Hello and welcome back for today's review of another Pod device that uses a different wicking material for the coil in their pod ( SEAWEED FIBER COTTON ). This is a simple device that has auto-draw only for it's firing method, with no buttons or display screen either. UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS


The Cora Mini ships in a standard box with a form fitted plastic tray inside that has the Cora Mini, sealed Pod, and Type-C charge cord laying in their designated spots with the user manual and warranty card laying on top.

At first glance I noticed some texture on the devices lower potion that resembles a alligator grain, it's lightly done but looks very nice. The Cora Mini is very sleek having only a auto-draw method of firing the device and no adjustment buttons as well, there is a small light at the bottom portion that illuminates when vaping or charging is performed.








I started charging the devices and noticed the charging light shut down only after about 3-5 minutes meaning it was fully charged before shipping, the Cora Mini has the type-c charge port on the bottom of the device, because the Cora Mini is so thin standing upright is not recommended because it's easily knocked over. All edges are rounded off for a very comfortable feeling while holding.







The pod installs as most do by placing the pod inside the top of the device only the Cora Mini doesn't use magnets to lock the pod into place but rather 4 tiny clips ( 2 on each side ) of the pod located at the bottom of the pod under the Vozol name, the pod clicks into place and is securely held in without worry of it coming off inside a pocket.





The 2ml pod that ships with each device is 1.0Ω and has 2 gold contacts that connect to the 2 gold contacts inside the Cora Mini device as most pods do, you will notice a tiny cutout on 1 side of the pod next to 1 of the gold contacts, that's how airflow gets to the coil inside the pod through the 2 rectangle shaped holes between the contacts. The auto-draw nozzle is between the 2 contact pins inside the Cora Mini. The Cora Mini give you 2 option for airflow control ( MTL - RDL ), if you install the pod with the cutout facing away from the single airflow hole on the mod the vape becomes a little bit tighter but it's not that noticeable, it is a smooth vape though.





The Cora Mini device uses a single airflow inlet hole to feed air into the device, it's small and about the same size as most pods that use this method of bringing air into the device.







Filling the Cora Mini pod is done with a side fill method, the fill hole plug pops open easily without having to dig for the end of it, the fill port is of good size and most if not all bottle tips will fit, the pod fills quickly and is mess free. The pod isn't clear but with it's light tinting, juice inside it is visible in almost any light.

USING THE CORA MINI


The first thing that I want to address is the battery, other devices of the similar size have twice the capacity but may be slightly thicker and I mean slightly, that's a con for me. The Cora Mini is fine for some errand running and will last you a few hours but not give you any warning of it being low on power, when it it's depleted of power it stops without warning except the 10 flashes of light. There should be a battery meter of some sort, be it light flashes or light colors letting you know it's getting low on battery power.

The second thing that's a big con for me is it ships with only 1 pod included in the package contents, things happen during production and if a bad pod is in the package you are dead in the water because you only have that 1 pod. ( there should be 2 included )

I don't know if it's the Seaweed Cotton that's used but the flavor is decent at best, I used my regular juice I vape everyday in testing both devices and know the flavor very well as I've been using it for the last 3 years and the flavor was very muted, I really think that if regular cotton was used in the coil the flavor would be much better. Vozol claims the Seaweed Cotton is 20 times more absorbent than regular cotton but in my opinion it has lack luster flavor and it's muted in the flavor department.

The auto-draw is one of the best I've tried for a device of this type, it's smooth and constant feed never stopped in mid vape and performed very well, turning the pod 180° did change the airflow but it was a very slight change and almost unnoticeable.

These are my findings on the Vozol Cora Mini, if the battery issue of no warning or indication of it getting weak is resolved and the Seaweed Cotton is replaced with regular cotton I think the Cora Mini would be a nice Pod device, also 2 pods need to be included not just 1.

Hi, got a Vaporesso XROS2 today. I have the mini and like the pod. But the XROS2 requires that I click it five times quickly to turn it on before it will work. Is this intentional? As long as I hit it every few seconds it is fine. But if I set it down a few minutes later it has shut off. Didn’t see anything in the documentation that came with it.

The TimesVape Honor RDA was released at the back end of 2021 to not much marketing on TimesVape's part which I found strange. What's even stranger is the deck configuration.

