Nucleo

Hi,

Has anyone here tried the Nucleo chipset by Omegavaper?

I'm looking at getting a Sunbox squonk that is available with both Nucleo and DNA60, and I was curious how they compare to each other, especially in TC performance. Efficiency and battery life as well.

Recently bought an SqEvo with the DNA60, so another one would be nice in that I could just copy profiles etc across, but the Nucleo board looks really interesting.

If I should post this elsewhere let me know, I just thought this was the best place as I'm partially asking about TC. There's no chipset subforum :)

Thanks.

Closed/Sold UD Bellus, Free to good home (you pay shipping).

Just throwing a feeler post out there before I start throwing stuff away. I have a practically new UD Bellus in the original packaging. I tried using it twice with disastrous results. A lot of folks loved this tank back in 2014-2015, and more people hated it with a passion (I'm in this group). I would suggest some familiarity with this tank just to avoid frustration.

If you want it I can either ship in a small flat rate box for $10 or put in a bubble envelope for $7. Funds to be forwarded to my PayPal F&F with no mention of vape products. I'll forward tracking immediately after I ship it.

CONUS only.

Steam Crave Aromamizer Classic MTL RTA - Review

Hi ECF members, In this review I take a look at the Aromamizer Classic MTL RTA from Steam Crave. The Steam Crave Aromamizer Classic MTL RTA was supplied for the purpose of this review by Sue from the Healthcabin.

Steam Crave Aromamizer Classic MTL RTA

8KrlJVE.png

Introduction

Steam Crave have quite a cult following and are mainly known for their large RDTA's but in more recent times have been much more diverse even showing they are very capable of delivering quality MTL Atomizers! Here I take a look at their latest MTL offering the Aromamizer Classic MTL RTA which has exactly the same drop in deck design which gets fed from a tank above as their RDTA's so why they are calling this an RTA is a bit confusing but then what most refer to as an RDTA these days are actually Top Coilers so nothing is at it seems anymore!

As well as having the usual drop in deck design Steam Crave are known for which does give the possibility of having future deck designs the Classic utilises side airflow pins for different MTL and even a RDL draw! The 23mm tank size allows for a respectable 3.5mm juice capacity while maintaining a deck size more akin to a 22mm atomizer which in my opinion is the ideal size for MTL! With the usual outstanding build quality we have come to expect from Steam Crave and coming in 2 colour options, let's check out the Aromamizer Classic MTL RTA!

Aesthetics

The Classic is immaculately presented in the usual Steam Crave flip open presentation box, I received the Black, the options are Black or Stainless Steel. The front has the Steam Crave logo carved into the lower metal while we have more carved branding to the rear, to both sides we get more aesthetic features in the form of airflow pins that screw into position.

Above the metal we have a glass section which is followed by a stepped top cap and metal nipple style MTL drip tip (a straight Delrin drip tip is included). The bottom of the RTA has the decks retainer base section which has knurling which matches the knurling to the top cap, both helping with grip! On the base we have the usual branding, safety stamps and a Gold plated 510 pin. With it's 23mm diameter but small drop in deck into a reduced chamber it retains classic MTL attributes while it's slightly bigger diameter allows it to look much better on most devices!

What You Receive?

In the box you receive the Classic RTA with installed metal MTL nipple style drip tip, 3.5ml glass and the two 1.0mm side airflow pins installed. You also receive a straight Delrin drip tip with the same size narrow bore if you prefer, below is a photo with the Delrin drip tip installed!

HrOulna.jpg

OMHFvx5.jpg

You also receive the customary Steam Crave sticker, extensive manual, T-piece tool, spare 3.5ml glass and a handy little tub housing the other accessories!

mp42YE2.jpg

Inside the Accessories tub we get a bag of spare O-rings and screws, a simple round wire coil K-A1, 28 Ga, ID 2.5mm, 7 wraps, 0.4ohm, a fused clapton Ni80, 32 Ga*2+38 Ga, ID 2.5mm, 5 wraps, 1.0ohm, and the other different sized airflow pins.

fwwQ5RS.jpg

_________________________________________________________________________

It's Various Parts!

Up top we have a narrow bore metal drip tip which as mentioned can be swapped for a Delrin version, the top cap fastens to the tank via threading to the chimney section with a top O-ring for a good seal. I much prefer a bayonet fitment but this has silky smooth threading and can be removed and re-installed very quickly!

