FREEMAX MARVOS 60 TRI-PROOF 60 WATT POD MOD KIT review by hittman

Hello again. If you follow my reviews then you might remember that a short time ago I reviewed the Freemax Marvos 80T kit. Today I’m here to discuss the Marvos 60 Watt Pod Mod kit. I wasn’t super crazy about the shape of the 80T and found it to be a little slippery. The 60 is a totally different design. The Marvos 60 is the first kit from Freemax with military tri-proof technology. It’s made of zinc alloy and liquid silicon rubber. The 60 uses the MS series coils that are compatible with the 60 as well as the 80T and are made using the FM COILTECH 4.0 technology and produce very good flavor. Also, the glass pod that I was sent for the 80T review can be used on the 60. The Marvos 60 is a DL/RDL pod mod. Let’s see what’s included and take a look at some pictures and I’ll give my opinion on it from my experience testing it.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Marvos 60 is basic. It’s not the usual two piece box that I see on most samples. The outer sleeve slides of and exposes the user manual, literature, and the mod with tank, charging cable and two coils.

I have to say that I very much like the appearance of the Marvos 60 and to me the hand feel is great. The rubberized coating makes the 60 very nice to hold. The Marvos 60 has three available modes which are Smart, Bypass, and Power mode.

On the front of the device is the Freemax name at the top followed by the square fire button that protrudes a little, the bright and clear display screen, and the + and – buttons under the screen. On the bottom is the USB-C charging port with a stiff rubberized plug that seals the port. On the left and right sides is the ridged rubber silicon that I like and makes the mod comfortable to hold. Also on each side is the airflow slot near the top of each side. On the back of the unit is the airflow control slider with a round knob that protrudes to make it easier to move. I like that this one has the slider airflow control instead of having to rotate the tank like some pod mods that I’ve tested lately. Also on the back is a rectangular plate with the word MARVOS in fairly large print and 60W in much smaller font. I kind of wish this either wasn’t there or was smaller. To me the branding is a little too much in your face. The bottom of the mod is rubberized which is nice so it doesn’t easily slide on a table. Of course on the top is the pod receptacle with a metal plate raised above the two gold contact pins. This has become a fairly common design among many pod mods.

The display on this mod is nice and bright and also fairly easy for my old eyes to read. The display shows the following information from top to bottom.

- Mode of operation and battery indicator

- Set wattage

- Voltage under load and coil resistance

- Puff counter

- Length of current puff

- Display color choices

The menu operation is as follows:

- Press the fire button five times to turn the device on or off

- Press the fire button three times to switch between Power, Smart, and Bypass

- Press the + and – buttons to lock the adjustment buttons

- Press the fire button and the – button to change the screen color between blue, yellow, green, red, or white

- Press the fire button and the + button to reset the puff counter

- Press the fire button, +, and – buttons to do a factory reset

The Marvos has a 2000mah internal battery and uses the Smart FM Chip 2.0 for fast firing of .001s.

Freemax-Marvos-60-W-Kit-MS-Platform.jpg

The pod included in the kit is plastic but there is a glass pod available for separate purchase. The pod looks very similar to many other pods that I’ve seen on this type of device. It has a 4.5ml capacity and it is slightly tinted but the liquid level is easily visible. One thing that is different from several others is that the drip tip is removable on this one. However, I found the tip very comfortable and the included tip is specially designed to avoid spit back. The fill port on this one is like most others where it is located on the bottom. I can’t tell you how tired I am of bottom fill pods. Also on the bottom of the pod is four magnets that hold the pod firmly in place. There has been no issue with the pod coming out accidentally and the magnets are plenty strong to allow you to pick up the entire unit by the pod.

The included pod as well as the glass pod uses the same MS series coils that the Marvos 80T used. The coils provide very good flavor. The two coils included in the kit were a .25 ohm coil rated at 40-60 watts and a .35 ohm coil rated at 30-40 watts. As usual, I ended up running both coils below the recommended wattage and they worked fine with no leaking whatsoever. I experienced very little condensation also. I preferred the .35 coil for my vaping style.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I think most would agree that if there’s one thing that Freemax does right, it’s flavor banger coils. These MS coils did not disappoint. The flavor produced by both coils was very good. I had zero leaking the entire time I used it with either coil so that is a definite plus in my book.

I really like the design and feel of the Marvos 60. From nice hand feel to a very bright and readable display, it’s a nice unit to use. The menu is fairly simplistic and the display shows quite a bit of information. I don’t really think the display color choices at the bottom of the screen was necessary but doesn’t hurt anything.

I did have two negatives on this device. When I use a mod or pod mod, I tend to rest my pointer finger against the pod or tank. I don’t know if what I received was a review sample or not but the opening on the mod is a little too big which allows the pod to move inside the opening. The second negative I had was that about two or three times with each coil, I got a shorted atomizer warning and the mod would not fire. I don’t know if this was caused by the coils included in the kit I used or not but I could rotate the coils slightly and it would then start to work again. I don’t know if anyone else experienced this so I am thinking it was a fluke.

I would like to thank Freemax and Jerry for sending the Marvos 60 watt pod mod for this review and as usual a big thanks to all the readers. Also as usual, below is a link to the Freemax website.

FREEMAX TRI - PROOF MARVOS 60 KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello again and welcome to today's review of the Marvos 60w Kit that was provided to me from Freemax for the purpose of this review. Last month I reviewed the Marvos T 80 Kit that had 3 power levels to choose from ( low, med, high ) but had no incremental adjustment for wattage or display screen like the Marvos 60w has, if you missed it I will leave a link below.
FREEMAX MARVOS T 80W KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322 . In my opinion as much as I liked the Marvos T I like the Marvos 60w even better and I'll cover why later on in the review but first get to know the new Marvos 60w Kit.

TOUGH FLAVOR PRODUCING DEVICE

Freemax_Marvos_60W_Kit_Tri_proof.jpg

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The Marvos 60w came packaged nicely in a slide out box with components sitting in their own spots, the device surprised me with it's lightweight because of it's military grade tri-proof category, you would think weight would be substantial but in my opinion it's very light for being in this category. All four sides are rounded off leaving no sharp edges that would make a uncomfortable grip and unlike some other devices out there that have this tough military rating the silicone rubber protecting it seems to catch lint and debris less, I've not had to wipe any away.