I have been out of vaping for a few years and just bought the boro device listed above. I was used to building my coils using kanthal. Now, I see so much has changed. What is the wire of choice along with cotton? I see a lot of pre made coils and am just curious as to what I should do. What ohm coils should I be using with this device, it's a 70W max. Any recommendations for prebuilt wire spools?
Websites? Better than coilogy brands, etc

Hello and welcome to yet another review. This time I’ll be taking a look at the new Hellvape Fat Rabbit Solo RTA. I purchased and very much liked the original dual coil Fat Rabbit RTA so was rather excited to receive the new Solo single coil rta for this review. The Solo has a 25mm postless single coil base that actually has four grub screws. This may lead some to try to put dual coils in it but I wouldn’t. Just like the original it has both side and bottom airflow available so you can use just one type or both at the same time to try to get the best flavor production for your needs. I found with the original that I liked the bottom airflow with the side closed. I’ll have to see if that holds true with this one.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Solo was no surprise when it arrived in the all too familiar red box. On the front is the Hellvape name along with a sketch of the Solo and the Fat Rabbit name near the bottom. The back side shows the features of the Solo as well as the package contents. You may notice as I did that in one of the promotional pictures above, the word quarter was misspelled as quater. This is also the case in the package that I received as you can see on the back where the features are listed. I will let the Hellvape rep know about this. I’m sure what I received was a review sample and will be corrected in the future.





The Solo uses an 810 drip tip and can be easily changed with your favorite drip tip. I tried it with the included one but like a little longer tip so went ahead and changed mine. The included drip tip has a different type of internal design to try to help to prevent condensation build up.





You may get tired of hearing this but I always clean a new tank and recommend that you do the same. I really like tanks like the Solo that come completely apart and make it easier to clean and dry. It has become reflex for me that when I receive a new tank I take it apart, clean it, and if one is included I install the bubble glass so I have the extra liquid capacity that it allows. I do have to say though that after installing the bubble glass on the Solo that I kind of like the looks of it better with the straight glass and may switch back to that later. The Solo came apart very easily which I appreciate. I have had some tanks where you almost have to break the glass to take off the one installed at the factory.

The tank is made up of six individual parts. The drip tip, top cap, chamber, glass, side airflow control ring, and base with bottom airflow control. The top cap has a nice knurled texture to it to make it easy to grip for installing or removing while the fill port openings are very large and you should be able to fill with just about any type of bottle. The side airflow control ring has four individual holes on each side for a total of eight while the base has a slotted airflow opening on each side. I ended up liking it with the bottom airflow open about ¼ while having just a portion of one hole open on the top using the included Ni80 coil. I understand this is a single coil rta but it might have been nice if they had included a second coil. However, perhaps they don’t want people trying to stuff two coils into the 25mm deck area.





The deck of the Solo is postless and has four grub screws although it is intended for single coil use. Why? I’m not sure but thinking ahead, if you had one screw or threads in the deck get messed up then you could switch to the opposite screws to install your coil. The screws used require a flat head screwdriver which is included in the package. I like that the screw openings in the deck are deep enough that you can unscrew the screws enough to fit the coil legs in the opening without bringing the screws too far out to where you don’t have the hole to guide the screwdriver. This might sound silly but some folks don’t have the best vision and this allows you to tighten the screws down without actually having to see the screw head. Just put the screwdriver into the opening and lightly turn the screwdriver until it catches the slot in the screw head and then apply pressure and tighten the screw on the coil. I’ve had just a couple other tanks that I’ve tested that have had this feature whether intended or not. There are a couple extra grub screws included in the accessory bag if you happen to lose one. I have to admit that I’ve had that happen before but not on this tank. The base on this tank just takes a ¼ turn to remove it just like the top cap does. Mine is a little tight to remove so have to wiggle it back and forth a little.





