Yup, I took out policies on all of them, the week before the party. The checks should be arriving any day now.

I'm still waiting for that lasagna. Make it meatless if it's not too much trouble. I'll bring the garlic bread (rummaging around, looking in places that bread really shouldn't be stored in).....

Apparently you're too tough to be brought down by macaroni salad Awsum. I've already got a request from Cindycated for veggie lasagna, so I'll make that for the two of you. I'm a carnivore though.

Hey, if I can't participate in the proceeds, no life insurance policy is fun to me.

I don't know about tough, just able to eat anything that doesn't move faster than I can, and if it does move faster I have ways to catch it anyhow.

Betcha couldn't eat an Indiana turkey! Do you know how to cook an Indiana turkey? You put it in a huge stock pot with a big rock at the bottom. Then you boil that ALL day. Throw out the turkey and eat the rock.

For many years, there were no wild turkeys around here, but now they are back.

The day we moved into this house we had wild turkeys in the backyard. Here in Jersey, we do the same thing, put them in a pot with a rock, boil all day, throw out the turkey, rock and water, then eat the pot using the embers for dressing. Great meal, too! Seriously, I was amazed to see them spending the night 50 or 60 feet up in a big oak in our yard. Never knew they could fly that well.

It's funny to watch them set up to roost for the night. I've watched 'em lined up like planes on a runway. The first in line will start running and finally get airborne enough to get into the top of the tree. Then the next, and so on ...

There's a world of difference between a wild turkey and a domestic turkey.

Some nights, it just doesn't pay to go to bed. *sigh*

This was actually about a month after we moved in. The wild turkey activity has kind of tailed off since we got Bo and I fenced the back yard in, but they still come by, every now and then, and graze in the back yard. Hmmmmm...maybe I'll get a pot and a rock set up, yummy!
