Just dropping in after being away for a long time

Hi everyone,

Just posting here to report my success
I quit smoking completely 2 years and 5 months ago
around my birthday in May 2019, when my little niece asked me
“arent you going to stop smoking cigarettes soon?”.
It was probably my 5th attempt to quit using vaping.
I use a very easy setup of an iPower mod and a Melo 3 tank.
I can recommend those for anyone wishing an easy solution.
My first iPower mod lasted over 4 years of daily use before batteries were
worn out and I had to get the new model which is even better it seems.

My cousin died of lung cancer last month. He was a smoker, but had quit. He was
53 years old and its very tough for the family, he was a very good person and very loved.

I havnt been keeping up with the news and research about health risks from vaping.
Is it getting more accepted as harm reduction? My lungs feel way better than when I smoked, thats for sure.

Thank you for reading, and have a nice day - keep on being an awesome community

??Aegis Legend durability?....

So, I must be a very unlucky person when it comes to the durability of the Aegis Legend Mod...
I'm on my 3rd in about 5 years.
1st Legend Mod: Fell 2.5' from the bed on a rug....it quit working.
2nd Legend Mod: After 2 yrs, it quit working.
on my 3rd now: After changing batteries I constantly have to bang my hand on it to turn on. During normal use, I have no problems.

Strange.

Australia's Vape Laws Just Got Even Tighter. The Black Market Isn’t Worried

"" Drug dealers are already making serious money selling e-cigarettes. A crackdown on imports could bolster their bottom line.

SYDNEY, Australia – It’s approaching 6PM and the sun has just set on another weekday in Sydney’s inner west. A black car pulls into a quiet suburban street and parks at the roadside. Minutes later, a girl in her late teens appears. She walks to the car and waits as the window rolls down.

“That’s just 25,” says the driver, placing a small box in her hand while accepting her money. And with that, another illegal nicotine vape is sold in Sydney.

Until recently, the driver – an 18-year-old, part-time drug dealer – would have been selling marijuana from the front seat of his car. It was earlier this year that he decided to pivot to e-cigarettes instead. His name has been changed for his protection.

“I started seeing a lot of people selling vapes and I thought to look into it. Then I realised that the profits are almost double,” James told VICE World News.

It’s been illegal to sell vapes containing nicotine in Australia for years, and illegal to carry or use them without a prescription in all states and territories except South Australia. In no other Western country do such rules apply, making Australian vape laws some of the strictest in the world........"

See full article here:
Australia's Vape Laws Just Got Even Tighter. The Black Market Isn’t Worried.

So as India outlawed all vaping and the US and Canada seem to be regulating it out of existence, Australia joins in in making harm reduction a crime !

Closed/Sold Free to good home: REO Grand positive contact

I found this little guy kicking around in the bottom of my desk drawer. I haven't owned a Grand in quite awhile and rather than discard this, I'd like to send it to someone who can use it. It is in good condition - it looks like I used it but I'm not sure why it wouldn't still be in whatever mod it was in. Anyway, it should be perfectly functional as it shows no pitting on the contact surface.

Free to a fellow Reonaut - U.S. postage is on me. PM me if interested.

Lost Vape Cyborg Quest 100W 7.jpg

► First impressions:
The colorway sent to me for this Cyborg Quest 100W test is "Full SS". Many of you might think of a device very similar to Artery Cold Steel, however the Lost Vape Cyborg Mod has a very specific identity with a much more refined and stylish design, robust and massive to the nth degree. It also uses and inherits from Thelema 200W the Quest 2.0 chip which in my opinion is among the best low cost chips in this category.

I am pleased to note that Lost Vape also tries to make its magnetic Pods interchangeable with each other, in fact the tank is the classic UB Pro Tank with the very comfortable raised side filling and it is the same magnetic cartridge used on the Ursa. The cartridge is equipped with the 510 connection with adjustable AFC already seen on the thelema 200W.