Ok, now onto installing a coil and wick in the Solo. There is just a single coil and cotton thread included in the package. However, the wick included is long enough to get a couple wicks out of if you pull the wick almost all the way through before cutting it leaving the plastic ring on the end. Not a big deal but why not get two wicks out of it if you can. The included coil is an Ni80 coil rated at .37 ohms. I’m quite used to running coils in this range since there is a brand of coils that I like that come in .35 and .40. I had always been a fan of 316 SS coils but the more I use these Ni80 coils the more I like them. I decided to use the included coil measuring tool to cut the coil legs to 5mm. This type of deck is very easy to install, tighten, and straighten the coil. I did a few short pulses on the coil to make sure it was heating evenly and installed the wick once the coil was cool. On my first build, I thinned the cotton tails out quite a bit. I found out while using it that I thinned too much. Once I tried chain vaping it, I would get a little gurgling indicating that the deck was flooding and when I laid the tank on its side then some liquid leaked out. After this I cleaned the tank and installed a new wick. This time I didn’t comb out one side and just gave the other side a light fluff. The cotton was really packed into the liquid wells and I wondered if I’d get dry hits. It hasn’t happened yet. Even with the cotton that tight I can still chain vape without getting a dry hit. However, I did feel like the flavor was better with a little less cotton than my second attempt.



The bottom of the base of course has a gold plated center pin. Also on the base is the Hellvape and Fat Rabbit Solo name along with what I believe is a serial number.


FINAL THOUGHTS:

I know there are a lot of people that like the dual coil Fat Rabbit rta of which I am included and am sure the first question I’ll receive is “ is the flavor with the solo as good as the original dual coil?”. I have to say that the answer is kinda. The flavor is really good on this rta but of course the dual coil version provides a more dense vapor and a little bit better.

Just like the original, the Solo uses a quarter turn to remove not only the top cap but also the base. I was actually used to this from my experience using the original Fat Rabbit rta. The deck is postless and very easy to build on. I cut my coil legs at 5.5mm but may try a little higher next time just to see if it affects the flavor. I feel like this rta has more airflow available than I could ever use. The combination of top airflow and bottom airflow gives the user a lot of options to tweak the airflow to their liking. I found that I got better flavor when using bottom airflow with just a tiny bit of the first hole open on top.

So, would I recommend the Hellvape Fat Rabbit Solo RTA? I would if you’re looking for an easy to build single coil rta with lots of airflow options, really good flavor, and has enough room to put some really good sized coils in if that’s your thing. Vaporesso always delivers their devices with a nice presentation of which even though this is a simple Pod Device Vaporesso still packages it very nicely with a slide out within the shipping box and the Xros Mini with the 0.8Ω mesh pod pre-installed tucked in it's cutout with your extra pod 1.2Ω, lanyard chain, type-c charge cord, user manual and warranty card in a built in lift up box below it.

Picking up the device I noticed first off it's a lightweight making it capable of shirt pocket carry. The 2nd thing I noticed about the device was there are no buttons or display screen so no adjustment for watts or volts and no fire button making it a auto-draw only device.

Very few auto-draw only devices actually perform well but past Xros devices that I've reviewed did a great job with auto-draw and the airflow control on the Nano is the same style that's used on the Xros 2, this is a fully adjustable airflow control that has a pretty good range of tight to loose

Because the Nano is so small Vaporesso includes a lanyard connection as well as a lanyard for those that like to hang around their neck.




The lanyard attachment is in the usual spot on the device that most pod devices that offer this option is, it's very small and is hardly noticeable.





Before you can use the device a protective sticker that Vaporesso puts on the bottom of the pod that's pre-installed must be removed, I don't know why this sticker is on it because it's a auto-draw only device, their production line probably automatically puts it on the pods because these pods are compatible with the entire Xros line of devices and some of them have manual button activation.




Pods connect magnetically to the device using 2 rectangle shaped magnets on the outside of the contact and contact pins, the connection is strong as it is on other Xros pods. In the center of the recess of the device the auto-draw airflow tube can be seen.





Filling the pod is done by snapping the mouthpiece cover off and filling through the Red fill port, I really like this filling method because the fill port acts like a one way valve allowing juice to enter but sealing back up preventing it from escaping out and being top fill allows you to fill without having to remove the pod from the device.







The Xros Nano uses a type-c charge port that is located on the bottom of the device, normally this bothers me because I like my devices to be in the standing up position when charging but the Nano is so small and doesn't takes up a bunch of space I'm fine with it's location being on the bottom.











The side opposite of the lanyard connection is where the single tiny airflow inlet hole is located up toward the top of the device, in the time of using it I never inadvertently covered the airflow hole being as high as it is. Closing the hole with my finger completely shut the airflow which tells me it's sealed very well.

