are among the best and most popular on the market today. By rotating the cartridge 180 ° you get a slightly tighter airflow with more throat hit. The puff remains quite "loose" with both settings and the noise during extraction is quite civil. No inconvenience and no condensation while you are chasing clouds with this coil.

• MTL Mesh Coil GTX 0.8Ω Range 12-16W:
Paired with the XR cartridge for MTL this GTX Mesh Coil allows you to tune your Luxe Pod over a pretty wide and satisfying MTL range. The puff remains fluid even in the tightest airflow position, with a dark and quiet sound, lots of HIT and satisfying flavor. By rotating the pod 180 ° you get a smoother puff and greater steam production, the hit in the throat is less but it is well balanced. This cartridge in combination with the GTX coils for MTL I think it will be able to satisfy many vapers.

• New Disposable Mesh Pod LUXE X 0.6Ω:
The application of Corex technology is feels, this Mesh coil offers rapid heating with a high vapor production, especially with the air regulation set to the largest air passage, in this configuration the flow is loose in perfect style RDL. The rotation of the cartridge in the Mod allows you to slightly counter the Puff and increase the perception of hit in the throat (Hit). With this disposable cartridge, vaporization is always fluid and free of spitting and the vapor never gets too hot, the flavor is really concentrated and good comparable to that of an equivalent GTX coil.

Among all the pod mod kits I have tried, this Vaporesso Luxe X (XR) is certainly one of the most beautiful and performing Pod-Mods ever. You will have a great time whether you decide to use it in MTL or RDL with replaceable GTX coils and with disposable cartridges! Vaporesso has thought of everything and provides you with a complete line of disposable cartridges and two different customized cartridges for MTL or RDL that can accommodate your favorite GTX coils.

I would like to thank Danny and Vaporesso for providing me with the kit. I hope this review was helpful for anyone looking to purchase the Luxe (X) XR Pod Kit.
Thanks for reading.

VAPORESSO LUXE XR POD KIT review by hittman

Hello again. I know you’ve been seeing a lot of me lately but that’s because I received several review samples very close together. Today I will be taking a look at the VAPORESSO LUXE XR. Now that might sound familiar since I had recently reviewed the VAPORESSO LUXE X but this one although similar is different and deserves to be taken a look at. In case you missed it, here is the review I did on the LUXE X. VAPORESSO LUXE X KIT review by hittman | E-Cigarette Forum (e-cigarette-forum.com)

The appearance of the Luxe XR is very similar to the Luxe X and the pods are interchangeable. As a matter of fact, I was sent the newer .6 ohm sealed pod along with the Luxe XR sample that I received. When I tested the Luxe X I was very fond of the .4 ohm sealed pod for RDL. When I say sealed pod, I mean that it is not possible to change the coil. The main new feature of the XR is that it is compatible with multiple coils from the GTX series which I have been a big fan of for a long time. The XR has a 1500mah battery built in with a maximum output of 40 watts which restricts it from using some of the lower resistance/ higher wattage GTX coils. The included pod has a 5ml capacity which is very nice for such a small pod device. Even though a lot of the promotional pictures are the same as the ones for the Luxe X, I will go ahead and show them for those that missed the previous review.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

Although there are many similarities between the Luxe X and Luxe XR, there are a few differences. When I first received the Luxe X, I was surprised that a pod of that size did not have replaceable coils. That being said, I very quickly took to the .4 ohm sealed pod and almost immediately ordered some spare pods. The Luxe XR is an improved version of an already great pod device.

The packaging for the Luxe XR is very nice as I have come to expect from Vaporesso. The front has a color picture of the actual device contained inside in the same color. Some companies use the same image for all colors but Vaporesso did not with the Luxe XR. Also on the front is the large Vaporesso logo in green.

The back side has a complete list of contents, specifications, company information, a bar code stating that this sample is the Galaxy Red version, and a warning near the bottom.

1665790406843.png

1665790431019.png

Once the outer sleeve is removed then you are greeted by the Luxe XR with a pod and coil already installed and a black sleeve on the right side that contains the user manual. Under the sleeve is a USB-C charging cable and a second pod with a coil already installed in it as well. Now this is how you ship a pod kit! I’ve reviewed several pod kits where only one coil or one pod is included in the kit and I don’t approve of that. A second coil or pod should be included in every pod kit in my opinion. Then here comes Vaporesso who not only gives you two coils but also two pods so you can try different liquids in each pod with each coil. Well done Vaporesso!

1665790510620.png

1665790546424.png

The two pods included are labeled MTL and RDL. The look similar at first glance but are a little different. The first difference is the size of the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is a little smaller on the MTL pod. The other thing that I noticed is that the MTL pod has a smaller airflow hole in the base of the pod. In the first picture below you can see that the RDL pod is on top with the larger airflow hole. Also notice that there are four magnets to hold the pod into the battery portion securely. The fill port on these new pods is just like the ones on the Luxe X with the plug on one end with an arrow and can be rotated slightly out of the way for a mess free filling experience. Also Vaporesso has done a great job with their SSS leak proof technology to virtually eliminate any kind of leaking issues. At least this has been my experience since they started using this technology.

Although the Luxe XR does not have a conventional airflow control, you can rotate the pod 180 degrees to switch the amount of airflow that is given. This is accomplished by the raised platform on the pod that limits the airflow then when rotated there is no longer restricted.