The chimney section screws away from the lower metal section of the tank leaving the top section of the fill plate with chimney, lower retainer ring which sits between the glass and lower metal section and the glass between, all these parts disassemble very easily!

P4P3xFh.jpg

To the top of the bottom metal section we have 2 slots that allow the juice to travel down cavities in the double walled lower section and feed the deck from below. The base screws off revealing the Classic utilises a drop in deck that pulls out. Looking inside the chamber we can see the reduced upper section where the build area will sit and an airflow pin to either side which will hit the sides of the coil with jets of air!

p5akT1h.jpg

Below is the tank completely taken apart:

1e8PFNR.jpg

_________________________________________________________________________

The Airflow Pins

The airflow on the Classic is adjusted by fitting different sized pins into the sides, as usual you get the obligatory blind pin but as this is direct airflow to the sides of your coil and not airflow feeding a bottom airflow outlet it's beyond any logic I can think of to have airflow only hitting one side of the coil so needless to say the blind pin is something I will just never use!

The pins screw into the tank so you will need to use a screwdriver until they are out far enough to get a grip with your fingers, likewise to fasten them in position a screwdriver is needed to tighten. Obviously they are small pins so you need to keep them safe as they can easily get lost but that just goes with the territory of MTL tanks that use some form of airflow inserts or pins! My main concern is with the Black tank especially if someone likes to constantly swap out the pins will the heads of the pins and finish surrounding the area to where they get installed get scuffed up, only time will tell!

WNVquRw.jpg

On the Black pins included with the Black Classic the size of the bore on each pin is clearly labelled in White although obviously the writing is very small but it's hard to see how they could be labelled any better with being so small in diameter!

Obviously when writing this review I have already tried the various pins so this is how I found them:

0.8mm - not super tight but still a tight MTL draw (too tight for my preference)
1.0mm - A cigarette type draw which I really enjoyed for MTL with this particular RTA (pre-installed pins)
1.5mm - Still a MTL but on the loose side
2.0mm - Very versatile still possible to do a MTL but very loose but these pins installed gives a very decent RDL draw

_________________________________________________________________________

The Deck and Build

The deck has posts at the diagonal which have top terminals with grub screws fastening from the sides, so very similar to how you would install the coil on a postless deck. Apart from little MTL coils are a bit fiddly (to be honest now lockdown is over I need to get my eyes tested, struggling a bit) this is a very easy way of installing a coil, we also have a little wall each side with a cutout to rest a coiling rod to get the perfect height! You do however need to cut the legs of the coil to the correct length, the posts are about 2mm in height with good sized grub screws so it does allow for a little in length error and will still get trapped nicely into position, it does say 4.5mm if you wish to use a coil cutting guide tool!

The pictured build was using the Ni80 Clapton which came out at 0.92ohm, since I have also done a second build using one of @Charln Hybrid SS/N80 MTL Aliens (Bearded Viking Customs) which is also purring nicely!
After fastening your leads into position just give your coil a few low wattage pulses and strum out any hotspots until the coil glows from the middle outwards!

mZQUsJe.jpg

Then feed your cotton through the coil and leave each end long enough to feed down to the bottom where it will get fed with juice from below, then fluff up and tuck down! I then primed the cotton and gave it a few pulses to admire my work, fitted the deck into the chamber, screwed on the base section and filled!

Y4kDImQ.jpg

_________________________________________________________________________

My Thoughts!

Let's put it this way I have been using the Classic for a couple of weeks and already purchased a Stainless Steel version based on it's performance but I have had one issue with it!

After a build and fill it's a dream but when refilling at first I got quite bad flooding, I have since increased the cotton which did make a difference but after 2 builds and about 6 re-wicks trying different amounts of cotton I still get an over-saturated vape just after a fill although it soon clears after a few vapes and then begins to puurrrrrr!

The Classic is super smooth with the only sound being the crackle of the coil, I particularly like the 1.0mm air pins which is a bit tighter than I normally do MTL but with the classic it's such a smooth vape with flavour for days, I also enjoyed a very decent RDL with the 2.0mm pins despite not using a coil which would be more suited to vaping this way and although the Classic doesn't give a Super tight draw the 0.8mm pins should be tight enough for most! Of course you do have that blind pin for more draw options but having the air from just one side isn't for me!