Lost Vape Cyborg Quest 100W 8.jpg

With the specific design of the intertwined lattice frame, the mod in the hand is quite comfortable despite the considerable weight. The thumb finds its natural position at the top within this design and the little finger naturally wraps and supports the Mod in the rounded part below to the front panel.

Lost Vape Cyborg Quest 100W 9.jpg

Cyborg uses the same Quest 2.0 chip and graphical interface that was used on the Thelema Quest 200W and Ursa Quest 100W. On the display it is possible to view:
• Coil value
• Battery level indicator with numerical percentages
• Operating mode
• Wattage setting
• Duration of the last puff and number of user records
• Power step (Soft, Normal, Hard) and Puff counter
• Settings
As on Thelema Quest there are 4 sturdy keys, precise and slightly protruding; fire button, adjustment buttons and mode button. Below at the bottom is the Type-C DC 5V charging socket.

Cyborg's frame is made entirely of zinc alloy. On the right side of the mod is the name of Lost Vape and on the right side is the name of Cyborg Quest. The back at the top has a nice woven design and at the bottom the design is smooth and round with comfortable grip.

Good afternoon all! Progress report.

Hi everyone! Just thought I’d pop by with an update on my progress. First,Thanks to all those that gave me very sound advice because it’s done more for me over the last week than I expected. I found that not going cold turkey completely has helped immensely and vaping a different way to smoking properly has really helped too! I have since found that I roll half of what I used to take to work ( around 10) and come home with at least 4 left.I went in to a local vape shop and explained my problem. The owner picked up a 10ml bottle and said try this, get back to me if it doesn’t suit. That was a turning point for me as I went back in last Friday and bought a 50 ml box of small bottles 10 mg plus 50ml nic free both the same flavour. Can’t tell the difference!
The only give away is I have 2 tanks, the smaller is 0 nic the larger has 10 mg. Need a blindfold to distinguish between them! Thanks again all!

Smok AL85 battery problems

Hello, I've been having a lot of problems with my AL85. I've been using it for about half a year on and off and only recently started using it daily.
The problem is that sometimes ( about 1 in 10 ) when you hold the button it does work but the battery level goes down to 0, sits there for a bit and then comes back. Sometimes that doesn't happen and it all together just doesn't do anything. I am confused, I've tried reinstalling the battery multiple times, cleaned the contacts, etc.
Is It just time for a new battery or is It something else?

Closed/Sold SELL/TRADE: REO P67 with SL door

I'm looking to trade my REO P67 for other squonk gear. The P67 is in very good, used condition. Black wrinkle finish with copper vein SL door (door has darkened over time). The pictures should speak to the condition. If you have any trouble viewing the pictures, PM me and I can email a link to the pictures.

P67 will include the allen key to adjust the 510 and a brand new, properly fitted silicone bottle (not pictured).

RRP on this P67 was $225. I'm looking to trade for other squonky things with preference given to mechanical squonk mods. I will also entertain regulated squonk mods and high end squonk attys. I never know what is going to strike my fancy so don't be shy. Cash can go either way to even out the deal.

Will also sell outright for $125 shipped, paid via PayPal F&F. G&S buyers to pay fees.

The P67 is currently packaged and will ship same or next day depending on timing.

Recycling Reusing Coils

I see on YouTube all these people recycling their coils, you know rinse & soak coils in 100% alcohol for 24 hours and Bob’s your uncle.

What are peoples experiences that have done this with coils. Does it really work?

To me it seems that once a coil is used and burnt, then it can’t be used again. But what do I know? Stacks of YouTube people swear by it.

Vandy vape Kylin M Pro Rta Review

I received kylin m pro rta from Vandy vape for the purpose of this review.

Vandy vape kylin m pro rta colors:

- Rainbow
- Ss
- Gun metal
- Gold
- Matte black
- Frosted grey

XhRIv7J.jpg

Speicifications:

Length: 33.35mm
Diameter: 24.2mm
Capacity: 6ml/8ml

In the box:

1* Kylin M Pro RTA
2* Vape Cotton Laces
1* Accessory Bag
1* Pyrex Glass Tube
1* Instruction Manual
2* A1 M Coils 0.2ohm
2* A1 M Coils 0.15ohm

f9nytvZ.jpg

Kylin m pro is new mesh rta from vandy vape and this atomizer comes in really nice package where you will receive coils, 2 tanks, cotton and tool for the coil. Build quality of the atomizer is really good, nothing to complain about as expected from vandy vape. Atomizer is 24.2mm in diameter on the base and height of the atomizer is 33mm.

