I'd like to know about running multiple computers. I work for the state and most of the day I'm on a State owned machine. They have VERY strict rules and policies about downloading unapproved programs. I'm not on my personal computer very much anymore due to being moved to a place where "Big Brother" can keep a closer eye on me. If the time I do spend on my personal computer will help I'm all for it.
at one of the places i worked i ran around and installed it all over the place and just added the program to the start up folders. and left the program set to lowest cpu use. noone ever noticed the extra little icon in the taskbar lol

Every bit helps and I think it is awesome that we have had this many members join in already.

I posted the link over in our vendor sub forum to get a few more views ;)

Thrasher, I chose the lowest cpu usage since I also work from home on my computer. Hated to kick the GPU but my rig is getting...old like me.

A great cause. I'd encourage everyone to investigate this. With so many multi-cpu systems around these days and the fact that browsing only uses a % of the cpu/gpu resources, it makes sense to donate the unused time particularly on desktop systems.

I use World Community Grid, not F@H....http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/index.jsp[/email]

Not to detract, but any chance of an ECF team there?

NOTE: With all these things, watch your CPU temp. Most can be adjusted to "Max % CPU use" if your CPU gets too hot.....

This is in no way meant to be an insult so please please dont read into it the wrong way.
i looked into world grid before and while I applaud anyone willing to invest their time researching the worlds problems and especially to all the wonderful folks involved in any type of grid computing, i would prefer that my cycles get used for things like cancer and alzheimer's research and not for 3rd world problems like water filter research and dengue fever. while important to those countries that need it i think F@H is more focused. at the present time F@H has 3 times the user base as WG. and thats why i think it would be a better effort.

Tripple digits half way to home

I'll be more than happy and proud to try that idea out. If I can get past the fire walls and locks that big brother set up. I'll try it today if I can get to some of the computers I have in mind. Thanks for bring it to the attention of others.
