Steel labs nano v2 bf

I'm looking at getting one of these. If I do, what kind of spare parts would I need to future proof it? I'm thinking I want a mounting plate style, but I'm not sure I've built things before, so I'm not new to parts lists, just not certain about 510 parts. I'm sure springs and insulators are key, but they have different sizes...

New stuff acquired and taste issues

Hello,

It’s my first message here.

Im not a new vaper, I’m vaping since 2010.

But today I do have a question, I’m troubled.

I used a lot of vaping stuff since 2010, but I was stucked on a Nautilus 2 since 3 years, moving from 0.7 coil to 1.8, depending on my needs.

2 days ago, I acquired a Vaporesso Target PM80 SE.

I tried 0.2, 0.6 and 0.8 GTX coils.

But something new and disturbing is happening : all my favorites eliquids (DIY using concentrate mixes with 10% total flavor) taste strong sweetener, almost only sweetener and nothing else. It covers my entire mouth really fast and it becomes disgusting after a few puffs.

What do you thing is happening ??

Augvape VX217 kit review by hittman

Today I’ll be talking about a mod kit that I honestly hadn’t heard of until I won it here on ECF. I have become familiar with Augvape over my years spent vaping but had not heard of the VX217 kit. I was very happy to have won this kit and was excited to give it a try. I have been using the Augvape Intake rtas for some time now and was more than happy with them. Until receiving this kit, I had not tried the Intake sub ohm tank. I was not required to write this review and hope to give an honest review so others can decide if it might work well for them. Let’s take a look and I’ll give my thoughts on it.

What’s in the box?

1x VX217 Box Mod
1x Intake Sub Ohm Tank
2x Clapton Mesh Coil
1x USB Type C Cable
1x Battery Sleeve
1x Warranty Card
1x User Manual
1x Desiccant
2x O-rings

First Impressions:

Upon opening the VX217 kit, I thought that it was an attractive looking kit. I didn’t realize but probably should have that it was a large mod for no other reason than it can use two 21700 batteries. It is very short for a 21700 mod but is also fairly wide/fat. That being the case, I was a little surprised at how good it felt in my hand. I’d say they did a good job on the ergonomics. It’s also a fairly heavy mod and definitely not a pocket carry. It’s more what I would consider to be a desk or end table mod that I most likely wouldn’t carry around with me but is great for home or office use.

The operation is fairly simple to begin with. Five clicks of the fire button will turn it on and off. Three clicks of the button will get you into the menu system. From there you have variable voltage, variable wattage, bypass, spin button lock, settings, information, and back. There is normal, soft, and high options on variable wattage. From the settings option, you can change screen color, cutoff time, standby, language, and factory defaults. One thing that I do not like about this mod is that you use the spin wheel to move around in the menu system but instead of pushing on the spin wheel to select that option, you have to go back up and press the fire button to select an option. I would have much rather been able to just push in on the wheel and feel it would have made the user experience better.

This mod is the only one I’ve used or seen that has an operating range that claims to go up to 12V. I’m not going to find out. I have no desire to run this mod at full output. Also, this mod claims to be the shortest 21700 dual mod on the market. I’ll take them at their word on this. It is a very short mod. It will operate with dual 21700, 20700, and 18650 batteries. It comes with one of the nicest 18650 battery adapters that I’ve seen or used. The inside of the battery compartment is marked with + and – but the battery adapter is not. I can understand this since the battery adapter can be inserted either way.

The Augvape Intake sub ohm tank looks a lot like the original Intake RTA. It has top airflow and a quarter turn top cap to remove for filling. Something that seemed strange to me is that under the top cap where the fill ports are, instead of being metal, it feels like the piece that has the fill holes in it are made of some kind of hard rubber or something. I’m not sure the reasoning behind that. It came with two .2 ohm Clapton mesh coils. I felt like the tank and coils delivered a pretty good flavor production and plenty of vapor but nothing to write home about. I’d probably give this tank a 7.75 out of 10 for flavor. It’s a decent tank and I have nothing against it but I probably won’t stock up on coils for it.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I think the VX217 is a decent box mod. I am not sure exactly why there aren’t any temperature control functions on it but I honestly don’t care. I never use temperature control any more so I won’t miss it on this mod. I have never had a mod with a spin wheel and really like it except for the fact that you can’t use the spin wheel to select options and have to use the fire button to select while the spin wheel is just used for movement in the menu system. It is a plus to get the longer battery life with the dual 21700 batteries. The mod is comfortable to hold but it’s pretty heavy with the batteries installed. Like I said before, for me it’s an at home/office mod.

The Intake sub ohm tank is an ok tank in my opinion but I don’t feel like it gives any better flavor than most of the rtas that I commonly use and not as good as some. The mesh Clapton coils are fairly flavorful but nowhere near the best I’ve had. The Intake tank isn’t great and it’s not bad. It’s just ok. I feel like with the right coils it could be better. It is top airflow which is a plus in my book. The 810 tip that comes installed on it is a good height for me. I had no leaking or gurgling while using it so that is also a plus. I saw online that there is also a .15 coil available for this tank but I didn’t get one so can’t speak on it.

