Hey guys, have any of you had a lung x-Ray after vaping for years? I’ve been vaping since 2015, still vape everyday on a sub-ohm tank and I feel great. Still workout at the gym, blood oxygen level is at 99% last few times I been to the doctor etc. I’m very curious to get a lung x-Ray just to make sure everything is ok out of curiosity. Let me know your results for those that have had it and post how many years you’ve been vaping.

Pretty sure this is all that remains of my wife's vaping gear after she quit. Very lightly used Eleaf iJust Mini 25W with a pack of GT M 0.6ohm coil heads. Also included but not shown is a microUSB charging cable. No box, sorry.

F.D.A. Authorizes E-Cigarettes to Stay on U.S. Market for the First Time
The agency approved three Vuse vaping products and said their benefits in helping smokers quit outweighed the risks of hooking youths.

"The Food and Drug Administration for the first time on Tuesday authorized an electronic cigarette to be sold in the United States, a significant turn in one of the most contentious public health debates in decades.

In greenlighting a device and tobacco-flavored cartridges marketed by R.J. Reynolds under the brand name Vuse, the agency signaled that it believed that the help certain vaping devices offer smokers to quit traditional cigarettes is more significant than the risks of ensnaring a new generation.

“The authorized products’ aerosols are significantly less toxic than combusted cigarettes based on available data,” the F.D.A. said in a statement announcing the decision.

The statement concluded, “The F.D.A. determined that the potential benefit to smokers who switch completely or significantly reduce their cigarette use, would outweigh the risk to youth.”


The watershed decision could pave the way for authorization of some other electronic cigarettes, including those of the once-dominant maker Juul, to stay on the market. For more than a year, the manufacturers of e-cigarettes have been in a holding pattern — most of their products on the market but awaiting official authorization — as the F.D.A. has investigated whether they were a benefit or a danger to public health........."

I’m here today to present my second review for Hellvape. The Hellvape Dead Rabbit R Tank was sent to me for the purpose of providing a fair and honest review by Hellvape. You might be surprised to find out that I’ve never tried any of the Dead Rabbit series of tanks and have only tried a couple of tanks made by Hellvape. Testing the R Tank has been a very interesting experience for me. The R Tank is a bottom airflow tank and holds 5ml of liquid with the pre-installed straight glass and 6.5ml of liquid with the included spare bubble glass. It is in my opinion an attractive looking tank but I’m sure what you really want to know is how it vapes so let’s get to it.

INITITAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging on this one is an eye catcher. The box is bright red with the Hellvape logo on top and the Dead Rabbit picture larger in the center. Once opened, the tank is exposed with the straight glass on it for shipping and the bubble glass below it in the foam insert. Actually what is seen first it the coil insertion instructions sitting on top of the tank and glass when the box is first opened.

The R Tank is very easy to disassemble for cleaning which I like to do before using any new tank. I was a little surprised that they went with a 510 drip tip but it seems to work out well. The top cap and the base both have a Celtic design wrapping around them. The top cap was very easy to remove for filling with a ¼ turn.

The first thing I did after cleaning the tank was to go ahead and install the bubble glass. I prefer to have the larger liquid capacity but the 5ml capacity with the straight glass isn’t bad at all either.





The internal chimney has R Tank printed on it which is easily visible through the glass. Above the airflow/ deck screw ring is the Dead Rabbit symbol on one side and on the opposite side is the Dead Rabbit name.





By now you might be thinking that this is just another regular RTA. Well, it’s not. The R Tank is not only a mesh coil tank but it is a vertical mesh coil tank. I find the base design rather interesting. The circular opening where the coil is inserted has multiple openings in it to allow plenty of liquid to flow to the cotton for the coil. Below where the opening is in the circular base there are two holes and when you turn the airflow ring it exposes two flat head screws that tighten down on the legs of the mesh coils.





First, you lay the included cotton strip down on a flat surface and place the mesh strip on it trying to center it as much as possible. It is important that you lay the strip with the cut corner on the top left. Then use the included coil tool with the side with the dimple sticking out upward and wrap the coil and cotton in one motion. Hold the cotton, coil, and tool securely and slide the coil down into the opening on the base. Don’t forget to loosen the flat head screws first so that the coil legs can go into place and then tighten the two screws. Clip the cotton as close as you can to the opening and you are done. Soak the cotton with liquid, fill the tank, and you’re ready to vape. I totally expected to have issues inserting the coil but had none. It was so easy that I was actually surprised at how well it went. Hellvape says it can be done in 15 seconds. I’m not sure about that but it went very quickly.







FINAL THOUGHTS:

I really enjoyed testing the Hellvape Dead Rabbit R Tank. I was a little skeptical at first about how difficult it was going to be to install a coil in this tank but it went smoother than I could even have imagined.

I think it’s a really great and interesting design. I’ve used a few other mesh tanks but had never seen a rebuildable vertical mesh tank like this. Even though the literature says you can build ten coils, there are only five coils and cotton strips included with the tank. However, if you buy the refill packs then you will get ten coils and strips for about the price of a couple of drop in coils.

On my first build, I didn’t get the cotton pushed down far enough on the bottom after cutting the cotton strip and got a bit of leaking after each refill. I knew pretty quickly what the cause was and installed a new coil and cotton strip. After that I didn’t have any leaking issues so it was purely operator error. I knew about pushing the cotton down but didn’t get it right the first time.