Other pros are the looks, build quality (including silky smooth threading) and 3.5ml capacity! I do worry about the Black finish with needing to use a screwdriver to loosen and tighten the pins but can't really put it has a con because that's something only time will tell. I also would of preferred a bayonet fit top cap but at least the threading allows Steam Crave to show off how silky smooth the threading is!

You get loads included and as always it's very well presented but I always say any rebuildable should come with everything needed to do at least one build yet there is no cotton included. Yes a very small thing and many will say but everyone has cotton but they would be factually wrong because someone always has a very first rebuildable and if that happens to be this then they eagerly take it out it's box to find they need to order some cotton before they can even use it, just throw a bit of cotton in Steam Crave! I have tried both deserts and fruits and the flavour is quite outstanding!!!! My final pros is the fact the airflow pins can be swapped out on the fly which many will like!

Because I have been experiencing over-saturation (on the cusp of flooding) after filling then for me this would benefit from juice flow control but apart from that performance wise this is right up there with the best MTL RTA's I have used!

Silky smooth threading
Very well presented
3.5ml Capacity
Included Airflow pins for adjustability
Airflow pins can be swapped on the fly

Quite tight MTL right up to a RDL draw!
Airflow super smooth
Tried both desserts and fruits, flavour excellent

Cons

Get oversaturation after filling (soon clears)
For above reason would benefit from JFC

VAPORESSO TARGET 100 KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Once again I say hello and welcome back for another review. Todays review is on 1 of a series of 3 new Target kits from Vaporesso, the Target 80 is the baby brother of the 3 having a built in 3000mAh battery and the Target 200 is a dual 18650 device that I reviewed already, and that leaves the Target 100 that is a single 21700 or 18650 when using the included adaptor with maximum wattage output of 100 watts using either type of battery. All three in the series use the new iTANK with new GTI coils that really perform well. Lets have a look at the features of this kit before my review later on.

UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS

One thing that Vaporsesso usually does with their kits is make the first impression of the device look great and they continued with the Target 100 Kit, the device, tank with a protective shipping cover ( not shown ) incidentally Target 100 uses straight glass instead of the bubble glass used on the Target 200 , spare straight glass tube with extra O-rings inside it, 2nd 0.4Ω mesh coil and the braided type-c charge cord all tucked in their own compartment within the box, all your paper documents are tucked in a nice cardboard envelope. The 18650 battery adaptor is pre-installed inside the device.

The first thing that I noticed was the fabric on the device that is hard to describe, it's a braided fabric that has a comfortable feel to it and wraps around to the back of the device on both sides to the middle portion where they are separated by a metal bar that runs from top to bottom with Vaporesso engraved on it. The 2nd thing that stood out to me was how compact it is, it's also very lightweight, and the 3rd thing I noticed was the 510 platform on top of the top plate, I really wish that Vaporesso would stop using this platform on devices for 2 reasons # 1 it limits the size of your atomizer to the size of the 510 platform , # 2 it detracts from the style on the device. A flush fit would have been a better choice to use, maybe the internals of the device prevented it from being a flush fit.

20220304_143128.jpg

Getting back to the fabric that wraps the device I have a hard time trying to describe it for you, it's soft but grippy because of the braids within, there is some cushion feel to it but very little. I was sent the gunmetal and Red color and really like the way both colors contrast with each other and pull together a winning look for the device. Vaporesso really did a fantastic on the attractive look of the Target 100, even the back of the device looks great with Vaporesso deep engraving on the metal bar that separates the fabric.

20220304_142306.jpg

The battery is loaded into the device via a bottom battery door that is very flimsy when the device has no battery inside but once a battery is installed it is rock solid, you actually push up a bit when closing the door then slide it shut for a secure closure. Axon chip as well as Target 100 is branded on the door.

20220304_143221.jpg

Battery polarity is only marked with a minus symbol on the door, no positive marking or symbol inside the battery tube, if using a 21700 battery pull the 18650 adaptor out of the tube before installing the battery.

iTANK

We now come to the new iTank that has a new coil lineup as well, 0.2Ω mesh, 0.4Ω mesh and coming soon 0.15Ω mesh and others. This is a 5ml tank with straight glass, I am glad that Vaporesso decided against using the bubble glass that's in the Target 200 kit , coils are a push & pull type with no flat spots that need to be lined up.