JzV9Udp.jpg

Atomizer comes with 810 drip tip and you can use here any other 810 drip tip if you want. With this atomizer you will receive 510 drip tip adapter so you can use here 510 drip tips if you want.
This is a top fill atomizer and you can pretty easy take off the top cap, you need quarter turn and then you can take it off which is good. When you take off the top cap you can see two holes for eliquid and you can fill this atomizer with any bottle which is really nice.

This is a top airflow atomizer which many people like. The airflow control ring is under the top cap and you can easily adjust the airflow here. On the airflow control ring you can see two airflow slots and what you adjust on one side it will be the same on the other side.

Qiqvqrz.jpg

DSHBNjY.jpg

Atomizer comes with two tanks, with this atomizer you will receive regural tank and you will receive bubble tank. With regular tank capacity of the atomizer is 6ml which is really good capacity in my opinion but with bubble tank capacity is 8ml which is great capacity and I belive mmany people will like the capacity here.

Chamber has really nice conical hape which improves the flavor, when you look at the chamber from the inside you can see how airflow wokrs on this atomizer.
On the base you can see two screws for clamps that holds the coil. In the package with this atomizer you will receive 4 mesh coils which is really good, but also you will receive cotton. Building on the atomizer is simple because you will receive coil tool to bend the coil and all you need to do after is to place it. Wicking is also pretty simple especially if you used mesh rta before. You need to cut cotton at angle and place it inside. On the picture you can see how I wickied the atomizer.

rBGDVB9.jpg

I4dX47P.jpg

cG7M9Xw.jpg

My thoughts:

Let me start with the package, it is really good because you will receive coils, cotton, tool and 510 drip tip adapter. On this atomizer you can use your 810 or 510 drip tips without any problems which is really good. You can fill the tank fast and without problems using any bottle. Capacity is good with regular and with buble tank, with bubble tank you have 8ml capacity which is great. You can easy adjust the airflow and we have top airflow here which many will like. Building and wicking is pretty simple and if you ever used any mesh rta you will have no problems with this one. This atomizer performs really well, flavor is very good and you can expect good vapor production, personally I have nothing to complain about this atomizer, it is really well made and it performs great, so if you like mesh rta's you can get this one.

Cons:

- I can't complain about anything here

Pros:

- Good build quality
- Cotton and coils in the package
- 6ml and 8ml capacity
- Easy to fill
- Easy to adjust the airflow
- Flavor is very good and there is a lot of vapor
- Wicking is good
- Top airflow

Thanks Vandy vape

New2Vaping, in need of help with flooded coil!

I have the Vaporesso Gen S w/ the NRG-S tank it came with, and I'm using Vaporesso GT 8 coils(50w-110w)
I replaced my coil on Saturday with my last brand new coil and somehow I think it got flooded - I primed it, I let it sit in the tank with juice for like 15 minutes, I started vaping at a lower wattage and was planning on gradually moving up until iwas at my usual wattage but the first time I tried to fire it it was gurgling and spitting ejuice smoke was coming out the bottom of thd coil as well as ejuice leaking from the bottom of the coil.
I took it apart, blew air through it a bunch of times let it sit out and dry for 24 hours. When I put it back it in, the same thing happened, so I repeated what I did before and now it's Monday and it's still acting like it's flooded.
I don't get it because all over the internet people talk about what an "easy fix" a flooded tank is. What am I doing wrong?
Please help!

Philippine Survey Confirms Huge Support For Vaping

"“The Philippine Senate will be on the right side of the people when it approves the most progressive vaping legislation in Asia Pacific,” says Nancy Loucas, Executive Coordinator of the Coalition of Asia Pacific Tobacco Harm Reduction Advocates (CAPHRA)........