20210720_132459.jpg

The Marvos 60w uses the same pod that attaches magnetically that it's sibling the Marvos T uses as well as the optional glass pod that is sold separately. The 4 strong magnets attach to the metal base inside the device very securely. Centered in the device are 2 gold spring loaded contact pins that make contact with the coil.

20210720_133253.jpg

Freemax supplies 2 mesh coils in this kit , a 0.25Ω rated for 40w-60w and a 0.35Ω rated for 30w-40w, the mesh netting are the same on each coil with the 0.35Ω coil having a smaller bore diameter and giving a bit more restricted of a vape, the 0.25Ω is very airy vaped with the airflow fully open. I know it's of no concern for the vape but I really like the blue colored O-rings on the coils.

20210722_124114.jpg

The pod uses the bottom fill method and it's fill port hole is large enough for a 100ml bottle tip to fit in, having a 4.5ml capacity is plenty as this isn't a guzzler of juice, it's not a sipper but it's no guzzler either.

20210722_124603.jpg

I really like how well the device fits the hand ergonomically and it's sides from the 2 airflow slots down are ribbed silicone rubber giving it a grippy texture that wont slip from your hand, the top portion as well as the front display screen and back are zinc alloy. Branding has been kept to a minimum with MARVOS 60w in the back.

The 2 airflow slots located on both sides at the top are controlled using a lever located in the top back portion above MARVOS 60w branding. In it's fully open position or fully closed position the lever is almost flat to the device but as it's opened or closed it begins to protrude out causing a possible snagging issue while in a pocket. In the 9 days I've used the device I have not had that happen but want to point it out to you.

20210722_143147.jpg

20210720_133019 (1).jpg

The entire bottom of the device is encased in silicone rubber for protection and it also keeps it standing steady being non slip as well.

20210720_133415 (1).jpg

The front of the device is pretty straight forward having the power/fire button at the top under the Freemax name, below the button is the display screen with the up/down buttons being below it. The Marvos 60w's type-c charge port is at the very bottom and has a silicone rubber plug protecting it from water. There are no arrows on the plug to let the user know which way to unplug it, but there is a small cutout on the left side to get a fingernail in and pull up on unplugging it from the charging port.

20210722_124808.jpg

Now to discuss the beautiful bright and vibrant color display screen that gives you the choice of 5 colors, at the very bottom of the display screen are 5 dots of various colors that can be your background color in the display screen, colors are Blue, Yellow, Green, Red, and White.

There are 3 power modes in the Marvos 60w and they are Smart, Bypass and Power. In Smart mode the device will automatically recognize which Freemax coil has been installed in the pod and set the suitable wattage for the resistance of the coil that's installed.

The Bypass mode is basically using the battery's voltage and ohm's law, as the battery's strength is depleted less voltage will be applied to the coil being like a mechanical mod with safety features built in the device.

The Power mode is what were all familiar with and allows the user to set any wattage setting up to the maximum output of 60 watts without the safety features of the Smart mode. My favorite color is blue so of course blue is my background color choice, I don't use bypass on regulated devices and don't know of anyone that does so I excluded the bypass screenshot but here is the Smart mode and Power mode screen shots.

Display screen layout is as follows from left to right and top to bottom.

* POWER MODE BATTERY BAR

* WATTAGE LOCK/UNLOCK SYMBOL

* VOLTS OHMS

* PUFF COUNTER

* SECONDS OF LAST VAPE

* AVAILABLE DISPLAY BACKGROUND COLORS

20210725_143154.jpg

20210722_135841.jpg

Navigating the device is pretty simple and straight forward with just a few button combinations that I'll cover below.

* On/Off - 5 presses of the fire button

* Changing Power Modes - Once on 3 presses of the fire button

* Change of Background Colors - Press and hold fire button and down button simultaneously

* Clear Puff Counter - Press and hold the fire button and up button simultaneously

* Wattage Adjustment Lock/Unlock (key lock/unlock) - Press and hold the up and down buttons simultaneously

FINAL IMPRESSIONS

Whenever the name Freemax is mentioned everyone knows that their coils are probably the best in the industry for the amazing flavor that they produce, and now they will also be known for producing fantastic devices as well.

I have been reviewing Freemax products for some time and never received or bought a bad coil and let me tell you I've gone through a boatload of them in the past and the MS series are just as fantastic if not better.

With the Marvos 60 being I believe the 4th full sized or close to it wattage adjustable device from them I think they hit a Grand Slam with it's development. The device feels solid as a rock and without tossing the device on the floor and possibly scratching it I will take Freemax at their word on it's ability to take some abuse. I have done the waterproof test in a glass of water and it passed the test, because of reflections through the glass of water I didn't post a picture but it passed the test.

The color display is what made me say WOW when I first unboxed it and turned it on, so bright and vibrant with fonts large enough to read without squinting and having 5 choices of color for your background is a bonus to me.

As I mentioned earlier the Marvos 60w has been in regular use with me for 9 days and I haven't had a problem arise since I began testing it .

So in closing I will say that I believe the Marvos 60w to be the best full sized device or close to it with incremental wattage adjustment that Freemax has developed.

Having the tough military rating is really icing on the cake, I would have been happy if it was just a regular device and I consider it a winner and a big win for Freemax. By the looks of this picture and Freemax stating the pod can be used with future Marvos line of devices the first 2 Marvos may be just the beginning.

Freemax_Marvos_60W_Kit_Marvos_DTL_Pod.jpg

I would like to thank Tina and Freemax for sending the Marvos 60w Kit for me to review, and I hope that this review helped anyone looking to purchase the Marvos 60 w Kit.

THANK YOU

OBS Engine 100W; First impressions:
The wide range of colors could create some difficulties in choosing, however in my view the version I got for this Test with "Ink Black" coloring of the resin tube combined with the "gun barrel" color of the Mod, I really like as a match and I feel more than satisfied.
I also appreciate the convenience of the knurled bottom cap that allows easy access to the compartment / battery with the possibility of simultaneously extracting the colored Sleeve for (21700) or inserting the reduced tube for 18650 inside it. Perhaps in the future they will be available (as spare parts) different decoration options for the resin sleeve.

