I never finish a cartomizer - if you run it dry you could singe it any ruin it. How long one lasts is only something you will know. I don't know the size of your drags, how often you drag, etc. I keep a cartomizer damp with suitable juice and get a week of use out of it (I am a moderate vaper, not a chain vaper). I use juices with 20% or less VG and avoid juices that seem to drop a lot of flavoring sediment - that way I can keep the airflow good through the stuffing and the stuffing pretty clean. I try real hard not to singe them. if you don't keep a carto damp enough, you can singe it and get a bitter taste which some juices can work ok with but it will ruin delicate sweet flavors. I also only use manual batteries so I don't have to worry much about killing batetries with carto leaks. I still fill very carefully but occasionally one will leak a bit.

IMO A carto does not equal a pack of cigs. Maybe 10-15 cigs?

I don't use Volt cartos but inside they look similar to the Vapor4Life WOW cartos I use. You need a new carto when the one you are using is too degraded to to enjoyed. The drag will degrade, the heat will degrade, the flavor will degrade (espcially if it has been slightly singed one or more time). I use a pair of contrasting flavor cartomizers as my all-day vapes, one each on two models (one of which is the same model as Volt and I do have one Volt battery) - I can get 2 weeks use out of the pair and sometimes a 3rd week (so for a single carto that would be 7-10 days). I can refill mine for that long and that is multiple times per day adding juice. I could keep refilling them but by the end of that time I want fresh ones. Some people clean and dry cartos to try to get more use out of them but the results can be inconsistent.

Haha I read about 200 too before I bought one!

And re above -
You are not supposed to put LR attys on slim ecigs. LR attys and cartos are for fat batteries and mods 450mah+. If you use them you may damage the battery, quickly or slowly. The electronics and protection circuits in slim batteries are generally not built to handle extreme current flow.

1st bolded. Don't have a perfect answer as there are a lot of variables. Nic strength has a lot to do with it as well as vaping habits, type of juice etc.. A good guess would be 1-2.
Underlined. Definitly cheaper and not hard to do at all.
2nd bolded. Again the variables. It depends somewhat on what kind of juice you use. Pg/Vg ratio, flavorings etc. Also some just last longer than others. I vape between 2-4 ml a day which is somewhat average and I've got cartos over two weeks old still performing using SI juice. I've only gotten a few days out of some with thicker sweeter juices. A lot of people clean them and a lot just use them about a week or until performance drops off and toss them.
Replacing 10 to 15 cigarettes a day I would say between 1-2 cartos a day but it's just a guess.

First post. Never tried any e-cig before. ordered the Volt pro kit from smokelessimage yesterday.
I currently smoke 10-15 marlboro ultralights a day.

I have a couple of questions on the Volt from smokelessimage.
How long does one cartomizer last? What is the equivalent to a pack of regular cigarettes?I'm guessing it's cheaper to buy the liquid then refill myself. When would I need new cartomizers? Is there a limit on how many times I can refill one cartomizer?
Thanks for any help. To be honest I had no plans on buying a e-cig until I found this forum. And read about 200 posts :)

Rats. I've been moused again while I was typing.:lol::lol:
Special thanks to Dormouse for all you do in the newcomer section.

I ordered my Volt Starter Kit Pro from Smokeless Image on Wednesday and had it on my door step less than 24 hours later with USPS express mail.

First things first, Smokeless Image has great customer service from a first time buyers experience. I was able to get my order in by 2pm and used express mail and had it in under 24 hours. WOW!

The Volt packaging is top notch everything from the kit to the pcc's. I ordered (3) manual 78mm's and (1) auto 65mm. I am impressed how long the batteries last. (1) 65mm and (1) Vanilla 24mg cart lasted me all day (I'm a pack a day smoker). The PCC's work great, I ordered the pro kits and pcc's for my girlfriend and myself. I just placed another order for different flav's of carts (watermelon and Ice Menthol). My girlfriend loves the RY4, I think thats gunna be her everyday vape along with cowboy for a change up. Me I think I will stick with the menthol and use vanilla as a change. We started out with the 24 mg carts and for us that was a perfect choice. Overall I am very happy that V2 cig's fumbled the ball and I finally got my refund, their horrible turn around time after your order is placed prompted me to find another e-cig for my first time experience and I am glad I found the Volt (Thanks to this forum and advice). I would definitively recommend Smokeless Image to anyone. If your looking for a great kit at a great price (with 15% discount) give Smokeless Image a try. Thanks for the advice everyone!!!! :vapor:

Ive decided to get a Volt myself, which by the way, thanks for your thoughts on it, but how did you get the 15% discount? I thought I had looked for things like that here, but apparently I missed something...

You won't be disappointed! I love my Volt. If you place your order by phone, who ever helps you will likely offer the discount, if not, just ask em. Great customer service!

I got my kit last week. Fast shipping. Batteries were charged which was nice. So far I'm impressed. This is my first ecig so I can't compare.

I'm still getting used to keeping track of the cartos. trying to remember how much one has been used.
I'm glad I got the sampler pack. I liked all 5 flavors but chose one and ordered a refill carto and refill liquid.
I tried a refill of a few drops in my first carto then read here it takes up to 20 drops.

A friend just got his blu order in and their battery carrying case looks great. It also holds 5 cartos.

So Far I've gone 8 hours a day without a reg cig which is longer than anytime before!

Is it possible to refill a volt carto, for example if I got the grape, and now its empty, can I still reuse it and refill? If so, how many times before the carto dies out on me? Sorry for the newb questions.

You can refill them. How many times depends a lot on what you refill with, light color, thin liquids will allow for more refills (most of the time). I get any where from 5 to 20 refills on mine.

Ok thanks, at least I can get more out of these cartos now. I've been reading that once you get that burnt taste in your mouth, then it's usually time to throw it out.

These are a little different in design (horizontal coil), If you stop as soon as you get that taste and then refill you'll be fine. At least that's what I do and all of mine have done just fine on the refill.
I think it's the old vertical coil ones that once you've reached the point of burnt taste it's to late.
Hope this helps.

Well, if you vape it dry to the point you get the burnt taste, it's most likely a goner. Try topping your cartos off often to keep the filling wet.

Horizontal coil cartos a little different, it wont ruin them like it does on vertical ones because the coil is not touching the filler material. Granted it taste nasty and best to avoid it, but it wont kill the carto unless you continue past this point.
