Nice, always good to know that other people here have used the same thing with success.

Just got the kit today, woot! Mixed up 60vg/40pg 10ml of 18mg Blueberry, vaping it as I write this. I always pictured DIY as something complicated, but it's really just a little math and a lot of fun :) I don't see myself buying much pre-made juice going forward, now that I've seen DIY firsthand.

Super cool, nice work! The kit is absolutely packed, like clown car full of DIY awesomeness.

The pamphlet in the box recommends freezing the liquid nicotine, which comes in an amber plastic bottle. Should I first put it in a dark glass bottle (which sounds like the way to go, based on other posts in this thread), or is it OK to freeze in the amber plastic?

On that note, I also see notes about making sure the bottle is topped off to avoid oxidation- is it OK to freeze it after each use, even if the bottle ends up with more and more empty space as I go along?

Final question: is it possible to get a full ingredient lists for the flavors? I'm trying to avoid artificial sweeteners like aspartame, but they just list 'natural and artificial flavors'.
That was a great description of the product. We might have to use that in our advertising going forward.

For your first question, you will be fine freezing the nic in the PET bottle it came in if you are going to use it up relatively quick (over the next 6 months or so).

Again, you will be fine to refreeze in the bottle it came in after each use, but if you want the least amount of oxidation you will want to split the bottle up into a couple different bottles. That way as you open and use a bottle you are not exposing the entire amount of solution to air, only that one bottle.

For your last question, we are not the manufacturer of the concentrated flavors that we sell. We simply rebottle the flavors. The best source for information on flavors is straight from the manufacturer (TFA, Flavor West, Capella, etc.). If you have a question about a specific flavor or two then I would be more than willing to try and get an answer for you, but if we took every question like that we would get inundated with those questions.

Thanks for the quick help! It really was surprising how much gear was packed into that storage bin, feel free to use my description however you'd like :)

TFA (which 3/4 of the flavors I chose were from) has MSDS sheets available for their flavors:

Perfumer's Apprentice

...but unfortunately they just list 'combination plant/synthetic' in those, and 'artificial flavors' without clarification in the ingredients lists. I sent them an email, hopefully they'll be responsive. In the past I've had a very hard time finding out if things like aspartame are present from premade manufacturers (won't name names, but I'm 0 for 4 with major vendors thusfar).

Thanks again for the help, and for designing a cool kit to get people started with DIY.

In my experience dealing directly with the manufacturers, TFA is by far the best when it comes to helpfulness. CA is a nightmare and FA is helpful but it can take a while to get a response. I've not had too much direct contact with the other flavor companies to have an opinion.

As for the TFA link you gave, the way it works is the new SDS (Safety Data Sheets) show ranges for the ingredients that they are required to divulge. The "list" link shows what typically shows up on a GC/MS analysis for that flavor, again with ranges so that other manufacturers cannot easily copy the flavor.

Indeed, I just learned that they are super helpful firsthand- a guy named Bill replied today (so well under a business day response time) and assured me that they do not use aspartame in any of their flavors. So, they not only replied (and fast), but were will to actually tell me whether they use it or not. Very reassuring!

Good tip.
eJuiceMeUp has all my recipes, but I also have the recipe's on index cards that I work from, and every once in awhile I back up the ejuicemeup in an external HD. I'm covered, I think. :)
Good to hear oplholik!

If you are looking for one more place to store them for security purposes. ;) An RTS e-juice calculator is in the works and should be coming online in the next few months and have mobile access with its responsive design! :toast:

Joshua in another thread we were discussing the "peppery" taste that some nicotine base has.
Nicotine itself is odorless and colorless, what is this peppery tasting chemical.
From what I understand Woofer and something I read from Kurt once confirmed my thoughts, is that the pepper taste comes most likely from the nic-oxides and not the nicotine. So a very harsh and peppery nicotine usually means one of two things, 1) they use a "poor" quality nicotine or 2) once mixed the product is not proper handled before making it's way to the customer.

Hey, just got sucked into this thread, and had a question.
RTS, by the way, was the very first nic I ever ordered....but I've "been away".
Do you have an option to order nic in glass? And if so, what sizes?
I'm kind of trying to stock up, but if possible to avoid the trouble and extra exposure of rebottling.
In other words, I'd pay a bit extra to get 4 nicely sealed glass 250's instead of 1 plastic liter...

oh kewl! Can you tell us what some of the features will be on it?

It must be a coincidence, but three more liters are on the way here too!;)
I'm planning to do that in July, hope there will be a good 4th sale. With that and the reward points I won, should be able to get the 3 liters I need. That will give me 8 liters, which should last me bout 25-30 years if I live that long.

never tried RTS nic, but have heard wonderful things about it!!

Since we are still in the development stage it is hard to say what ALL of the features will be, but one big plus for some people will be the ability to use a significant number of flavor concentrates without running out of spots.

As I get confirmation on new features I will leak them here first.

oh that's great!! Hope it'll be downloadable too. But either way is ok. Looking forward to the leaks, and then trying it out.