The first idea that came to my mind was to compare the new OBS Engine 100W with the previous OBS Cube-S 80W, which I had already talked about here: OBS Cube-S Box Mod

The Cube-S 80W is a mod with 18650 battery that has had great success and that still has, perhaps because it is a handy and convenient product to buy by virtue of a low price. The Cube-S legacy has been successfully carried over to the new 100W OBS Engine which is remarkably small it can accommodate a large 21700 cell.

OBS Engine 100W Box Mod by sourcemore 7.jpg

OBS Engine 100W; Feeling:
Overall, the OBS Engine vaguely resembles the handle of a revolver and is overall very pleasing to the eye. There are beautiful decorations without excess. OBS Engin result so handy and absolutely not too heavy (102g). The angular shapes of the front are well connected with the panels and contrast with the smooth cylindrical sleeve and with the battery compartment cap with a black knurled surface.

OBS Engine 100W Box Mod by sourcemore 8.jpg

OBS Engine 100W; Display:
On the narrow and angular front the black screen curves towards the top and bottom of the Mod. The screen houses the Color Display, the Fire button and the "+" and "-" adjustment buttons. All the buttons are round and slightly protruding, they are easily accessible and are precise and free from annoying noises. The Display contains the following information; OBS brand, remaining battery percentage and graphic indicator, set power, wattage lock / unlock symbol (padlock), Volt, Ohm, last Puff length, Puff total counter, Puff graphic equalizer and graphic indication of the colors available for the display background.

OBS Engine 100W Box Mod by sourcemore 9.jpg

OBS Engine 100W; front / back view:
The front is completely different in shape and appearance than the back. The front is slightly wider, with a square and angular shape, while the rear is perfectly cylindrical and features a beautiful and reflective "ENGINE" writing with metallic finishes at the top and in relief. So the part used for the handle with its round and smooth form factor of the decorated sleeve offers a completely different impact than the front.
Overall it is a pleasant feeling to have two aspects so different from each other in one device.

Introduction

Hi, I'm new member here. Want to ask something and introduce myself.
I have vaping about 5 year, now I'm using DRAG v2 with MUSE RDA and sometimes using IJOY DIAMOND 45w with OBS Engine MTL for MTL vaping when go out.
Can someone tell me where to buy Artery NUGGET X? I really want it so bad to repalce my IJOY 45W, but it's sold out already in my place and every online shop in my country.

Sorry for talk too much, and thank's before.

DOVPO X SUICIDE MODS ABYSS AIO 60 WATT KIT review by hittman

I’m very excited to be back today with yet another review. This will be my first ever review for Dovpo. I was fortunate enough for Dovpo to send me the Abyss mod kit for the purpose of providing a fair and honest review. I did not know what they were sending until I received it. They were very generous and also sent some accessories for it. I already have an Abyss that I purchased about a month or so ago and have been enjoying using it so was very happy to see the Abyss and accessories that were sent. I will do my best to cover as many features as I can and give my opinion on the mod and accessories.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging of the DOVPO ABYSS AIO kit is very nice indeed. After sliding the outer cover off, the cover of the box lifts up to expose the mod and the tank along with user manual and included literature. There is a pull tab which makes removing the top foam easier to expose the charging cable, Nautilus bridge adapter, and drip tip adapter with a short drip tip installed, a 21700 adapter, and a cover that snaps over the 21700 battery. Like I mentioned earlier, I already had an ABYSS so am somewhat familiar with the operation and set up. However, I do not consider myself an expert on billet box type devices.

So far I had tried the Ether rba and a Vaporesso GTX coil in the one that I purchased so decided to set up this one with the included Nautilus bridge and a Nautilus .7 ohm 2S coil that I happened to have. There aren’t any coils included in the kit so if you are going to order one and don’t have any Nautilus coils and didn’t order the Ether rba then you should add a package of coils so you can try it when received. I don’t own a billet box but from what I understand it’s basically the same type of unit where you have a bare empty tank and can insert whichever bridge or rba that you choose.

Before you start to assemble the ABYSS, you need to decide whether you want to use an 18650 or 21700 battery. Depending on which one you choose, there are different top caps that fit each one. Also, if you decide to use a 21700, the battery tube must be removed. I decided to try a 21700 on this one since I had not tried that before.

Below is a picture of the ABYSS broken down and ready to assemble with the battery tube removed.

upload_2021-7-24_19-29-9.png

Before starting to assemble, I went ahead and took the Nautilus bridge out of the box, screwed it together and threaded a Nautilus coil into it. Then it simply seats into the bottom with a push.

upload_2021-7-24_19-30-22.png

After that the tank portion and the top cap can be installed. It’s nice that the fill port cap is also metal on the outside and matches the finish of the mod. Next, I inserted the 21700 with the positive terminal down and sat the tank onto the mod so that I could install the top cap. The top cap has to be inserted on the battery end first and sits in a groove and you rotate the top cap until it is centered over the opening in the top of the cap. At least that’s how it’s supposed to work. What happened to me was I was putting it together on a kitchen counter with hardwood flooring below and didn’t have a good handle on the tank when I went to rotate the top cap and launched it onto the floor and the glass section of the tank shattered. Thank goodness that DOVPO sent the glass pack so I was able to clean it up and install one of the spare glass sections. It might have been nice if a spare glass section had been included in the kit. One tip is to push down a little on the tank while rotating the top cap so that what happened to me doesn’t happen to you.

Once everything is in place then thread the included 510 adapter with tip into the top of the cap and into the tank. This holds the tank in place as well as being the tip adapter. When tightening, be sure to locate the fill port facing out so that it’s easy to fill and refill.

upload_2021-7-24_19-31-10.png

Below is the tank assembled, the top cap with the negative marking on the underside of the cap, and of course the mod.

Below shows the 21700 battery installed and the tank sitting on the mod waiting for the top cap to be installed.

upload_2021-7-24_19-34-14.png

This next image shows the top cap installed over the battery and locked into place ready to rotate and hold the tank in place.

