Both devices are identical to each other in appearance but that's where the similarities end as these are 2 completely different devices with one having fast charging capabilities and another feature over the other version, so lets get to know both devices a little more in detail before my review of each one.

UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS


You will have to disregard the packaging because it's sample packaging for reviewers, your retail packaging will be different. Inside were both the Aegis 1FC and Aegis 1 with a type- c charging cable, user manual and second pod. Unlike some devices the coil can't be changed in both devices but rather the pods have to be changed when it's lifespan is over.

Both devices are attractive with the Aegis 1FC version looking like Denim jeans and the Black Aegis 1 version having the appearance of a leather wrap.

The Black Aegis 1 version does feel like a leather wrap while the Denim Aegis 1FC felt like wax to me when I first started to use it, it does not feel like that anymore though after using it for some time. Weight is a very light 70 grams.

Starting at the top we have the pod itself which is attached using magnets as most pods do, the pods as well as the mouthpieces can only go on one way.

2 coil contacts on the pod connect with 2 spring loaded pins inside the device, both of these devices can be fired by using auto-draw or manual button press.

The vape is the same no matter what method you choose to use. Both devices will come with 2 pods, a 0.8Ω pod that is rated for 12-16 watts and a 1.2Ω pod that is rated for 8-12Ω.

One thing I need to point out right away is that the pod as well as the mouthpiece go on one way only, the pod will simply attach to the device without any effort, the mouthpiece on the other hand must be securely attached or you will get some juice in your mouth and possible leaking, make sure you hear the click when installing the mouthpiece.

Some information that is stated on the box and a small pamphlet that was included with the kit, disregard the last sentence of the pamphlet, what they meant to say was auto-draw.

Getting back to the pod as was mentioned earlier this is a top fill pod that is very easy to do, simply tilt the mouthpiece to the side that's slanted downward and the mouthpiece will pop off exposing the large filling hole on one side and the smaller air bleeder hole on the other side, the air bleeder will allow air to escape when filling preventing a mess from happening. Your airflow intake hole is in the center next to the #3.

Both devices use type -c charging that is located on the bottom of the device, normally that would irk me but with both of these devices being so thin I prefer to lay them on their side rather than chance knocking them over, I know there Aegis tough but I like to keep my devices in the best pristine condition as possible so the bottom charge spot is fine with me.

Both of the pods sent to me are attractive with the denim standing out more, the texture of the denim felt like wax for the first few days of testing but that wax feel is now gone

The devices look exactly the same and vape exactly the same, the measurements are exact, the design is exact, the juice viewing window is exact, the front face is exact except for the LED lights.

On the Aegis 1FC you have 3 LED lights where as on the Aegis 1 you only have 1 LED light. Why Geekvape did this baffles me. I could care less about the amount of lights on a device, all I care about is function and performance.

Both of these devices have constant power output but one is a fast charge device that takes about 15 minutes to charge at 2a and houses a 550mAh internal battery while the regular Aegis 1 charges at 1a but has a 780mAH internal battery, it takes about 30-40 minutes to charge.

The top Silver Denim Aegis 1 FC has 3 LED lights while the Black Aegis 1 has only 1 LED. Both will show power levels as well as battery depletion by the color of the LED but the Aegis FC will drop lights as well as color when the battery begins to deplete.

There is no real display screen or menu on either Aegis devices.

USING BOTH DEVICES


I have to say that both devices performed great and although the fast charging of the FC version was great the extra 10 or 20 minutes did not matter to me when it was time to charge the Aegis 1. Both devices support vape while charging. Construction of both feel strong and solid but they are in the Aegis line so that comes as no surprise.

Both of the pods put out good flavor with the 0.8Ω pod being slightly warmer than the 1.2Ω.
Because there is no airflow selector on either device you get what you get and in my opinion both are a loose MTL vape.

The auto-draw feature works well enough but you do need to use a strong inhale or the auto-draw will stop in mid draw, I'm a button guy myself so I prefer it over the auto-draw anyway, there is only 1 button ( fire/power ) and it sits flush on the device protruding just enough to feel it without having to look for it.

You are able to view the juice in the clear pod through the small window on the side of the pod as well as the small area around the pods connection to the device but only when it's very bright indoors or out.

The mouthpiece works well and is very comfortable to use just remember to listen for the click when reinstalling it on the pod or you will get some unwanted juice in your mouth and possible leaking of juice.