The survey revealed a staggering 94% of respondents agree that the Government should enact policies to encourage adult smokers to switch to less harmful alternatives to cigarettes. At the same time, they must ensure these products are not used by the youth.......

Peter Dator, president of consumer group Vapers PH and CAPHRA member, says the results of this survey come at a crucial time.

“The Senate should be very encouraged that 9 out of ten Filipino smokers support the Government passing laws to encourage them to switch to less harmful alternatives. The support is overwhelming,” he says.

Ms Loucas says the Philippine Government should be congratulated for its determination to reflect the will the people.

“The Government has done well not to succumb to the World Health Organisation’s lies about vaping or Michael Bloomberg’s bullying of governments to ban safer nicotine alternatives,” she says.

The latest research proving anti-tobacco billionaire foundations have funnelled millions into Asia Pacific NGOs to lobby governments to ban vaping, and discredit vaping advocates, has received worldwide press attention........

Consumer groups in the Asia Pacific region have also launched a petition at change.org/v4v-petition that urges the WHO to respect consumer rights and to stop demonizing Tobacco Harm Reduction options ahead of November’s meeting of the WHO FCTC.

Hey to everyone - Can anyone help?

Hey all.
I’m still pretty newbie to vaping.
I was given a Smok species, that worked okay with only a few hiccups, as it kind of having a life on its own - seen the voltage change by itself even though the screen was locked
Well learned to live with that
I got this really annoying problem basically thanks to my boyfriend
He borrowed it since he forgot his own Smok Scar 18. When I got it back he had switched out my TFV-Mini V2 5ml tank with his TFV9 2ml
To no surprise it’s leaking and had to buy a new tank, only problem is that the tank is stuck on the mod, the treads broken. I have removed the glass and coil in my attempt to get it off. Nothing has worked and I’m out of ideas.
If someone has the answer, you’ll save me quite a lot of money from buying a new one ☺️

Best regards

Problems with my Berserker Mini V2

Hello everyone. I'm really hoping someone can help me out here because I really cannot figure out what is wrong with my materials.

Recently I decided to buy the berserker mini v2, a building tool kit, 28G kanthal wire and Cotton Labo Japanese organic cotton pads from Amazon. This was an investment after getting rid of a lot of my old vape stuff which was a bad idea.

I'm very good at building my coils. I tried spaced, contact, between 6 to 10 wraps, 3mm to 2mm inside diameter, must've tried building too many coils and would always taste burnt and bad flavor after about 20 hits.

The eliquid I use is a net eliquid, a very highly reputable company and their eliquid is not supposed to gunk up the coils so fast. When I would open up my tank at the sink to unfortunately spill out the liquid because I would have change the coil again, the cotton underneath the coil was all black. When I use the Nautilus coils they seem to last a lot longer and this is very upsetting because for those few moments that I got good flavor, the flavor was amazing.

Can someone please help me try to figure out what is wrong here? I was so excited to get back into building coils and now I had to purchase Nautilus coils. Thank you in advance.

Freemax M coils...tank needed

A short while back I had ordered a Freemax Fireluke tank and the place I ordered from had M coils on sale for like $1 for a 5 pack of coils. I ordered $10 worth. Now I have 8+ boxes of coils and would like a new tank, but am not sure in which of Freemax's tanks the M coils work. Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

► Morph Pod-80 & Morph S Pod-80; First impressions:

This Smok All-In-One project started with the small Morph 40 and these two "evolutions" maintain the meticulous attention to detail, choice of materials and the original ultra comfortable "arch" design. These Kits bring together almost all the best features of a Pod system in a single device.
The arched form factor together with the fire button that occupies all the front space makes the Mods truly ergonomic, moreover the zinc alloy mask guarantees a remarkable structural solidity.
Materials such as leatherette and the velvety plastic finish give a very pleasant tactile feedback.
The OLED screen is positioned laterally in a rational way and offers 4 different reading possibilities (Flip Screen).
The AFC system is adjustable and the new cartridge with capacity increased to 5ml always stands out for the convenient refill of e-liquid from the top.