IMG-5715-Copy.jpg

This one shows the cap rotated over the tank and ready to install the 510 adapter and lock the tank in place. At this point the tank is still loose enough to rotate despite the spring loaded pin that the tank is sitting on. Since the 18650 battery tube was removed you can see the battery wrap but don’t worry. We are going to protect that battery.

IMG-5730.jpg

Here you see the unit assembled with the snap on battery cover and ready for the adapter to be installed.

IMG-5733.jpg

And finally, the tip adapter is installed. The included tip can be pulled off once the adapter is threaded in and you can use the 510 tip of your choice.

IMG-5731.jpg

Ok, I know that might seem like a lot but I wanted to try to go into detail on the assembly process for those that might not be familiar with this type of device. It really goes together rather quickly. Just don’t fumble the tank like I did and break the glass.

Now let’s take a look at the operation of the ABYSS and what features it offers. The fire button is held in place by a cover with three screws on one side. I did not receive any for the review but there are different button kits available that the user can easily install if they don’t like the oval button that comes installed. The airflow control is built into the mod and not into the tank. There is a small round lever that protrudes from the front to make it easier to adjust the airflow. The airflow control on the one I received for review was very tight and initially struggled to move it. I put a couple drops of VG on it and worked it back and forth and it loosened up some. On the front below the airflow control is the USB-C charging port. There isn’t any branding on the device which I personally like.

The screen of the ABYSS and the + and – buttons are on the bottom of the unit. The display shows the battery level indicator, Voltage, Resistance, and Set Wattage. The button sequence for the ABYSS is as follows:

- Press the fire button five times to turn the device on or off

- Press the fire button three times to lock or unlock the fire button and the display will show a message

- Press the + and – buttons to lock the adjustment buttons

- While the adjustment buttons are locked, press the + button three times to put it in stealth mode

- When not locked, press the fire button and the – button to switch between the modes which are Wattage, Voltage, TC Ni, TC Ti, TC SS

- While in TC mode, press the fire button and + button and then you can adjust the wattage set in TC mode

I didn’t feel like it was necessary to take a picture of every screen message but below are a few so you can see what the display looks like. With the whole thing being black it’s a little hard to see the + and – buttons on the left side of the screen. I think it might have been nice to make them stainless so they can be seen easier.

IMG-5736.jpg

IMG-5737.jpg

There are many accessories available for the ABYSS. Besides the Nautilus bridge there are four other bridges that I know of that will allow you to use different coils. DOVPO was nice enough to send me the bridge pack which contains all four. However, the bridges can be purchased separately. I purchased just the GTX bridge when I bought the one I had previously. The four bridges will allow you to use Caliburn G, EUC, Nord, or GTX/PNP coils. Included also in the bridge adapter pack is a new cap required for using the GTX/PNP bridge adapter.

dovpo-abyss-bridge-pack.jpg

If you don’t want to use factory coils there is also an rba available called the ETHER. It allows you to build and install your own coils and wicks and works very well in my opinion. I’ve been running the ETHER in my other ABYSS for a while and really like it. It is fairly easy to build on. Besides the rba itself, included in the Ether package is the following.

4* Swappable Airflow Pin (3mm, 2mm, 1mm, 0.8mm)
3* Integrated MTL Drip Tip with 2 Additional Sleeves

dovpo-ether-rba-kit-for-abyss.jpg

IMG-5728.jpg

The other accessory item that I received with my review sample is the glass pack which contains a clear, black tinted, and ultem color tank sections. The tank sections are just held in place with o rings.

IMG-5705.jpg

FINAL THOUGHTS:

It has been an absolute pleasure testing the DOVPO ABYSS. It is a very solid well-built device. Whether you want to use the Nautilus coils in it, one of the other four bridge adapter/coil options or even build your own coils with the ETHER rba kit, there’s an option for just about anyone. I personally am well stocked on GTX, PNP, and have some Nautilus coils so it is a good fit for me. Also having the ETHER rba that is easy to build and performs well with your choice of airflow insert from the ones included. I know that there are a lot of accessory items available but you don’t necessarily need them all but instead can pick and choose depending on what you like to use. Besides all of the accessories I have mentioned, there is one other available but I did not receive it for the review. It is an SBS (side by side) kit. What it does is turns the Abyss into a side by side device that you can use any 510 threaded tank on the ABYSS.

The Abyss is a little bit heavy but not bad. I have to admit that it took me a little while to get used to the button placement on it but am very well used to it now and it’s second nature. Just out of curiosity, I put each of the two Abyss mods on a scale to compare the weight difference between setting up with an 18650 or 21700. It makes sense now but the 21700 set up is actually a little lighter since you remove the battery tube. The first picture is the one I purchased and is set up with an 18650 battery. The second picture is the review sample set up with the 21700. The 21700 set up is actually a little over 13 grams lighter. I could actually tell the difference in the two just by holding them.

I would like to thank DOVPO and Neil for sending the DOVPO X SUICIDE MODS ABYSS AIO kit for this review and hope to cooperate further with DOVPO in the future. As always, a great big thank you to you the readers. Below is a link to the DOVPO site. I would suggest taking a look and watching the video on the ABYSS. It’s a little long but good information if you are interested in getting one of these awesome kits for yourself.

Introduction

Vapefly have become one of the most respected vaping manufacturers over the last few years and here we see another collaboration with the German Community and their entry into the SBS market. The Brunhilde SBS has a high end look and feel to it and features some beautiful laser engraving using the CNC 5-axis carving process!

The Brunhilde SBS will accommodate atomizers up to 26mm and takes either a 21700, 20700 or 18650 battery. It features Variable Wattage, TC suite and Bypass modes and is a slick looking device having the screen on the base. I received the kit which includes the War version of the Kriemhild 2 sub-ohm tank which with it's Germanic design matches up nicely, let's crack on!

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The Brunhilde SBS Kit comes in the usual Vapefly cardboard box packaging with cardboard outer sleeve which features a line drawing of the device on the front and specs etc on the reverse! When opening I immediately thought wow despite it being in my least favourite colour, and kind of thought the packaging should of been upgraded because devices this nice looking don't come around too often in the mainstream! I received the Black version, the options are Blue, Red, Rose Gold, Silver, Pink, Gunmetal or Black, the Pink, Red and Rose Gold versions also come with Rhinestones that can be glued onto the wing designs if you so wish! Not for me but how popular those Rhinestone paintings are that my wife keeps ordering from China i did wonder when they would make an appearance adding some bling in the vaping arena!