Vaporesso_iTank_Atomizer_Easy_to_replace.jpg

i-Tank-5ml-1.jpg

The iTank is a top fill tank that uses a swivel out top cap that is very secure when put back in place for vaping, it actually clicks into place when closed , I have not had any unwanted openings while it was in my pocket. If using a 100ml bottle to fill the tank you will have to remove the drip tip in order to get the bottle stem fully inside the self sealing fill membrane. You will notice a arrow underneath the Vaporesso name that is where the top cap needs to be pushed in to open for filling. Always prime your coil and let sit for 5 min before first vaping it. This is a very simple easy Sub-Tank with no mess or fuss. By the way this is a 510 drip tip and it's comfortable to use. The iTank has 3 airflow intake slots and that makes it very airy fully open but closing the slots halfway restricts the airflow to a very nice DL vape that's half as airy, closing down to a 1/4 gives a great RDL vape. Airflow is smooth at any setting that's used.

20220304_144549.jpg

The iTaste Tank ships with the GTI 0.2Ω mesh coil that's rated for 60-75 watts pre-installed, the 2nd GTI coil is a 0.4Ω mesh rated for 50-60 watts. I will say that the mod is usually the star of the show with kits but this iTank is really very good and the GTI coils perform great giving great flavor with thick clouds of vapor also.

As many of you know I like a warmer vape and the 0.2 is more my speed but using the 0.4 was a treat as well, I must be gravitating to liking a cooler vape as well as my normal warm one because I really enjoy both coils.

20220304_145646.jpg

The Target 100 device has no settings for TC use but does have many power modes to choose from and they are Vaporesso's F(t) mode, PUL - pulse mode, VW- variable wattage, Bypass, in the DIY section of the second sub-menu there is a further way to tweek VW with 3 more choices of Soft, Normal or Hard setting for wattage mode. There is a Smart setting as well.

There are pre-set display screen colors for different power modes when activated. Power mode colors are listed below, the smart feature when activated will appear above ohms. The display screen is very bright and vivid with easy to read fonts, the wattage font is very large but I would have liked it shrunk down a bit while increasing the size of the other fonts.

POWER MODE COLORS

* F(t) - Green

* Pulse - Red

* Wattage - ( Soft ) - Red
* Wattage - ( Normal ) - Blue
* Wattage - ( Hard ) - Red

USING THE VAPORESSO 200 KIT

First thing that I want to mention is the compact size of this device, I am in the construction industry and started using a single 18650 mod from another manufacturer that I reviewed a few years back that was built to be abused and take a beating, I wont mention the device or manufacturer but I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about, when I took the Target 100 out of the box and set it down on my desk the mod I just mentioned was next to it and the Target 100 with a 21700 battery is actually smaller in size.

I really like the looks of the device that was sent to me with the Red and Grey contrasting colors coming together nicely, I really like the deep engraving down the back of the device, it gives it a bold look.

After my first look over I set the device down on the desk and heard something that clang like it wasn't closed completely, the noise came from the battery door. With no battery inside the device the door has a lot of play to it and that worried me but it's like that for a reason, once a battery is installed you have to push up with the door to slide it over to latch shut, once the door is shut it's rock solid.

Vaporesso is using a braided fabric on the mod that is hard to describe, it's soft and grippy while feeling tough at the same time and it's water resistant according to Vaporesso.

I really like the Axon chip inside the device because of smooth power delivery, power mode choices and easy menu to navigate through. One thing I wish will be changed in the next mod is the size difference of the fonts, the wattage font should be scaled down and the other fonts scaled up, sometimes it's a little hard to see the smaller fonts with aging eyes.

Having reviewed many Vaporesso devices I am familiar with their F(t) mode and really like it and I can taste a difference using it over wattage mode, some people can't tell a difference but I can and prefer it over straight wattage mode.

There are 5 different power modes to choose from but no TC modes, I know some people do use TC but I don't know of any personally.

I really hope that Vaporesso stops using the raised 510 platform on any new devices because it's really the only thing that I dislike with the device.

