18490 with sub ohm coils

I have read so much about battery safety with sub ohm coils, but all the info I can find, only seems to be about 18650's! I was just wondering if the amperage draw was different for an AW IMR 18490 than on an 18650? I love my smaller mechs, but do not want to choose style and feel, over safety! So should I only use an 18650 for sub ohm vaping or am I fine with the 18490? I have been using the smaller batts for a while now and they never feel warm or anything! any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I feel the same way about my smaller mods, I prefer 18500 size batteries for the stealth aspect and use E-Fest 18500 flat top batteries on my dripping setups & gennys. On my Nimbus I have a 0.7 ohm dual coil setup and on my IGO-L I have a 0.6 ohm dual coil setup that I am vaping on an 18500 E-Fest as I type this. No problems except for the short battery life, I just make sure I always have backups charged and ready to go.

the aw imr can do 16.5 amp, the efest 18500 can do 8.8 amp. Big difference there! But both can do quite a bit.

Thanks so much for the help everyone!!! Now what about these new fangled orbtronic batteries? 18650, 2900 mah, I believe, with a 20 amp discharge rating. Anybody have any experience with those batts yet?

Do you have one?
It appears to be a rebranded Panasonic NCR18650PD.
The specs are pretty impressive, but I don't own any.

The Panasonic CRG18650CH's I have though are great!

Yes the Samsung INR's are pretty awesome, but not that available.
The comparator has the 2900 mAh Orbtronic, but it is the wrong one.
Check the Samsung INR against the EnerPower 2900 mAh 3C. (It also uses the NCR18650PD cell)
If you recharge @ 3.4V like I do, I'll bet you can't tell the difference.