The form factor i really like it's almost like taking a Pico and converting it into an SBS but with much better materials! The main aesthetic features are the laser engravings, we have a wing design either side and helmet on the face with the large round fire button incorporated into the design, we also have another little laser engraving on the battery cap. The picture below mentions the process but what i must mention is it says it's light in weight which is rubbish, my main con for the device is it's very heavy in fact much heavier than most of my dual battery devices.

5dR71pU.png

As well as the nicely protruding large round fire button on the face of the device we have two smaller round protruding navigational buttons on one side below the wing design, also on the face near the bottom we have the Type C USB port! Both face and spine is nicely curved (like a Pico) and moving to the top we have the Stainless Steel battery tube one side which is substantial and the other side much lower down the again substantial Stainless Steel plate with Gold plated, spring loaded 510.

Moving to the Stainless Steel plate on the bottom we have the old school screen, the main chassis is made of Aerospace Aluminium but don't let this fool you into thinking this is light! Just to point out mine has venting holes on the battery cap but on the retail i have been told there will also be two sets of 3 venting holes on the base!

What You Receive?

You receive the Brunhilde SBS device and War edition Kriemhild II with pre-installed narrow 4ml glass, tapered 810 delrin drip tip and installed Duplex 0.2ohm mesh coil.

As well as the usual paperwork you also receive a spare glass, really nice Resin 810 alternative drip tip, 510 drip tip adaptor, a K-series FreeCore 0.3ohm mesh coil head and a bag full of spare rubber seals and O-rings!

tdvkphm.jpg

Finally you receive a USB Type C cable, 18650 battery adaptor, mod protectors (although i have no idea why they are needed as the device has a very substantial Stainless Steel plate) and if you choose either the Red, Pink or Rose Gold version you will also receive some Rhinestones!

Kriemhild II Overview

I actually didn't use the Kriemhild II too much with the Brunhilde SBS apart from to just get a feel for the match up! The reason being is i reviewed the same tank with exact same coils only a month ago so it's performance is still clear in the head and it gave me the opportunity to try different atomisers on the device! Like with the brunhilde SBS the Kriemhild II has an high end look and feel and same Germanic styling!

PFA32AO.jpg

Up top we have an 810 drip tip with the option of fitting a 510 adaptor, the top-cap has a bayonet fitting which once removed reveals the fill plate with self sealing membrane and a silicone seal to the inner section of the top-cap for a really good seal.

aO4jPVw.jpg

The base section unscrews counter clockwise revealing the Kriemhild II accommodates plug and play coil heads that fit into a chamber which host wicking ports. The chimney which extends from the chamber screws to the bottom of the fill plate and also extends at it's base to create a shelf for the glass to sit on. To remove the glass just unscrew the chamber/chimney section from the fill plate which also reveals the glass gets sealed both top and bottom with O-rings!

You get two different 810 drip tips and as mentioned a 510 drip tip adaptor so you can fit any 810 or 510 of your choice!

dSP6Bhw.jpg

_________________________________________________________________________

The Coils and Fitting!

As mentioned the Kriemhild II accommodates the new K-series FreeCore mesh coil heads which just get press fitted into place then secured by fastening the base section into place.

YEABSe2.jpg

The main marketing for the Kriemhild II revolves around the patented Duplex 0.2ohm mesh coil head which is pre-installed. Rather than having a mesh strip with a negative one end and positive the other it has two strips of mesh each half the length which share a central positive pin and each having an independent negative, essentially this means the mesh heats up twice as quickly and much more evenly improving vape quality and the improved ramp up is very noticeable! As well as the K-1 Duplex 0.2ohm mesh coil head which is rated between 45w to 60w you also receive the K-2 0.3ohm mesh coil head which is rated between 40w to 55w!

cczGtGw.png

_________________________________________________________________________

Filling

The Kriemhild II has a top-cap with bayonet fitting (my favourite) so just a quarter turn and it's off! The fill plate has 2 large kidney fill ports with membrane seal, if you don't like the seal i don't see any reason why the tanks vacuum would be compromised if removed due to the seal to the inner side of the top-cap. I never tried to remove the membrane seal personally but as a spare is included then it obviously can be! The Kreimhild II holds 4ml of liquid (2ml TPD version), once filled again it's just a slight turn to secure the top-cap!

_________________________________________________________________________

The Airflow

The Kriemhild II is mainly designed for DL or semi restrictive direct lung with it's two large cyclops with stoppers! However after testing the tank at different wattages and airflow settings being someone who prefers more restriction i found with a 510 drip tip fitted and airflow only a fifth open both coils set at 5w below their recommendation gave a decent RDL! Finally the airflow adjusts very smoothly with just the right tolerance!

_________________________________________________________________________

RBA and RMC Coils!

As well as the included coils there is also an RBA coil available as a separate purchase!

1BsJV84.png

Also now available for the Kriemhild II are DIY RMC coils as first seen for the optima and now becoming very popular cutting the price of coils dramatically!

Fitting The Battery

The Brunhilde SBS accommodates either a 21700, 20700 or when using the supplied adaptor an 18650. The battery gets fitted into the battery tube by first unscrewing the battery cap at the top of the tube. Both the tube and cap have a substantial look and feel and the threading is pretty darn nice. Looking inside the tube positive is labelled vibrantly at the bottom and on the underside of the cap negative is labelled in White, great job.

I have tried all three battery sizes and experienced no battery movement whatsoever. Although I never recommend charging a battery in the device unless it is your only option if you do need to charge internally we have a Type C USB connection and 2A charge rate, it also supports pass-through!

thacZX2.jpg

_________________________________________________________________________

The Display

As with so many SBS devices the screen is located on the base of the device which is for me a con but that con allows for a compact design and a much slicker device with no screen visible on the main device so a trade off.