1665790627689.png

1665790658953.png

The coils included in the kit are the GTX series .4 ohm mesh coil rated at 26-32 watts for the RDL pod and the .8 ohm mesh coil rated for 12-16 watts. Although these two are included, you can also use the .6 ohm and 1.2 ohm mesh coils. I probably wouldn’t recommend running any of the lower resistance coils due to the 40 watt limitation of the output available.

1665790800334.png

1665790834693.png

The body of the Luxe XR is much like the original Luxe X. It uses the Axon chip with smart control having a 1500mah battery and a charging rate of 1.5A. The body is made of three layers to make it durable and scratch resistant while maintaining a Crystal Clear body that allows the user to see the electronics inside. I’m glad that they didn’t make the body light up. I think it would have cheapened the appearance of the device.

The back side of the XR shown in the picture below on the left has the Vaporesso logo on the speckled red portion that is supposed to emulate the look of the galaxy thus the name “Galaxy Red”. Below that is the Luxe name done very stylishly.

The front has the single fire button. Just like the Luxe X, the XR has one button to fire the device and no screen or adjustment buttons. The Axon chip automatically adjusts depending on the resistance of the coil used in the pod. Below the button is the “Crystal Clear” body that allows you to see the electronics inside with the AXON name in the middle. On the front of the XR there are three battery indicator lights that illuminate when firing the device or charging. The three lights indicate the following battery ranges.

  • Three lights illuminated = 60%-100% battery level
  • Two lights illuminated = 30%-60% battery level
  • One light illuminated = <30% battery level
The Luxe XR also has some built in safety protections like the Safety Mode. This is a cutoff timer. If you press the fire button longer than 8 seconds then the lights will flash three times and shut the device off. In order to continue using it then you will have to do the five presses of the fire button to turn it back on. The other protections built into the Luxe XR via the Axon chipset are as follows.

Low resistance: The lights flash five times and output stops

Short circuit protection: The lights flash five times and output stops

No Load: Current power level light flashes three times and output stops

High Resistance: Current power level light flashes three times and output stops

Low Voltage: All lights flash three times and output stops

Overcharge Protection: Device stops charging automatically when battery level is full

The red portion wraps around the entire mod and on one side is the Vaporesso name. Also there is a different size airflow hole on each side of the XR to help with the airflow difference when you rotate the pod. The USB-C charging port that allows the XR to be charged in about an hour is on the bottom of the mod just like it was on the Luxe X.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have written reviews for Vaporesso for years now and they seem to continue to put out one quality product after another. To this day I still use the very first Xros that they sent me for review when it was initially designed and released. The Luxe XR is a welcome improvement to the Luxe X with the ability to use sealed pods or open pods that can be used with at least four different GTX coils that I know of. The GTX coils have always been a very good flavor producing coil in my opinion. I have a stockpile of the earlier GTX coils that were made before the third o ring was added like what is on the existing series of coils.

The .4 ohm mesh coil gave very good flavor and vapor production using it in the pod labeled DTL. I preferred it turned to provide the maximum airflow. It provides a very nice RDL but isn’t quite enough to be a loose DL. The .8 ohm coil also produced very good flavor with the MTL pod turned to provide the most airflow available and gave a loose MTL type of draw. I used Dinner Lady Purple Rain on the .4 ohm coil mixed at 70/30 and used RY4 Cream on the .8 ohm coil also mixed at 70/30. Not once did I get a dry hit with either one even when chain vaping. I did notice a slight loss in performance when the battery level had been at one indicator light lit so knew it was time to recharge before it was completely dead.

I think it’s wonderful that Vaporesso included two different pods and two different coils with the Luxe XR kit to enhance the user experience right out of the box. I know I don’t really need to tell you this but YES I’d definitely recommend the Vaporesso Luxe XR for you if you are looking for a small pocket carry pod that vapes like a mod and tank to some extent. To me the RDL experience with this one is very enjoyable.

I’d like to thank Vaporesso and Danny for sending the Vaporesso Luxe XR Kit for this review. Thanks also to you the reader that takes time out of their day to read my reviews. Below is a link to the website so you can see all of the great devices that Vaporesso has to offer.

FREEMAX GALEX POD DEVICE REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello again folks and welcome back for today's review of the Galex Pod MTL Device from Freemax, I was sent a sample version that is a first batch that goes out to reviewers for feedback and not the final retail version. The Galex is a simple and easy system having no buttons, information display screen or adjustments. Having a auto-draw feature is great if the device performs well and having the wattage pre-set depending on the coil used also is a great feature if it works well. Airflow is also pre-set so this is where some people will like it or not based on your inhale type of either loose or tight or somewhere in the middle, is a I'll cover all of it in my review so you can determine if it's a good fit for you. Before my review of the Galex lets check out some information on it supplied from Freemax.

I'm looking for a good place to buy mesh coils online for my RDTA.

I'm not sure this was the best place to post my thread, but it looked right to me. I'm new to RDTA tanks. I like it a lot, but I'm having trouble finding mesh coils locally. I've looked online without 100% success. I want 18 ohm mesh coils. I wasn't able to find any.
I googled the best mesh coils for flavor. 0.18 ohms was the answer I got. I'm using a 0.13 ohms nexMESH coil now. It's ok, but I'd like better flavor. I don't care about big clouds of smoke. I care about a smooth/ flavorful smoking experience.
I'm hoping someone can point me to some good online sites where I be able to find the mesh coils I want.