Smok Morph Pod-80 & Morph S Pod-80 7.jpg

Smok Morph Pod-80 & Morph S Pod-80 8.jpg

► Morph Pod-80 & Morph S Pod-80; beautiful from all points of view:
The air flow inlet on the top of the device is adjustable by means of a metal knob. The maneuverability of the AFC is solid and well braked, it supports the types of universal vaping from open Mtl to DL.

Smok Morph Pod-80 & Morph S Pod-80 9.jpg

The front has a stealthy and minimalist look, the large Fire key spreads across the surface and offers extended and comfortable push activation.
Under the fire button there is the 1.4A Type-C charging socket (1.5A for the S model).

The arched design of the back enhances the overall aesthetics and provides an optimal grip, the leatherette insert houses the wording "Morph Pod 80" (Morph S Pod 80) with hot branding, to complete the aesthetic picture, there are two seams with handcrafted look arranged vertically.

LOST VAPE CYBORG QUEST 100 WATT KIT review by hittman

Thank you for joining me today for my second review for LOST VAPE. This time I will be taking a look at the CYBORG QUEST 100W Kit that was sent to me in order to provide a fair and honest review. First of all, let me discuss the elephant in the room. I’m sure some will say that it’s very similar to the Cold Steel 100 or the SX Mini SL Class mods. To be honest, the Cyborg does somewhat resemble them but has taken its own twist on the design and uses the Quest 2.0 chip which in my opinion is the next best thing to a DNA chip in a mod.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Cyborg is the usual white outer shell with a picture of the device on the front that I’ve seen on other Lost Vape devices I’ve reviewed or bought. One thing that I liked was that Lost Vape makes the extra effort of putting a sleeve over the device for shipping so the device doesn’t get scratched in shipping.

In addition to the mod, the kit includes the same UB Pro pod tank that I received in the Thelema Quest kit and have used with other devices prior to doing reviews for Lost Vape. I’m a fan of this tank. The stock coils provide very good flavor and vapor production. There is also an RBA available for this tank that works very well.

Included in the kit are two coils, 18650 battery adapter, some o rings, USB-C charging cable, and user manual. The coils included in the kit are the UB Pro P1 coil which is .15 ohm and rated 70-90 watts and the P3 which is .3 ohm rated for 60-70 watts. I have found that the .3 coil is my favorite and runs very good below the rated wattage. My favorite setting is at 45 watts. It’s nice that the two coils have different colors of o rings so it is easy to see which one you’re using even if you can’t read the laser etching on the coils.

In case there are still some that aren’t familiar with the UB Pro Tank then here’s a little information on it. The tank is a side fill with a large opening and rubber plug that sticks out on one end so it’s easy to get a grip on to open for filling. It’s very easy to fill with no mess. The tank holds 5ml of liquid. The top plastic portion thread onto the 510 base and the airflow control is on the base and provides plenty of airflow. I happen to like the drip tip on this tank but it is replaceable if you don’t happen to like it. The coils are push to seat like so many coils now.

Ok, now let’s take a look at the Cyborg mod. The one I received for review is the matt black carbon fiber version. The Cyborg can use 21700, 20700, and 18650 batteries. There is an adapter included to run the 18650. The output range is 5-100 watts but I probably wouldn’t push it to 100 watts with the 18650.

The battery is installed from the bottom where you’ll find the familiar screw in battery cap. The battery cap has three vent holes in it and on the underside has a – sign to designate the polarity when installing the battery. The inside of the tube is also marked with a large + sign in the bottom.

The 510 connection on top is held in place by three torx screws and has a gold plated spring loaded center pin.

upload_2021-10-3_21-2-28.png

The frame of the Cyborg is made from Zinc alloy. On the right side of the mod is the Lost Vape name and on the right side is the Cyborg Quest name. I like that there is minimal branding.