Again like so many SBS we have quite a simple chip and old school display. To the left in a vertical position we have the battery status bar and to the right of this we have resistance at the top and voltage at the bottom (this will be wattage in TC Mode). The entire right side of the display is the Wattage or Temperature when in TC or it says Bypass when in Bypass mode!

cnOn9C3.jpg

_________________________________________________________________________

Operating The Brunhilde SBS

This may be one stunning device but actually it is a very simple device to operate having a very simple chipset, although we do have TC settings! 5 clicks of the fire button turns the device both on and off and once on pressing both navigational buttons together locks those buttons but the device will still fire. The only other combination button press feature is fire and right together flips the screen.

To change mode is 3 quick presses of the fire button, so three quick presses changes from Wattage mode to TC and another 3 presses take you to Bypass before a final 3 presses takes you back to Wattage. When the initial TC Screen comes up the wire type is blinking so use the navigational buttons to scroll between Ni, Ti and SS, they are quite basic TC settings with no TCR etc.

When on the working screen the wattage adjusts from 5w to 100w in 0.1w increments with single presses and 1w increments with an adjustment button held down, it round robins. In TC mode it round robins between Celsius and Fahrenheit, in Celsius it adjusts in 1 degree increments between 100 and 315 degrees and in Fahrenheit 5 degree increments from 200 to 600 degrees!

My Experience and How It Vapes!

I must point out sub-ohm tanks with stock coils is not really my thing and only tend to test them if something stands out which was the case here with the patented Duplex coil head! Despite this i only used the Kriemhild II with the Brunhilde SBS for a short period as i have only just reviewed it which allowed me to test the device with other atomisers!

Sub-ohm tanks tend to be quite loud and can be turbulent, the Kriemhild II certainly isn't quiet as the coil head sizzling can be clearly heard but it's by no means especially loud and definitely not turbulent giving a smooth vape however the airflow is set!

I can see possibly those into their sub-ohm tanks getting the wow factor trying the new Duplex coil head because the flavour is up there with the Freemax coils and the quicker ramp up is definitely evident. I also found the 0.3ohm coil head gave very decent flavour but overall just wish there was more coil options, although we do now have available the RBA and RMC DIY coils which are big pros!

Both coils will comfortably go 10w above their recommendation if you like a hot vape and liking restriction i preferred both 5w under using the supplied 510 adaptor and 510 drip tip! The design is pleasing to the eye and in this kit you receive a decent amount of extras including spare glass, alternative drip tip and the mentioned 510 adaptor!

The star of the show though is the gorgeous Brunhilde SBS device which is just stunning. The engraving on the device is amongst the best i have seen on a device especially one within the price range and build quality is exceptional.

The only real cons I have is it's very heavy especially for a single battery device, for me a desktop device and far too heavy to carry around although i am tempted just to show it off, it's that nice! The other is having the screen on the base of the device which means turning the device upside down to read it but then most SBS have this bottom screen which as a trade off gives a much slicker looking device and is space saving! Unless using a TC based mod or a TC feature such as Replay or Smart TC i am a power only user so don't see the point reviewing the TC settings and giving information that is incorrect so if you are a TC user you will need to do more research.

All the buttons are clicky and protrude nicely, I like the old school display and how simple the device is to use. In power mode it performed like a trooper, with instant ramp up and no noticeable delay! Being able to fit up to 26mm atomizers is a bonus as many SBS devices are limited to 24mm but that 26mm is with a straight glass only! Having Type C USB and a 2A charge rate is another win for those that need to charge in the device.

The device may be heavy but it's very ergonomic and quite compact, they have done a great job of keeping the size down considering this will accommodate a 21700 battery. To sum up the Brunhilde SBS is a gorgeous looking device and is matched up with a high performance sub-ohm tank!

Salty/sweet taste ALL VAPES flavors why?

sup, thanks for reading . I'm vaping for 3 years now, never had problem until now. I taste saltiness on my tongue after vaping for more than 10 seconds. I thought it might be coil so I changed them all. Maybe juice so i tried different ones different flavor. same thing.

I vaped for 3 years just Pomango and Menthol. Never had that problem. Recently I got into DIY Mixing so i ordered 14 different flavors and started experimenting. Mostly Peach, Mango, sweet mango CAP, Green Apple, Pomegranate. never went over % than whats recommended. After sweet Mango flavor CAP 5% solo flavor it started. I thought maybe its the mango flavor so Itried others and same thing, even Menthol. So its definitely something with my taste. I tried to eat lollipop candy and its there but barely noticeable because of the sugar from lolipop. Hmmmm.... Is it because i started experimenting with other flavors and I have so called"Vapers tongue " thingy?

When first time I tried mango and green apple , OMG it was spectacular taste!!!after few weeks now just salt mix with touch of sweetness and a litlle flavor on my tongue and I do let it go thru my nose and stuff too , to get most out of vaping experience, menthol is the strongest from them all that stays but its not the same as it was few weeks ago.

anybody had same issue? I found the thread from 2011 the guy had same issue.

18 days vaping - all juices now tasting salty sweet, but not in a good way.

I do feel, menthol, peach and other fruits flavor for 3-6 sec just after 10 seconds it becomes kinda salty on my tongue and lets see, umm upper patella of the jaw you call it? yeah... and im loosing flavor, very frustrating....

anyone can explain that or had similar experience?

thanks

SXK Delro

Hi guys,

I got my blue aluminium SXK Delro clone a couple of weeks ago ; very interested to discuss this mod with others.

I chose the SEVO 70 version as a starting point.

$98.00 SXK Delro Styled 70W TC VW AIO Mod Kit - 1-70W / 2200mAh / SEVO 70 chipset at FastTech - Free Shipping

My initial impressions are good:

1) Build quality is great with the exception of some machining marks around the screen area. I haven't seen this in any other photos. Has anybody else noticed this?

2) The fit and finish of the door is top tier - slides in with perfect tolerance and lets no unwanted air in around the seal. Magnets strong. The external finish of the body is flawless.

3) The buttons are good with the exception of a little rattle from the up/down bar. Easily fixed with one layer of tape added by removing the button panel. 10 minute job. Has anyone else noticed button rattle?

4) The anodised aluminium finish of the mod is excellent. My only subjective criticism is that it's a bit on the slippery side and easy to drop.