The new iTank is a very nice tank with a 5ml capacity with the straight glass, as far as the new GTI coils goes I think they are great coils and definite winners in my book, both have performed very well giving a saturated vape with a abundance of vapor.

I think Vaporesso did a fantastic job with both the device and tank. Battery management is really good as well especially when using the 0.4Ω coil.

I would like to thank Sue and Healthcabin for providing the Target 200 kit for the purpose of my review and I hope all your questions were answered concerning the Target 100 Kit.

THANK YOU

Wotofo Disposables Review: Ultra and Mega!

Wotofo Disposables Part Deux: The Ultra and Mega!

Hello again, vaping community! I am finally back with another review for the ECF community. This time, we will be having a look at Wotofo’s newest disposable devices on the market: the Ultra and Mega. These were kindly sent to me for review by Wotofo (thank you, Cara!).

If you guys have had the chance to read my previous review on ECF, and that so happened to be about Wotofo disposables too (the Airy, Wafer, Mini +), I had described some introductions on Wotofo there. I also mentioned some considerations about disposable e-cigarettes, and the controversy in the community about their rise and use. Saying all that, it looks like Wotofo are really putting their mark in the now highly-congested but very lucrative disposables market. Indeed, at least to me, it seems like they had recently released far more disposable products than their usual fare of atomisers and mods. Perhaps it is driven by demand, or maybe atomisers/mods take longer to design and implement than disposables. But whatever the reason is, these disposables are here now and will be in the market soon enough.

As before, my review will be from my own experience of using these devices in everyday life as a regular vaper.

Wotofo Ultra

Quick specs:

- 24.6 x 112.8 mm. Yep, it’s tall and chunky!

- 550 mAh battery

- Made from food-grade PC

- Having a 1.4 ohms mesh coil

- 8.5mL e-liquid volume and claims to have an up to 3000 puff-life.

- Rechargeable via a micro-USB port.

upload_2022-3-13_16-59-5.png

The Ultra is a pen-like (more like a fat pen) disposable vape made mostly of plastic. In keeping with other Wotofo devices, this has big and bold branding printed on it, although it does become a little minimal around the device which was a nice change to see.

It’s a typical disposable that works on auto-draw. What sets it apart from most disposables in the market is that it is rechargeable, and thus can afford to carry so much e-liquid inside. It is very light and pocketable though, owing to the materials used.

The auto-draw is very responsive, and its duckbill-type mouthpiece is comfortable enough. The draw is a medium MTL to me though, with the air coming from the bottom via a hole beside the concealed white LED indicator light that lights up when charging and when the device is in use. I do feel that Wotofo missed a trick here in not including an adjustable airflow, even a basic slider type. As it stands, I could not get a tight MTL, and this should certainly be a consideration for smokers who would like to use this device to simulate a cigarette to avoid it falling short of expectations.
upload_2022-3-13_16-59-30.png

Another point to note is the use of a micro-USB port as opposed to USB-C. Devices that have come out in the last couple of years have started to incorporate USB-C ports for its obvious advantages. And so I’m a little puzzled as to why Wotofo stuck with a (retro) micro-USB port for this device, especially so because the devices do not come with their own charging cable.

The Ultra comes in a variety of flavours, and I was sent these flavours: Grape Ice, Mango Peach Pineapple Ice, Blueberry Raspberry Ice, Sour Apple, and Pineapple Coconut. As with most disposables I have sampled/reviewed, all of the flavours have varying degrees of cooling in them. As I mentioned in my previous review, I am not a fan at all of ice or menthol vapes, but the flavours of the Ultra are very well done in that the cooling doesn’t flood my mouth when vaping. To further elevate the vape experience though, I wished that the draw was warmer. The Ultra can definitely afford to because it has a rechargeable battery. Currently, the draw is rather tepid: ideal in the summer but will feel really cold in the winter because of the “ice” in the e-liquid. Let’s put it that way.

upload_2022-3-13_16-59-52.png

Did it last the advertised 3000 puffs though? Well, at the time of this review, I have not managed to empty or exhaust any of the Ultra flavours sent to me. So, it is definitely lasting a fair while, and I think it will indeed last at or close to the advertised number because of the Ultra’s rechargeable nature.