So, would I recommend the Augvape VX217 kit? Maybe. It all depends on what you’re looking for in a mod/kit. If you’re looking for very long battery life and don’t mind the extra weight then it might be a good one for you. Please keep in mind that flavor is very subjective so don’t let me steer you away from this tank because of my opinion. No one else knows what each person is looking for as far as flavor production. Someone else might try this tank and think it’s the best that they’ve ever had. That wasn’t the case for me.

I would like to thank Augvape_Fiona and Augvape for running the contest that allowed me to test and review this kit. Also thanks to those that choose to read my reviews. If you’d like to take a look and make a decision for yourself then I’ve placed a link to their site below.

Blotto single coil wicking

Having problem wicking my blotto without it leaking.
I'm using a single coil fused clapton 0.3ohm (3.0 6 wraps 26g) also have 0.25ohm 24g.

Well I'm using cottin bacon and I try to get the most amount of cotton I can through the hole and also tried fluffing it out but its like its not enough cotton still to block the exceptionally wide juice ports enough. The only way ive got it to not leak (today) is by tearing off a couple little extra pieces of cotton and sticking them in the juice ports to help block them more but idk how good that'll work. No dry hit so far but I haven't used it much today yet.

Any tips? I thought of trying dual coil so that theres just more amount of cotton but with my size coils I think I can only fit 1 anyway. Would rather just do a single pieces of cotton.

Bench Test Results: Vapcell Green F35 – 10A 3500mAh 18650...overrated capacity, good performer

These tests below only note the ESTIMATED ratings for these batteries at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of personal injury or property damage. They are not meant to be used outside of a physically and electrically protected battery pack. Never exceed the battery’s current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Use of any of these batteries is AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never, ever, be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
This Vapcell is an good performer but has a slightly exaggerated capacity rating and its 20A “max” rating is useless. It performs almost as well as the Sanyo NCR18650GA, which is very good, and better than the LG MJ1. Its 10A continuous rating seems reasonable so I am rating this cell at 10A.

The capacity of the two cells I tested was 3430mAh and 3485mAh. Neither of the cells met their claimed 3500mAh rating, a common game played by the China cell wrappers. Since the cells I have cannot be the lowest capacity ones in the batch I am rating this cell at 3400mAh.

Two cells were sent for the purposes of testing by Vapcell (http://www.vapcelltech.com). Thank you!

Which companies are likely to survive post september 09 ptma

I assume the largest would have the best chance. Seems they want to consolidate the industry so as not to have to regulate 10,000 companies, a bummer since innovation will likely be quenched 100 fold.

Will flavored ejuice really go the way of the dodo bird?

Which wears batteries out faster? High voltage or high current?

I prefer to vape MTL so I tend to build higher ohm coils at lower wattage (14-20W). I'm curious as to which wears out a battery faster, drawing higher voltage or drawing higher current? I ask this because I'm split as to whether or not I would build low (0.6-0.7) and vape at a lower wattage or if I build high (1.0-1.3) and vape at a higher voltage. I know that in terms of battery life drawing less current makes it last longer but I wonder if drawing higher voltage won't make it wear out faster.

HEPA Air Purifier getting saturated

Random question for you guys...

Changed my air purifier HEPA filters back in April as they were moldy, but not really wet. Maybe damp. Tonight I went to change the carbon filter and noticed some pooling at the bottom and when I took out the HEPA filters they were SOAKED. I cleaned it up as best as I could and put it back together. I plan on leaving the whole mess in the sun all day tomorrow to dry it out.

I'm guessing this is due to my increased presence and vaping in my bedroom. I guess what I'm asking is are your air purifiers getting wet and is there a better option out there? I'm looking at dehumidifiers and considering running both of them. Anyone using a dehumidifer with success?

It's obviously more humid in summer but I don't think I have big humidity issues as I'm in Denver (dry) with AC on. I think 50 ml a week is just too much for this thing.

510 spring loaded pin stuck down

The 510 spring loaded center pin on my mod tends to stick down (actually, I've had issue with this since it was new) It's a Kangertech Kbox mini. I take very good care of my mods and have never got any juice in the conncetion... it has always had this issue but now it seems worse. Any tips to get it to pop back up? Plastic toothpick, tiny scewdriver, tweezers (combination of those) What about putting a tiny drop of oil (like on the end of a toothpick) followed by some alcohol on a q-tip? I'm very handy with tool... can I take the mod apart and fix this from the inside?

Kizoku Unlimit Stock & RTA - A Fatality M25 Killer?

The Kizoku Unlimit is a new DTL rebuildable tank which has a few features which are rare, or simply not seen in the market now. Doubling up as a stock coil mesh tank, and also a dual bottom and side airflow RTA, the Kizoku Unlimit may possibly be a Fatality M25 replacement.
