Alas, I missed out on the $15 V5's.

The one SS V5 I do have sits on my night stand and gets used every evening (sometimes mornings). I have a KF4 clone mounted on it. Awesome combo.

I think I'm going to retire my P4U 7-22. Beside weighing and ungodly amount the battery droop while firing and other issues encourage me to reach for other mods rather than that one.:(

Good to hear your V5 is still in use. The lowest price I saw on SS V5 was $9.95 from madvapes this May. I bought one for a spare. They are gone, now.

My V5 has been the only device I've used since April 2014. I replaced the switch on it with an Omron switch in August of that year. The V5 outlived the Nitecore i4 I bought at about the same time.

I just ordered two V5's on Ebay. @ $22 a copy it they are much more expensive than the $9.95 or $14.95 deals that were available earlier this year but I kinda like my V5 and wanted some backups.

Funny, I paid full retail for my 1st V5 and it spent a few months collecting dust while I explored fancier more expensive mods.

I guess I'm going back to my roots...

In reality George, they are a steal at $22, yes we grabbed a few at 9.99 but a few years prior i was happy to get them for 40$ plus..... so you are in the "mean" at 22$......2days of cigarettes when I quit , enjoy them, they will "love you long time"

@BackDoc that is what I was thinking as well. My 1st one I paid full retail for. Even at $22 a copy they are much less expensive than that "other brand" that many ECF users seemingly worship.

The Blue V3's I picked up have mostly the same functionality but just don't feel the same in the hand as a Stainless V5. It was enough of a difference that I finally decided I needed to pick up a few V5's. The telescopic single/dual battery works like a champ.

The one I'm using is a year+ old and no signs of wearing out. I'm sure these new ones along with the V3's I have stock piled will last a long time.

My new Chrome Z5's showed up yesterday. I had to open one. In the single unit packaging was the unit and a extra (smaller) battery cap. Both in plastic envelopes. Nothing else.

The beauty ring is not as 'squared' as my 1st one, kinda rounded on the top edges but not as much as my v3's. The photos showed a clear fire button but out of the box it was chromed like my first one.

+2 charged 18350's and a prebuilt and filled KF4 clone, adjust voltage and we were up and running. I just got to love the simplicity of these devices.

There are still a number of different sellers offering for ~same price or less new v5's on ebay.

That Aspire 4 in 1 is an interesting idea but yet to see how it does for each function. I used genesis tanks with rayon wick for a long time before moving to sub tank minis. Now we have a few genesis style tanks for use with fiber wicks. I have two Avocados and one Theorem. I did the Theorem with a 1.3 ohm coil and put it on my Zmax with 2 18350s at 5V and it works great with about half open airflow. You might try a 2 or higher ohm coil in that 4 in 1 but it will likely still need more that the 15w max on a single battery.

Yeah I was thinking I might stack 350s in a Z3 to check it out. 350s are the only 'safe' batteries I've got. Hoping the 4 in 1 one has a good dripper configuration. Only dripper I've experienced so far is my tiny mini dripper. Looking forward to a real one.

    Pictures please George

Here's the new one next to my 1st one:

The new one is on the right. It has some branding decals on it the other one did not come with. Here you can really see the difference in the 510 and some of the branding on the new one:

It might be just me but I think the threading on the tube is better on my old one. The bottom has a bit of "rock" to it that the old one seems to not have as much or as noticeable.

My 1st one came as a kit: 3 batteries, I think the USB adapter for charging your cell phone and maybe a 2-bay charger. I paid dearly for that 1st one. (I don't recall getting the extra battery cap)

These are great mods for 'toodle puffing'. My Mini version survived being launched off the roof onto the driveway! Sure it has some deep gouges on it but it still fires just like day #1 when I took it out of the box!