The zinc alloy frame wraps around the sides and back in an interesting design. It may just be coincidence but when I hold it, it is a perfect fit with three of my fingers resting below the curved frame. I find it very comfortable to hold and use.

The Cyborg uses the same Quest 2.0 chip and interface that was used on the Thelema Quest and the Ursa Quest. The interface reminds me very much of my DNA mods. In case you haven’t seen or used a Quest mod, here is the display and operation.

upload_2021-10-3_21-4-37.png

- Battery level indicator with numerical percentages

- Mode of operation

- Set wattage

- Coil resistance and user record number

- Firing mode( Soft, Normal, Hard) and Puff counter

- Settings

Once Settings is selected using the center button the following options are available.

- Atomizer

- Screen

- Color

- User

- Reset

- About

- Back

With this type of menu there is no need to remember different button combinations besides five presses of the fire button to turn the mod on and off. There are five modes of operation and one of them is TC-SS904 which is good since the .3 ohm coil can be used with that mode. Simply use the + or – buttons to highlight the mode and press the select button. Then you can use the + and – buttons to scroll through the five modes which are

- VPC

- Bypass

- Wattage

- Voltage

- Temperature Control(SS904/SS316/Ti/Ni) mode

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I really enjoyed testing the Cyborg Quest with the UB Pro Pod Tank. I’ve been a fan of the Quest 2.0 for some time since I bought my first Ursa kit and very much like the UB Pro Tank.

The Quest chip offers plenty of features with five vaping modes and three user records. Also the ability to use three different sized batteries should keep the user up and running whether they have 21700, 20700, or 18650 batteries available.

Both coils deliver very good flavor and with three airflow slots in the 510 base the UB Pro tank has plenty of airflow available for just about any user. With the .3 ohm coil at 45 watts I only needed to the airflow open a sliver to get my preferred draw.

I did notice that the Cyborg with the UB Pro tank on it was a bit taller than most of my other mods but I very much like it and am trying to decide which color I want to order.

So, would I recommend it? If you’re looking for an inexpensive mod that uses 21700 batteries and has an interface that is similar to a DNA interface then I would say yes. I will be buying one myself as soon as I figure out which color I like best. I may have to get two.

I’d like to thank Lost Vape and Chloe for sending the Lost Vape Cyborg Quest 100 watt kit for this review. Once again, thanks to the readers. Below is a link to the website if you would like to see what Lost Vape has to offer.

Transferring gallon Nicotine to smaller 16 oz bottles. Best Method?

I recently bought a gallon of nicotine to make my own juice. However, it came in a clear gallon jug and I would like to transfer it to smaller bottles and freeze it. I know that it will oxidize quickly upon contact with air so does anyone know how to make the transfer without that happening? I used to buy from Nude Nicotine but they aren't selling it anymore. They used a luer lock on their bottles and I just siphoned it out into smaller containers with a syringe.

Thanks,

Mo

HELLVAPE DEAD RABBIT R TANK - Review

Hi ECF members, In this review I take a look at the Dead Rabbit R Tank from Hellvape. The Dead Rabbit R Tank was supplied for the purpose of this review by Fiona from Hellvape.

Dead Rabbit R Tank - Unique Rebuildable Mesh Tank-Hellvape - The DIY atomizer leading brand

o5K7NUH.jpg

Introduction

Hellvape are atomiser specialists that are best known for their cruelty towards rabbits although they claim no torture takes place and it's a swift and humane death (it is a joke)! Here we have their latest Dead Rabbit the Dead Rabbit R Tank which is a Sub-ohm Tank, RTA Hybrid for want of a better description.

It takes the idea of the latest cost cutting trend of the rebuildable coil head and incorporates it into an RTA setting which is something very unique and innovative. With it's dual split airflow and 510 drip tip fitting although fully open this gives a fair amount of air it's going to also suit semi restrictive and RDL vapers, let's give it a closer look!

Disclaimer: No Rabbits were harmed in the testing of this product or writing of this review!

Aesthetics

The R Tank came in Orange cardboard box packaging with outer Orange cardboard sleeve, on the front we have branding and on the reverse contents, specs, etc! I received the Matte Full Black version, the options are Rainbow, Gold, Blue, Gunmetal, SS, Matte Black or Matte Full Black!