One half of the Nano is smooth to the touch while the other side having diagonal lines give a textured feel and help to keep a grip on it, the split look of being smooth and textured is one I like. You probably wont even notice it but I like the little vapor symbol etched on the side of the pod.

If you own a Xros 2 you will see the same airflow control on the Nano as well, it's in a waterdrop shape or as I call it a lightbulb. Auto-draw works very well and you can get a pretty tight MTL draw with the airflow shut all the way, fully open is a semi loose draw, more on the tighter side than loose, you can get a RDL vape fully open but it's way to restricted. Vaporesso uses a pulse mode with the Axon chip inside, you can feel the pulse and sometimes hear it as well.








Branding has been kept to a minimum have only 1 location on the device with the Vaporesso name, under the Vaporesso name are 4 tiny LED lights that act as a battery meter, they are tiny but very bright and also light with each vape you take as well as when charging.

USING THE VAPORESSO XROSS NANO




In the time I've been using the Xros Nano the device performed just as it was intended to perform, I had no failure to fire or leaking or even seeping of a drop of juice. The flavor was good on both pods but my preferred one was the 0.8Ω mesh.

Airflow worked as I expected it to because it's the same as on the Xros 2 as the Xross Nano is almost the same device but in a different body shape with some features left out for a more simplistic device.

It doesn't have a fire button being only auto-draw but the auto-draw works so well on it that I don't mind and I'm a button guy.

When the pulsing is heard sometimes it can be annoying, I found the tighter the airflow is the more it can be heard, all I want to hear is airflow.

Being as lightweight and tiny as it is a shirt pocket carry works fine and you almost forget it's there.

This may not have all the same features of the Xros 2 but having a fully adjustable airflow control is a big one and a auto-draw feature that works very well especially because it it's the only option on the device.

With a 1000mAh internal battery and being a pulse styled device you should get a full day or close to a day on a single charge depending on your vaping consumption.

I think Vaporesso achieved what they wanted with the Xros Nano, if you liked the Xros 2 chances are your going to like the Xros Nano. I would like to thank Milo and Vaporesso for providing the Xros Nano for the purpose of this review.

I'd like some advice here if possible. 1st: I'm not 100% certain that I've used the correct acronym's but I believe I have.

I'm looking for a rebuild-able tank (coils) and mod that can do salt NICs. I'm currently using 35mg and I do like a good bit of air. My current vape setups are a JUUL, and a Vaporesso XCROS with the 1.2Ω pods. I do not like the lower ohm pods, they hit too hard. I'd like something more comparable to this that's rebuild-able with simple coils. I dislike disposable items in general, and getting the pods isn't super easy now, and based on what I've read it will probably only get more difficult.

As a point of reference on the airflow, I currently vape the XROS with maximum airflow.

I really don't like carrying giant mods and tanks. I like the form factor of the JUUL and the XROS, so a smaller mod and a 2-2.5ml tank is probably more my style.

I'm looking at the Innokin Ares 2 LE, but I don't know how well this works for DTL and if it provides enough air.

With is much as I was spending on cigarettes, cost isn't a huge issue.

Background:
I've tried vapes several times. My first setup in 2010 was Joye 510 ecigs that I refilled with and had to use the lipton pyramid teabags to hold some johnson creek juice. I gave up on these and went back to smoking. A few years later mod with an aspire nautilus tank (I think) with the replaceable atomizers.

Historically I'd typically vape 18mg (sometimes 24mg) freebase nicotine juices I'd buy at the local vape shop, and some 18mg from Johnson creek. I never could really satisfy the nicotine cravings, and it physically hurt to vape. I coughed more with these setups than I did smoking, my chest hurt, etc.

I'd given up completely on the idea of vaping, but I recently saw a 'documentary (Broken: Big Vape [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11348920/]), and it actually introduced me to nic salts and convinced me to try them. I bought a JUUL, and for the first time vaping worked for me. No pain, no nicotine withdrawals, and I'm not constantly having to vape.

Apparently I hit all this again at the wrong time (PACT/etc), so if I can stick with this I'd like something I can keep running for a very long time. I think I'll probably carry the vaporesso xros for as long as I can get pods, and use the mod/tank at home and work. I'm also looking at DIY juice, which always interested me anyway...