5) It fits Boros and variants like the VapeSnail and Qbix well. The nut has the same threads as the SXK BB clone so doesn't work with BBV flush nuts etc.

6) The honeycomb AF is smoother with the Delro than the same RBAs are in BBs or the Boxx

7) The 2200mAh rated LiPo battery may or may not be true to SXK manual specs and I'm continuing to test it and get a feel. Would be very interested in other people's thoughts on this.

I've ordered transparent door and button panels:

$14.90 SXK Delro Styled AIO Mod Kit Replacement Door Cover Panel Plate at FastTech - Free Shipping

and silver buttons:

$7.90 SXK Delro Styled AIO Mod Kit Replacement Fire + Adjustable Button Key - stainless steel at FastTech - Free Shipping

Overall I really love this device and plan to buy a DNA version soon. Thinking the Ultem might be nice.

Any other SXK Delro clone owners out there?

VAPORESSO LUXE 80 POD MOD KIT review by hittman

Today I’m back with yet another review for you. I’ll be covering the VAPORESSO LUXE 80. There are actually two models of the 80. I was sent two of the LUXE 80 kits but was thinking that I would receive one LUXE 80 and one LUXE 80S. The 80 has an internal battery while the 80S uses 18650 replaceable batteries. Anyway I’m happy to be doing another review for one of my favorite companies. I like that VAPORESSO has decided to stick with the GTX series of coils that can be used on many of the VAPORESSO devices and also have decided to use the same pod that was included in the GTX GO 80 that I previously reviewed.

Vaporesso-Luxe-80-Pod-Mod-Kit-colors.jpg

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

1* LUXE 80 Mod
1* GTX Pod 26 (5ml)
1* GTX 0.2ohm Mesh Coil
1* GTX 0.3ohm Mesh Coil
1* Type-C USB Cable
1* User Manual
1* Warranty Card

Here’s what I received for the review.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging on the LUXE 80 is much like any other VAPORESSO product that I have received for review. There’s the outer sleeve that exposes a top and bottom box half. Once opened you see the device, charging cable, and two included coils upside down in foil packaging. The user manual and included documentation is underneath the plastic holder. One thing that I never really pay attention to is the scratch and scan code on the back. I wonder if anyone ever really scans those.

Most devices I receive for review are nearly fully charged and this one was too but I go ahead and top them off because I want to get a good idea of battery life and puff count. I noticed this morning that the battery indicator had gone into the red so thought I’d go ahead and recharge it after running the .2 GTX coil at 47 watts for nearly 350 puffs. When I plugged it in to charge then it showed me that there was still 19% battery life left. I kind of wish that the percentage was shown on the main screen when it’s in use instead of only when charging. From that point it charged in about an hour and a half thanks to the 2A fast charging provided by the USB-C charging port. The battery is rated at 2500mah and to me that seems pretty accurate.

The display looks just like the display on the PX80 to me. Just like the PX80 it uses the Axon chip. Going from top to bottom in power mode it shows:

- Battery indicator

- Set wattage

- Output bar that I think is supposed to simulate an oscilloscope

- Best recommended wattage range for the coil being used

- Coil resistance and voltage under load

- Puff counter and length of current puff in seconds

The front of the mod is indented much like the PX80 was and has the fire button at the top followed by the display, + and – buttons under the display and USB-C charging port near the bottom. On the left side of the mod is the word LUXE and a padded leather. On the right side is what I believe is called an IML panel. The one I like the best out of the two I received is blue and depending on how the light hits it, it looks different. I really love the looks of this mod. On the back is a smaller indent and the word VAPORESSO. The bottom of the mod says LUXE 80 and has three vent holes. The top of the mod has a metal ring with two airflow slots in it which is where the pod is inserted and has a metal ring for the pod magnets to attach to and two gold plated contacts. The ring in this one is flat with the contacts which is different than several other pod mods I’ve tested. On the other ones the contacts sit well below the metal ring which makes it difficult to clean any condensation or liquid. This one should be much easier to keep clean.

The menu system on the LUXE 80 is the same as the PX80 so please excuse my laziness while I copy and paste that from my previous review.

- To turn the PX80 on and off it is the all too familiar 5 presses of the fire button

- To enter the menu system, press the + and – buttons at the same time

- Inside the menu you will find VW, VV, Smart VW, Puff, Theme, Default, and Exit

- To lock the + and – buttons press the fire button 3 times

Under themes in the menu system, there are three color choices which are green, blue and pink.

The pod that is included in the LUXE 80 kit is the GTX POD 26 that was included in the GTX GO 80 kit that I reviewed a short time ago. The highlights of this pod are that it is a top fill tank. A ¼ turn exposes to fill port that has a gasket seal and also has a vent hole for no mess filling. The pod and this kit can use the entire line of GTX coils. The new GTX coils have an extra o ring that contributes to the SSS Leak Resistant Technology. After hundreds of puffs on the counter, I literally had zero leaking and no condensation. To me that almost seems unrealistic for a pod device.

The airflow control is just like it is on the PX80 and GTX GO 80 where there are stationary slots cut in the body of the mod and simply turn the pod to adjust the airflow. One might think that this design would lend itself to accidental movement of the pod and messing up your set airflow. This has not been an issue at all for me. The pod has four magnets on the bottom that make a very strong connection and the pod is a snug fit with no rattle in the opening. The only downside I could see about this pod is that the drip tip is not removable. There is also a lock ring near the bottom inside the pod that assists in keeping it leak proof.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The LUXE 80 kit is really a nice kit and I enjoyed testing it. With features like a very compact design that would fit easily in a pocket, compatible with all GTX coils, SSS Leak Resistant Technology, top filling, adjustable airflow control, and the fast firing AXON chip, what’s not to like?

upload_2021-7-23_20-13-26.png

From left to right is the LUXE 80, Digiflavor Z1 and Innokin Z80 just so you can see how compact the LUXE 80 is.

I felt like the battery lasted a long time and with as many puffs as I got on the .2 ohm coil with a single charge then it would definitely last me an entire day. The screen is plenty bright enough for me but some of the font is too small in my opinion. I really struggle to see some of the information on the screen.