Both devices have remained dry with no leaking or seepage in the couple of weeks I've been testing them. I really like the top fill method that's used on both devices but a word of cation when filling, you have to remember these pods are only 2ml so when filling go slow so no juice escapes through the small air bleeder hole, if you use to much force when fill juice will escape through it so fill slowly and your good to go.

Both devices are so simple and easy to use not even using a display screen only colored LED lights that tell you your power levels and battery strength.

In testing I found very slight differences in the 3 different power levels although the highest setting ( GREEN ) on both pods worked best for me.

When it comes down to you choosing which one works best for you you have to decide if the battery with a higher mAh on the Aegis 1 is more important to you than the fast charging feature on the Aegis 1FC, as I said before both perform exactly the same ( GREAT ).

Geekvape also uses the Aegis name for these new One and 1FC devices, these are two new handy Pods, with a simple pen-like form factor, but with a solid body made of zinc alloy resistant to shocks, scratches and drops. On both there are valuable decorative inserts. I received the Blue Silver version of 1FC and the Full Black version of ONE for this test.

I'm a long time top airflow kinda guy.

I held that the Zeus X was the finest example of the breed.

I got a shipment of two OXVA Arbiter tanks. My view immediately changed.

From the build quality to the look, to the size, and finally the vape. It all combines to be the best tank I've used.

Coiling is dead easy with the nice slanted deck. You don't need to cut your legs before inserting them.

Easier to fill with the larger ports and the 'gutter' all the way around the top of the tank. Keeps the juice inside instead of pooling up.

The airflow is better than on the Zeus X, smoother even with the flow shutdown halfway as I sometimes do.


In all, if your mod can hold it (I'm on Lost Vape Hyperion DNA 100 C), try one out.

Hey all. It's been a while. I quit vaping and smoking altogether some time ago, but I slipped back into smoking cigarettes, so I am returning to vaping. Unfortunately, I got rid of all of my old equipment, and between the new devices available and the new laws, the entire landscape of vaping has completely changed since I last saw. I feel like a total newbie.

Right now, I am using Njoy and Vuse devices from the gas station to get me started, but I was looking into maybe upgrading. My previous setup was an eLeaf iStick 30W with a Kanger EVOD tank. I built my own coils with Kanthal and Cotton Bacon at 1.6 ohms, and I would vape that at 8.0 watts. I was a tootle puffer, for sure. I mixed my own juice, and I got plenty of flavor and plentiful clouds.

Mixing juice these days has its own challenges, but I think I have that figured out as far as finding nicotine base. The issue is with the hardware. I could go to my old setup, but finding the devices and tanks are a bit difficult, so if anyone knows where to get it, let me know. Some places refuse to even ship to me. What's that about?

For now, I will be jailbreaking the Njoy and Vuse pods and refilling them. Are there better alternatives? I'd prefer not to rebuild coils for the time being, so what is a good system that has affordable replacement coils/pods that will be readily available for the near future? I will be carrying the device in my pocket, so smaller is preferred, and I would like an on/off feature.

I use Samsung 30Q but the price has nearly doubled since I last bought them. Can I swap them for Molicel P26As? I vape 0.5 ohms at 22 watts.

ok. I made a mistake. I ordered 64 oz 70PG instead of VG. I mean every one stopped listing PG first back in like 2015 or something. every one except for perfect vape apparently!

it's also 6 Nic, and I now know I need 3 nic. I don't like the throat hit of 6.

Ideas on how to get this closer to 3 or 4 Nic and 70 vg?

Sadly analogs the quickest nic I can get and I did sadly went that route. Now I'm back. Vaping again and that old smell is back again on my nose. Signs of sinusitis. I've been vaping since 2011, so I'm not a new vaper. I'm using RDA and Sub-Ohm vaping, and not so much in the pod vaping systems. If someone building a new RDA or RBA mechanical mod vape kit, I can help with the calculations. I'm looking forward to getting replies.

The A2 is the best pod system I've used.

Easy to fill, no leaking, charges quick, stellar flavour and the coils last.

The window is useless, needed to be on both sides. Sometimes its impossible snap off the mouthpiece to refill.

Not able to disable the firing button, which is very annoying, especially when your trying to snap off a new pod to fill. Its really easy to burn a dry coil.

Looking for someone that resides in the uk that would purchase a couple bottles of wholenic wta and send to me in the USA. Of course I would send you the money first for purchase and shipping.

