Here the rubber washer is fitted in the bottom of the tank (not pushed all the way yet in the picture).

Set up with a 28 gauge micro coil rolled on 1/16 (1.4 ohms)
Cotton is pushed through the coil and into the tank (tank whole 2 mm) Don't overdo it a little goes a long way !

Tank is filled with juice. As of V1. it holds 1 ml. But with a thinner bottom cap for the tank and a smaller "isolator" around the centerpost there will be room for close to 1.5 - 2 ml. Remember that the wick will also hold extra juice on top of the tank. After filling just lay the rest of the cotton wick over the fill-whole (maybe make a small ball and push it in the whole to ensure that it stays in place)

There's no leaks at all. No dry hits. The tank dos need refilling but it's a 2 sec. task with no tools other than your juice bottle. I rather have a spare 10 ml. juice bottle in my pocket and refill a few times than having a 6 ml. tank on the top of my mod (just my preference). So this is now my "#1 - out and about device"

Thanks for looking ! Hope to inspire some good ideas for super short and pocket friendly hybrids ;)

Well, here it is . . .. sometime later, and I've been so caught up in REO frenzy that I left my u-can on the shelf. When did I mod this thing? .. . months ago. But, I just got hold of some delicious NET, from an orangutan friend of mine, and little u-can has a new job to do! Dedicated dripper! These two are now married; but I'm the one enjoying the honeymoon.

btw; I ended up tucking the neg. wire under the black o-ring at the bottom of my + post. Still no neg. post, but a slightly different way of doing it. Here's the original neg. wire routing (the cap would trap it on the side there).
We shall see how the new setup holds. I know that wire is gonna get a bit warm, but I've got it landing on the deck a little ways before touching the o-ring.

First off, I'd like to thank the original poster for starting this thread. I don't post much in any of the forums I follow, but I joined this one just to say thanks.

I've built two of these so far. One from the original u-can and another from the v2. I have another few waiting their turn.

Both of the first two I made by boring out the entire "deck" and replacing it with a press fit part made from titanium. The posts are offset to either side instead of one in the middle. I used a bit of delrin for the insulators and an old pistol cartridge was cut up to make the contacts. I made brass posts for the bottom contact and press fit a 5-40 socket head cap screw into the button after drilling it through.

So far they're pretty awesome.