Up top we have a top-cap which inclines up to a 510 fitting Delrin drip tip, the outer edging of the top-cap has some really nice raised Celtic Knot decoration which also serves a practical service in the way of grip. Through the glass we can see the chamber with "R Tank" engraved into the surface and generous wicking ports, the shape of the chamber definitely gives this more of an RTA rather than Sub-ohm look! Due to the nature of this having a vertical mesh build within a shell which takes up room we have a large metal section between the glass and the base, this section has "Dead Rabbit" in fancy font carved into the metal one side and a carved "Dead Rabbit logo" the other. We then have the base section with AFC, the AFC has the same raised Celtic Knot design as on the top-cap which helps with grip when turning, we have dual slot airflow! Looking at the base we have safety stamps and a bit of branding, the 510 is Gold plated and protrudes nicely!

All the threading and tolerances are spot on and in my subjective opinion it's an handsome looking atomiser coming in a colour to suit everyone!

What You Receive?

You receive the R Tank with 5ml straight glass (2ml TPD) and also a 6.5ml alternative bubble glass! You also receive 5 pre-cut strips of cotton, 5 strips of mesh with attach leads and a coil building tool which essentially is for bending your cotton and mesh assembly around for inserting into the coil head section of the deck. You also receive a bag of extra O-rings, a quick building guide and full manual.

It's Various Parts!

Up top we have a 510 fitting Delrin drip tip, I can see the argument for a 810 and then a 510 adaptor being supplied giving the choice but with the size of the airflow slots, them being split and chimney bore not being the widest this seems optimized more for a semi restricted vape rather than full on DL without restriction, keeping the RDL vapers interested and after testing the R Tank for me the wide bore 510 is a good choice!

tQ7iSrD.jpg

We then have the fill plate with fill ports which unscrews from the chimney part of the chamber section, this needs to unscrew to release the glass which sits on the extended base section of the chamber, it's sealed top and bottom with O-rings and the alternative 6.5ml bubble glass can be fitted if you prefer! Looking inside the chamber with chimney section is quite interesting, the inner chamber is actually the outer shell of the coil head assembly, like the outer shell of the SMRT coil but within a chamber structure, the outer chamber has wicking ports to feed the coil head and is stepped to the chimney which sits immediately above the coil head shell!

9AcSeeL.jpg

The chamber does have a condensed RTA look about it but it's really aesthetic as the vapor will go directly from the top of the coil into the chimney! The base section sees the deck which has the inner shell of the coil head and two large terminals below, the AFC does have stoppers but can move much further one way to also allow the terminal screw heads to be unscrewed and tightened without removal!

_________________________________________________________________________

Filling

The top-cap has an interesting fitment, it works as quick as the bayonet style but without the need of the downward pressure before turning. Either side on the inside perimeter of the top cap we have a tab, then either side on the outside perimeter of the fill plate we have a notch for those tabs to fit into and then a rail going one way, each rail goes in opposite directions so just the slightest turn and the tabs travel along the rails to secure the tank! Although I had no issues at all when filling it does need pointing out the fill ports are not big by any means so you could have issues if using large nozzles!

Xs80OTo.jpg

_________________________________________________________________________

Airflow

The airflow works just like dual bottom slots on a sub-ohm tank but the AFC is allowed to be turned further in one direction before hitting the stopper to allow the decks terminal screws to be accessed without AFC removal, although personally I did remove it when building the coil!

The slots are not long but are quite wide with a split airflow so the outer slot lines up with two very narrow slots instead of a matching wide single slot! I do wonder if it was done like this because the slots on the AFC were wider than they wanted to also allow access to the terminal screws so went for the split airflow to restrict the airflow intake!

P9hp8Pw.jpg

The AFC has that raised Celtic Knot decoration for good grip and moves with a nice tolerance, the air comes through the slots and up through the centre of the coil head from below.

The Deck And Build!