Hello again. I’m back today with another review for a new Geekvape product. Actually it’s two products that are similar enough that I’m going to combine them into one review. These new products are the Aegis One and Aegis 1FC. I don’t know if you are aware but Geekvape is an official partner of the Paris Saint-Germain FC. I don’t follow soccer but am thinking this is a big deal for them. The One and 1FC are very similar in appearance and operate similarly but the difference lies in the battery capacities and how they can be charged. The One has a capacity of 780mah while the 1FC has a capacity of 550mah but can be charged in 15 minutes using a fast charger. As far as I know this is the third device that Geekvape has released that is fast charging.






WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

I am not exactly sure how these will be packaged for retail so will just show what I received for the review. I am assuming they will be sold separately although the review sample I received contained both pod devices and two pods of different resistance.


After writing the above statement, I discovered that the retail version will include one mod, two pods, charging cable and user manual.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the samples that I received was in the very nice reviewers sample. I’m pretty sure that this will not be the same for the retail packaging. Once the top is removed there is an orange flap that has a nice message on it from Geekvape. I lifted the flap and was impressed with the appearance of the 1FC and the Aegis One. Each was displayed nicely in a foam insert with the two included pods in the center.

As you can tell from the picture below, the silver with the denim look backing on it is the 1FC and the black one with the leather backing is the Aegis One.







The Aegis One and 1FC are the first pen style vape devices of the Aegis series. The body of the devices is made of zinc alloy to make it more resistant to shocks/drops and more scratch resistant.

The Geekvape name is stamped into one side of the devices which is pretty much it as far as branding on them. I do like them keeping with the Aegis design in having the padded backing whether it’s the blue denim or the black leather.

On what I would call the left side is the fire button. Both devices can be activated by pressing the fire button five times. Also both can be fired by either pressing the fire button or can be auto draw activated. T

There are three available power levels on either unit. The power level on either device is changed by pressing the fire button three times. The three levels are indicated as follows:

- High – Green: 3.5V

- Medium- Blue: 3.3V

- Low- Red: 3.1V



The fire button is on what I would call the left side if you are facing the skinny side with that has the LED or LEDs on it depending on whether you are using the One or 1FC.









The USB-C charging port is on the bottom of either mod so they cannot stand up while charging which is no big deal to me. The 1FC can be charged in 15 minutes which is a nice feature. The One will take longer if for no other reason than the increased battery capacity. The bragging point of the One is that it is good for two days use. I think that really depends on the person using it depending on length of draw and frequency of vaping by that person.

Both mods weigh in at 70g while the 1FC has a 550mah battery and the One has a 780mah battery. Both are rated at 5V/2A charging rate.



The pods included in the kit that I received are .8 ohm rated at 12-16 watts and 1.2 ohm rated at 8-12 watts. This of course depends on the battery level setting.

The pods are both clear to make it easy to see the liquid level and are also top fill by pushing off the mouthpiece which I greatly appreciate. To me a top fill pod is a very nice feature. The larger hole on one side is for filling while the smaller hole on the opposite side is a vent. Don’t put liquid in the center hole or you will flood the coil.

The pod only goes in one way as does the mouthpiece since it is angled down on one side. On the pod itself there is a rectangular protrusion on one side with three horizontal notches that faces the outside of the pod where the cut out is.

A word of warning, make sure the mouthpiece is snapped on completely or you will get a mouthful of liquid. When I first got the kit I made the mistake of not having the mouthpiece on all the way with the 1FC and it was not pleasant. No fault but my own. Just user error.











The pods use a special S type airway that makes smoother airflow and is supposed to increase throat hit. I can’t really say that I noticed the increase but the liquid I was using doesn’t really have a lot of throat hit.




FINAL THOUGHTS:

The design and build quality of the Geekvape Aegis One/1FC are fantastic in my opinion. They have a great hand feel and work well whether you use them with button activation or auto draw.

I felt like I got good battery life from both and what’s not to like about being able to charge the 1FC in 15 minutes. Since I received both for the review I tried the .8 ohm pod in the 1FC and the 1.2 ohm pod in the Aegis One. Both pods had good flavor production and generous vapor production. The flavor wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was good for a pod device. The draw on the 1.2 pod was a little tighter and better for a MTL experience while the .8 pod was a looser draw but I like an airy MTL so it was a good fit for me. I found the mouthpieces to be quite comfortable.

I do kind of wish that Geekvape had been able to incorporate an airflow control into these two mods to make them a little more versatile for different users. I had zero leaking or condensation during my time testing them. It seems like companies are getting better and better at eliminating leaking issues. I very much dislike leaking so greatly appreciate it when a device is designed so well that it doesn’t seep and there is little or no condensation.