From a low power state, it takes about an hour or so to charge which is pretty good. All in all, it’s a simple device to use and get on with. Flavour and (relative) cloud production is really nice owing to the use of mesh coils.

Wotofo Mega

Quick specs:

- 20 x 105 mm in dimensions. This one is sort of short and fat.

- A whopping 980 mAh of battery.

- Made from SS304 and food-grade PC

- Having a 1.6 ohms wire coil

- 5mL e-liquid volume and claims to have a 1500 puff-life.

upload_2022-3-13_17-0-17.png

The Mega is another pen-style disposable device. In contrast to the Ultra, the Mega is lathered in branding and product information all printed throughout the circumference of the device. I did wish it was a little understated than this, but I know better as this is a Wotofo device!

It has a round drip tip that narrows in the middle, which is my preference as far as MTL devices are concerned. Although it holds less e-liquid, the Mega is actually slightly heavier than the Ultra, and that is likely because it has almost twice the battery capacity. It needs this capacity to be able to use up the 5mL of e-liquid it comes loaded with.

upload_2022-3-13_17-0-38.png

This one is a classic open and use disposable: there is no ability to recharge it and no feature to be able to customise draw either. Speaking of draw, it is almost the same at the Ultra’s as a medium MTL. So, as mentioned earlier, this should be a consideration for those wanting that tight MTL to simulate the smoking experience. I suggest for Wotofo to consider adding a simple airflow control option on the Mega so that the user can tailor the draw to their desire.

And like the Ultra, the draw is also not warm- so I have the same suggestion for Wotofo here to make the draw warmer. However, I am not quite sure if that will be practical because increasing the warmth also increases the demand on the non-rechargeable battery. That might mean not being able to use up all of the pre-loaded e-liquid in the device. But, maybe making the draw tighter via adding an airflow control feature might make the draw a tiny bit warmer.

It also comes in a wide selection of flavours, and I was sent the Mint, Strawberry Ice Cream, Strawberry Banana Ice, Mango Peach Pineapple Ice, and Watermelon Ice. All of these flavours went down very well with me, making my vaping experience enjoyable. Cloud production was OK, and was about what I expected from a low wattage device using wire coils.

As for puff-life, it had indeed lasted me a relatively long time. Was it close to the advertised 1500 puffs? I’d say so, although I have a feeling that the battery may go first before the all of the e-liquid is used up.
upload_2022-3-13_17-1-1.png

Final Thoughts:

I know I mentioned a few “wishes” on these disposables, but overall, my experience of using these Wotofo disposables has been a treat! As a vaper for years, I know the kind of vape I enjoy and what needs to be changed to achieve that, hence the wish list peppered throughout my review. But for a smoker that is curious about vaping or those wanting to try it, these are certainly good devices to consider in making that transition. The flavours are really well done and punchy, enough to satisfy cravings.

These will certainly stay in my rotation as back-up devices in the car or when I need a device in a pinch!

My sincerest thanks again to Wotofo for allowing me to review these products!

Rayon wick : which size do I need?

So I’ve read some of the discussions about rayon wicking and I wanna try it. On Fasttech they have different diameters of braided wick, is that what I should order?
I usually build 2.5mm coils, is 2mm rayon the ideal size? Also, why is it braided?

Confused about shipping charges for e-juice

Ordering on the internet for ready made e-juice certainly has gotten expensive just lately. It seems that the shipping costs have just about tripled to get the juice to your door from an on-line vendor.

I have a couple of questions maybe some of you folks that understand the system can answer:

1. I understand that USPS, UPS and FedEx cannot ship vape related materials (to include ready-made juice) anymore to US residential addresses ... Well, when you order juice now, who is providing the shipping and delivering it to the door ?

2. As I mentioned above, it seems like the shipping cost has pretty much tripled ... is that because some shipper other than USPS, UPS or FedEx is charging triple what USPS, UPS and FedEx used to charge for shipping ?

Note: It was not very long ago that I ordered and had delivered to my house (here in Florida) a 1 liter bottle of 100mg unflavored nicotine base. I didn't have to sign for it and it was delivered right to my mailbox by USPS.

I am very confused as to all of this ... Can anyone here tell me how ready-made juice is now being shipped once I pay triple shipping charges to some on-line vape company ?

Thanks ...