In my opinion, VAPORESSO makes some really great quality devices and I think this one is another one. You might be wondering if this one is worth getting since it is a little similar to the PX80. The game changer for me is the top fill tank. Almost every pod device of this style that I have tested is a bottom fill. I’ve complained before that I wish someone would make their pods top fill and VAPORESSO has listened and come up with a good design. Now if I could just change the tip then I’d be completely satisfied.

One other thing that I would like to mention since I got into a discussion on it on the forum is that the GTX 26 POD is designed to be used on the GTX GO 80 and LUXE 80. I had a person that bought the GTX 26 and was complaining about it not working exactly right on the PX80. It’s not designed for the PX80 but I did put a coil in it and was able to fire it on the PX80 but am sure it’s not recommended. The airflow slots don’t align correctly and the reason being is it’s not designed for that mod.

Ok, here we are again at the end again. Would I recommend the LUXE 80? Yes I would but would like to add that I wish I had gotten the LUXE 80S also because when making a purchase, I am more likely to go with a unit with a replaceable battery if given the option. That being said, I felt like the LUXE 80 performed very well. I’d like to thank VAPORESSO and Milo for sending the two LUXE 80 kits for this review. You might be tired of hearing this if you read a lot of my reviews but I do mean it. THANK YOU to the readers! Below is a link if you’d like to take a look at the VAPORESSO website.

VooPoo Seal 40W MTL Kit 6.jpg

VooPoo Seal; First impressions:
As I anticipated and as you can see, this kit adopts a rather distinctive style with a tapered and very compact body. Seal differs very noticeably from any Pod or Mod-Pod device seen so far. (The image below demonstrates this).
The protective layer of "liquid silicone" effectively protects Seal from minor impacts and offers IP66 protection to resist water and dust.
VooPoo Seal has a 1200mAh internal battery rechargeable via the USB type C port. The range of use is between 5 and 40W and the GENE Chip communicates with a rather bright and detailed 0.54-inch OLED screen. With Seal you can use the Auto Draw mode or manually press the Fire button to vape.

Included in the kit you will find a 2ml MTL PnP cartridge, very similar to the previous 4.5ml RDL / DL version. The interesting feature of Seal is full compatibility with the entire VooPoo circular tank platform. The only limit is the choice of RDL / DL coils to use (Seal is limited to 40W), however you have a wide range of resistors available for MTL / RDL vaping within 40W.
Included in the kit are two silicone covers to protect the cartridge; one cap is for the MTL PnP-Tank (pre-installed) and the other is for the 4.5ml PnP-Tank RDL / DL.
* In case you don't own the 4.5ml PnP Tank you can always buy it separately.

VooPoo Seal 40W MTL Kit 7.jpg

VooPoo Seal; Feeling:
The image below shows how Seal is truly a small and compact device! Seal truly disappears in the palm of your hand! If this image could speak it would tell you how light and pleasant to the touch the material that covers this kit is.

VooPoo Seal 40W MTL Kit 8.jpg

VooPoo Seal; 360 ° look:
Personally I don't find any weaknesses in Seal's appearance which is really well done and proportioned from all points of view, the more I look at it the more I like it! The Drip-Tip on the PnP-PCTG cartridge is fixed, but I don't feel any desire to replace it, for me it is perfect in shape and for MTL use. Even the silicone cover above the pod is well made and adherent, its surface is completely smooth and soft, if you use Seal with the cover inserted, the view on the internal e-liquid level is a little limited and if you want you can remove. The device is still very nice even without this cover.

The body of Seal has a surface with a "lamellar" finish that is very soft and pleasant to the touch like a real anti-stress. On the front you find three soft control buttons that are precise and silent. The button for the manual activation of the puff (Fire) is oval in shape, very well sized in relation to the Mod. The two adjustment buttons "+" and "-" are of classic round shape and are positioned under the display. The 0.54 "display shows all the information useful to the user; graphic level of residual charge, set power, vaping mode, coil value (Ω) and Puff counter.

The AFC mechanism is precise and robust, made entirely of metal. The system is controlled on the back by a knob that acts on a slider capable of opening a maximum air flow rate equivalent to 6 + 6 opposing 1.5mm holes each + a 4x1.5mm slot for the RDL vape. Or you can completely choke the air intake towards the coil for a very restricted MTL vape.

AFC combinations available:
• 12 holes of 1.5mm (6 + 6) + slot 4x1.5mm (RDL)
• 10 holes of 1.5mm (5 + 5) + slot 2mm (RDL)
• 8 holes of 1.5mm (4 + 4) for MTL / RDL
• 6 holes of 1.5mm (3 + 3) for MTL
• 4 holes of 1.5mm (2 + 2) for MTL
• 2 1.5mm holes (1 + 1) for MTL
• 0 holes total closure for restricted MTL

VooPoo Seal 40W MTL Kit 9.jpg

VooPoo Seal; view above and below:
The pod compartment is composed as usual of a metal ring for the magnetic attraction of the cartridge, the metal ring can be disassembled for cleaning and is screwed to the mod using 3 cross screws. On the bottom of the compartment there are the contact pins (Gold plated) and the system for the automatic activation of the Puff (auto-draw).

On the bottom of the device there is a watertight cap to protect the USB port. They are imprinted on the cap; the words GENE Chip, the disposal logo and the C mark E. Opening the cap to refill the device is easy thanks to a side opening in the shape of a fingernail.
After lifting the cap you have access to the charging of the device, the USB-C socket is located inside a real compartment that is screwed to the mod via two cross screws, there is also information on the charging speed (5V 1A) and 3 safety vent holes for the integrated cell.

WOMAN FINED AFTER GETTING DRONE TO DROP OFF CIGARETTES AT HOTEL QUARANTINE ROOM

I couldn't decide whether to post this here or in the 'Media and General News' forum..
An Australian traveler staying in a quarantine hotel has been fined after a
drone was spotted delivering a packet of cigarettes to her balcony. It is
understood a man was operating the drone from outside the Crowne Plaza Hotel,
in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, where the woman was isolating after returning
to the country. The alleged breach of isolation rules happened on Sunday, July
11, when a drone was seen hovering over the woman’s balcony leading to her room.