I felt like the vapor and flavor production was very good and liked running the airflow about 1/3 open at 36 watts for a really nice slightly restricted direct lung vape.

So, I just put a Uwell Crown 3 sub-ohm (0.25 SUS316 parallel coil head) on both the Drag X Plus Pro and the OBS Engine and got great performances from both at 80w. The voltage difference is crazy to me though. The DXPP went up to 4.89V (coil reads at 0.3 Ohms) and the OBS Engine rocks the same 80W at about 5.45V (coil reads at 0.28 Ohms). There is definitely some chip wizardry going on here that I'm unaware of or my Engine has been dropped one too many times. Let's do the mathZ.

Both the DXPP and Engine are single 217 boosted mods.

The mathZ: (both mods set to 80W)

DXPP - 4.89 Volts divided by 0.3 Ohms is 16.3 Amps. (Volts / Ohms = Amps)
16.3 Amps times 4.89 Volts = 79.7 Watts. (Amps x Volts = Watts)
--An expected outcome--

OBS Engine - 5.45 Volts divided by 0.28 Ohms is 19.46 Amps. (Volts / Ohms = Amps)
19.46 Amps times 5.45 Volts = 106.1 Watts. (Amps x Volts = Watts)
--Not an expected outcome-- At 80W, the Engine is performing at 106W. In fact, dialing down the mod to 65W is where it performs closely to the DXPP at 80W.

This is both good and bad. We can actually achieve higher performance than we think the Engine is limited to however, it makes the limits at which we push the battery to, guesswork. I just tested 100W on the Engine and the math says it's performing at about 133W. Amp draw is only 21.79 though, so not crazy high. Definitely not dangerous if we are using batteries with >25 Max CDR. However, if someone thinks their mod is drawing 16.3 Amps and is well within the limits of their batteries with 20A Max CDR, then they're going to find themselves with a pretty warm mod and shortened battery lives.

**Another reason to buy batteries with extra Max CDR headroom.**

This mod remains one of my favorites because of its small form factor and wide range in its ability to perform, but I'm starting to wonder if it's because of what is written above. I'm not really bothered by it, but just makes me realize I need to be a little bit more cautious about the readouts. Also another reason I like mods that show Amp load as a readout.

Hi all,

I am a former smoker of 15+ years. I quit successfully like many others by switching completely to vaping. I dabbled in vaping a few years prior to making the full switch, but due to the learning curve, user error, and nicotine laws in my country, I didn't fully commit to it and eventually went back to smoking.

I have now fully embraced vaping as a smoking cessation tool, and have found a new passion in this industry. From starting with a dual 18650 regulated box mod with stock sub-ohm coil tanks, I have now shifted exclusively to rebuildables and most recently mech mods.

Hoping to contribute and ask questions on this forum as much as possible.

Hi all,

I’m thinking about purchasing a parallel mech mod, most likely the Dovpo Clutch X18. Now I’ve recently been using a single 21700 mech mod for a few weeks which has been fantastic, but the only disadvantage is that it’s a single battery mech and I’m usually getting half a day out of one battery (Samsung 30T), which is not necessarily a bad thing and this was expected. I have a married pair of these batteries and they’re constantly been discharged down to around 3.5V before switching out and charging externally.

I have two sets of Molicel P26A which are both married and are currently used exclusively for a dual battery regulated mod. I’m planning on using the Molicels for the parallel mech mod, but I’d like to check my arithmetic when it comes to calculating watts law on this device.

Molicel P26A - 4.2V / 25A CDR
Coil resistance - 0.14 ohms
Ohms law - 4.2/0.14 = 30

Now, where I’m confused here is firstly the the combined current of the two Li-Ion batteries in parallel. If the combined amount of the two Molicels in parallel is 50A, then is the ohms law calculation of 30 actually safe when in parallel? I have 20 amps of CDR headroom theoretically. Or, because the cell load is now split in parallel, and assuming it’s a 50% split, is the real figure more like 12.5A per cell? Because if it is in fact 12.5A then I’ve exceeded the CDR of both cells.

Secondly, watts law.

What is the correct equation for determining watts law in parallel?

1. 4.2V X 50A (combined current)
   
   
2. 4.2V X 25A (single cell current)
   
   
3. 4.2V X 12.5A (theoretical split current)

I have been reading and viewing Mooch's resources, which is invaluable especially for mech users. He makes the point that with parallel, when the cells are split the actual split percentage is theoretical, meaning that factors such as the state of the mech & battery contacts, or atomiser threads and pin will affect the split load per cell. Meaning it may not necessarily be an even 50% split load. Which I think makes parallel somewhat confusing over a series mech. And without a reference figure for watts law, I can't get an accurate calculation.

TLDR: One has to conclude that the older DNA board is smoother, more accurate and overall a bit better for TC than this newer "C" edition board, which is a surprising outcome. It is a lot easier to use out-of-the box though, with a nice colour screen and all the settings you would want available without connecting to a PC. Unlike the original DNA Boards there is no need to change the material profile for an accurate result - the older boards do require escribe updating with a steam engine material profile for SS316L to get the best from them in my opinion. This is still a great board, a great mod, and a great option for SS316L TC; close to gold standard, but it may not be as good as a DNA 167 mod under the same conditions (see Login to view embedded media ). It could also be said that Arctic Fox/Red Panda flashed mods are giving this board a real run for its money. The Geekvape nuvoton powered mods are arguably as good, perhaps even smoother/more accurate on some of these tests.