Wow the graphic below states the build can be done in 15s, it takes me that long just to unscrew the terminal screws and to be honest however much fun and easy this is to build I recommend taking care to do a good job, 3 to 5 mins start to finish is more realistic although doing it half with one hand so I could take photos maybe take a minute off that!

dead-rabbit-r-tank-rebuildable-mesh-tank-by-hellvape-17-gif.956527

The deck has two large terminals in it's base and the screws get unscrewed and tightened from the outside of the base with or without the AFC present, whichever you prefer!

In a vertical position above the terminals we have what can only be described as the inside shell of a sub-ohm rebuildable coil (like a SMRT coil) but fixed in position. First you need to undo the terminal screws so the large terminals are wide open. You then place one of the mesh strips with leads facing downwards on the centre of the cotton with the cut corner of the cotton to the top left, the outside of the cotton has a silky coating which I have no idea what it is but you do not remove it! You then place the lower (smaller in diameter) section of the coil building tool onto the centre of the mesh and bend the mesh and cotton around the tool!

UOmr0ge.jpg

When you look at the coil head structure fitted to the base like with the SMRT coil inner shell we have an open slot which allows the excess cotton to slide through as the mesh/cotton/tool assembly is lowered in position. Before lowering the assembly into the coil shell make sure the leads are lined up with the terminal openings as once the assembly starts to be lowered into the shell in this regard you will be blind!

Once the mesh/cotton/tool is in position I would first tighten your screws and check the resistance, although it is simple and the terminals are large as mentioned as far as the leads going into the terminals is concerned after initially lining them up you are blind in regard the leads but by checking the resistance before cutting your excess cotton if you are unlucky enough for one of the leads to not find it's spot or both go into the same terminal you will still be able to save the build by simply lifting out, relining up the leads and sliding back into the coil head shell! Mine went straight in no problem but to check a rebuild was possible I unscrewed my terminal screws lifted the building material assembly out and re-installed and it was as good as the first time, neither the mesh or cotton got damaged! Once happy trim the excess cotton, remove the tool, prime up and give it a few pulses to admire your work!!

Vj8cy8w.jpg

You then line up the outer shell which sits in the chamber to the now built inner coil head and lower before screwing the tank together, fill and enjoy!!!!!!

Buying Extra Mesh And Cotton

You receive 5 0.2ohm Kanthal mesh strips and 5 strips of cotton which is excellent, you can also buy the same in packs of 10!

U0Q3xk9.png

I do hope they will release different variants of mesh and also no doubt even as I write this some will be on the hunt to find out if anything previously released will also fit!

How It Vapes And My Thoughts

I usually do have quite a few cons but not on this occasion, the fill ports could be bigger, although the 510 suits I suppose they could of allowed the option of also an 810 and wish there was more than just one resistance mesh available but the latter will probably be addressed in due course, then it's pros all the way!

Although 15s is a joke this is so easy and fun to build, I also like the innovative idea of taking the rebuildable coil head and fixing it into an RTA setting! That split airflow does add both restriction and smoothness, in fact this is the smoothest rebuildable mesh tank I have used and I have used all the profiles and profile copycat atomisers, I suppose it could be argued it should be more compared to sub-ohm mesh tanks but even here I find it superior in regard this is comparably smoother and much quieter!

Fully open and I wouldn't argue with the 50 to 60w rating but liking restriction I had the airflow less than half open which allowed just 40W for the same warmth and flavour I was getting at 55W fully open. Although this does have some restriction fully open it still gives enough air for most but the split airflow seems to come into it's own when closing down allowing for much more restriction than you would expect from either a mesh sub-ohm tank or Mesh RTA!

I love the quick release top-cap design and I find it very pleasing to the eye aesthetically. All tolerances and threading are spot on and full marks for what is included, including concise instructions which is good to see, finally at just 24mm at it's very base this will look good on almost anything!

Apart from MTL RTA's with one or two exceptions nothing else stays in my rotation but this will be joining that club, I haven't enjoyed using a non MTL RTA this much since the original single coil Zeus RTA!
