    18650 question

OK thanks for that, yes the mod is dual-battery. I was partly wondering what for instance happens if I forget to lock it when it's in my pocket and the + button gets pushed followed by the fire button resulting in it firing at 230W? Will some kind of protection kick in on either the battery or...

    18650 question

Just wondering if the Efest IMR 18650 3500 mah batteries I was sold with a Sigelei Kaos Spectrum are acceptable to use for that mod? Allegedly these have a "max current" rating of 20A, not sure if that's a continuous discharge rating or not. The mod's manual advises using Sony/Samsung/LG 40W...

What don't you like about vaping?

Don't know if that was sarcastic or not but I think the word overdose is overused in this context. Actual real nicotine overdose through inhalation of e-cigarette vapour is likely to be impossible (not technically but pretty implausible anyway due to people feeling so nauseous that they stop) as...

What don't you like about vaping?

Not getting that instant nicotine hit/rush thing that you get from tobacco, although it's attainable eventually. Finding flavours that you actually like can be inconvenient and costly as well, particularly if you are fussy like me.

I'm battling some ANTZ from Cali with edits to the wikipedia page on e-cigs

You see the problems with the Wikipedia e-cig article are that: a) The article is owned by WP:MED (Wikipedia Medicine project). Not technically owned by them of course, that would be a gross violation of the rules, just for all intents and purposes. Since WP:MED generally concur with the...

    things are getting weird

I use an MVP 2 with an iClear 30 (top coil version) quite a lot atm. Only had it for the past couple of weeks but I hardly ever get a burnt taste. The only times I do get it is if the tank is empty and I decide to try and magic some vapour from the remaining sludge! I vape at 4.6V (10W) btw...

    WHO statement on E-cigs.

I have read through The WHO statement, at least that's what I thought I was reading through. When I'd finished I had this strange feeling of déjà vu. Like I was sure that I'd read sentences and opinions very very similar to those in the The WHO's statement before. Like in research papers and...

Couple of Questions About Efest Batteries

Yes I take your points on Efest, the fact that they state specifications such as "Quick Discharge Current" when 2A is blatantly not a quick discharge current in comparison to 20A is confusing at best. Also the only test that I have been able to find on the 3100mAh 20A version is this one...

Couple of Questions About Efest Batteries

I'm thinking of getting a couple of Efest IMR 3100mAh 20A Purples. Looking at the specs I'm just wondering what exactly it is that Efest mean by "Quick Discharge Current": Efest IMR 18650 battery 20A purple efest 18650 3100mah 3.7V rechargeable battery -Efest battery for E-cigs At first I...

    Battery Labels Wearing Quickly

Thanks for the info. I patched it with electrical tape for now, might do a more permanent repair or get a couple of new batteries later to be on the safe side.

    Battery Labels Wearing Quickly

The method I usually use is similar to the one you describe but I obviously was not doing it properly. I just had a practice at trying to use only the terminal of the battery as pressure on the spring-loaded clip thing and I think I see what you mean so I put this incident down to inexperience I...

    Battery Labels Wearing Quickly

Hello I've owned a couple of Sony VTC5's for about 2 months and been charging them with a Nitecore i2 charger. I'm having the problem that on both of the batteries the label/casing has worn away near the negative pole. I'm pretty sure it's the Nitecore charger that's responsible for this. On the...

Is it worth a change to cartos?.

Yeah that is one thing I forgot to mention, cost can be a down side I suppose. A 5 pack of XXL Boges cost me £6.50 ($11) and I get a 5 pack of Aspire BDC coils for £10 ($17). The Aspire coils might last me 3 months but the 5 pack of Boges might only last me maybe 1 month. So bearing in mind...

Is it worth a change to cartos?.

I use Boge 2.0 ohm cartos. I use the cartos on their own at the moment, no tank. I haven't tried any other brand of cartomizer because I heard very good things about the Boges and they've worked so well for me. They produce great flavour and throat hit but I'd say the best thing is consistency...

    Metal or non-metal drip tips?

I haven't tried pyrex but I use a combination of plastic and stainless steel. I like comfort with drip-tips so generally I originally always used some type of plastic drip tip. But I got an Aspire BDC tank and the vapor is very warm, in fact its hot, so I use a stainless steel one on that to...

    Sony VTC5 Safe Discharge Voltage?

Thanks for the info I've now read some more of Sony's official documentation which seems to confirm a 2.5V safe cut off. I assume that the 2.5V is under load but I guess 3.2V on idle should still be OK for that.

    Sony VTC5 Safe Discharge Voltage?

I'm wondering what voltage I can discharge this battery down to safely, either under load or without load. I have searched but can't seem to find a conclusive answer to this. I know that my mod apparently has a cut off or at 3.2V, is it OK to carry on until it gets to that voltage? I know it...

EU Prescribed Medicine in the UK

I think that e-cigs as a medicine could potentially be a very good thing, allowing doctors to prescribe e-cigs is not really a problem, it is a positive thing that would almost certainly introduce vast numbers of people to vaping and take them away from smoking. The problem is that the medical...

Help choosing an 18650 battery (Sigelei 20W)

Well I managed to get a VTC5 ordered so thanks for all the help. Also got the mod and Nitecore charger on its way so all sorted now!

Help choosing an 18650 battery (Sigelei 20W)

Well I think I might go for a Sony US18650VTC5, I can find the 2900mAh Panasonic ones for sale over here (in the UK) but only from web sites I've never heard of. I'll probably just buy one Sony for now and might get a higher capacity at some point later depending on needs. I don't suppose you...
